Wendy Williams Extends Her ‘Life’

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “How you doin’ Llanview?” The energetic talk show host got quite a surprise during the January 24 episode of her self-titled talk show, when she found that that “One Life to Live” wanted her to tape additional scenes on the long-running ABC Daytime soap.

The added scenes will extend Williams’ guest stint on “OLTL” from two episodes to five. While it is unclear when she will head back to the studio, her original scenes were taped on January 12 and are set to air on Wednesday, March 2 and Monday, March 28.

The development came as a shock to Williams, who learned of the news during a live broadcast of her talk show on Monday, when a crew member held up a cue card stating simply that “‘One Life to Live’ just called – wants you to do three more shows!”

As SON first told you two weeks ago, Williams (who has hosted a self-titled BET/syndicated talk show since 2008) will play as Phyllis Rose, emcee of “Access Llanview,” “One Life’s” show-within-a-show. Watch for the character to tackle the dysfunctional Buchanan clan in a special episode of the fictional talk show entitled “The Buchanans, A Family Under Siege.”

To a view a clip, and read a humorous commentary on the video on E!’s “The Soup Blog,” click here.

In other news…

“One Life to Live” has released a new casting call for the role of “Zoe.” The scene opens with Zoe mocking “Reed” for finally showing up. Reed reminds her that he is not her friend, and that his full name is Reed Kelly. Zoe compliments his name and tells Reed that he shouldn’t be nervous because she won’t bite him. A little confused, Zoe asks if they are shooting a porno film. Zoe responds that Reed is a little slow in the head, but that it’s okay, since that’s not what he was hired for anyway. Realizing what is going on, Reed tries to back out. Zoe asks if they take things from the top, because it throws off her concentration and motivation when they shoot out of order. Getting upset, Reed says that he can’t do this and has to leave. On the defensive, Zoe asks him what his problem is, to which he reaffirms that he must go. Zoe tries to reassure him by saying all he has to do is say his lines and then she’ll take it from there. The scene ends with Reed insisting that he wants no part of this, and that they need to find some other guy for the job. Click here for more information.

And here is a little more information on the audition script for the recurring role of “Repo,” which “OLTL” released last month. The soap is looking for a Caucasian male in his 40s who is an expert in stage combat, for the role which is described as a “wiry, dangerous, and extremely threatening bartender of a seedy bar.”

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Anytime on ABC.com and SOAPnet.com. Check local listings.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — February brings an altered state of reality for one Llanview resident who can never seem to handle her screwed up life.

Jessica (Bree Williamson) and Natalie (Melissa Archer) may be headed for the altar in the coming weeks but, in typical soap opera fashion, don’t look the nuptials to go off without a hitch. Fans can expect lots of drama, suspense, and heartache.

However, while most of those involved are able to cope with turn of events in a somewhat more reasonable manner, the same can’t be said for Jessica. That’s right…everyone’s least favorite alternate personality Tess regains control of Jessica’s fragile mental state beginning on Valentine’s Day.

But just what will Tess do with her newfound freedom, and could Bess (Jessica’s other personality) also make a return appearance? That remains to be seen, but watch out if either Jess or Tess ever reach for a pair of glasses again…

In other casting news…

Wesley Taylor‘s “Creeper” character now has a name, and it is one some fans might recognize. The Broadway star, who taped scenes earlier this month, will be playing the bit part of Barton, who strikes out while hitting on a girl. A summary of the casting call, which was released last month, can be read here. An airdate has not been announced.  Taylor is good match with the description of the person the show was looking to cast in the dayplayer role, which was a Caucasian male in his early 20s, that was “overly confident, cocky, smarmy, and thinks he’s ‘hot,’ but is really a nerd.”

Pete Braust (Peter Straub) offers John (Michael Eaton) some advice concerning the women in his life on Monday, February 7.

Baby Hope Thornhart (Madeline, Molly, and Tess Sullivan) will be seen again on Tuesday, Feburary 8 when Starr (Kristen Alderson) takes her to Statesville for a (off-screen) visit with her daddy, Cole.

Expect to see more of Matthew Conlon in the coming days as Paris gallery owner M. Claude Calmar, in scenes with tortured artist Tomas (Ted King), before the latter decides to take a trip to Llanview. Calmar made his “OLTL” debut on Friday, January 21, in scenes with Cristian (David Fumero) and Blair (Kassie DePaiva).

Harold Plaut returns as Clint’s (Jerry verDorn) thug Mr. Black on Tuesday, February 1. Look for Clint to give him and his other thug Mr. Blue (actor unknown) some further instructions. The goons were last seen in October when Clint ordered them to beat up on Ford (David A. Gregory).

And other dayplayer character appearing in the coming weeks will be Reverend Dennis, who will officiate the christening of Jessica’s and Natalie’s babies.

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Anytime on ABC.com and SOAPnet.com. Check local listings.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) Framed and ignored…

THIS WEEK ON:THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

Lily recreates Paris for her and Cane, Monday, January 24. Jill doesn’t get the congratulations she hopes for when she announces to family and friends her engagement. Tuesday, January 25, Colin continues to taunt Cane with his presence. Nikki turns to Deacon when she’s tempted to fall off the wagon again. Cane tells a dumbfounded Lily more about his past Friday, January 28.

The Inside Story: Thrown to the Wolves
Sharon is floored when Christine, along with FBI Agents arrive to arrest her for the death of Skye. She immediately turns to Victor and demands that he tells the truth but Victor, who is unmoved by her pleas, ignores her. She soon is handcuffed and escorted out of the club. When she’s at the station, Christine shares the evidence that has Sharon in the situation that she is in: the recording of her and Skye arguing by the volcano. Sharon insists that she didn’t do anything to Skye, but Christine points out that based on the evidence that they received, she could be spending the rest of her life behind bars. More devastation comes to Sharon when she is told that bail will be set at 5 million dollars. News soon travels when Nick arrives and he outright admits that he thinks she is guilty; Sharon tells him that she never touched Skye. Adam, in the meantime, tries his best to turn the blame on Victor, but Christine turns a deaf ear to his accusations. Back at the holding cell, Sharon tries her best to get Nick to believe that she didn’t murder Skye and tells him about the bail. Nick, however, tells her that he will not put up the money to get her out of jail. Nick does, however, inform Noah about Sharon’s arrest. When their son hears this, he heads over to the jail and blasts Sharon for her need to be with Adam rather than her own family. In the meantime, Jack is approached by Adam, who tells him about Sharon being arrested for a crime Victor had to have committed. He too, asks Jack to help, but Jack coldly tells him that Sharon is no longer is business or concern. As everyone turns their back on helping, let alone believing Sharon, Sharon receives a visit from the one person she doesn’t want: Phyllis. Phyllis instantly gloats at her rival being in jail. Sharon snaps telling the red-head that if she truly wanted to do away with someone, she would have gotten rid of her a long time ago. With those honest words said to her, Phyllis believes that Sharon didn’t do the deed. Meanwhile, Nick confronts his father demanding to know what exactly happened when he whisked Skye to Hawaii. Victor refuses to answer but immediately calls Michael once Nick has left: he wants him to pay the 5 million dollar bail, but to keep his name out of it.

A Closer Look:Don’t Mean Maybe, But That’s His Baby
As Daniel continues to hold Lucy, he is flooded with the memory of helping deliver her before Daisy hit him and ran off. Without sharing his memory, Daniel finds himself in awe that Victoria and Billy have instant love for his baby that they’ve adopted. Once by himself, he begins to ponder what to do with his revelation. He soon finds himself approaching Kevin, vaguely telling him that he has a feeling he knows where his baby may be. The two friends have a heart-to-heart and once all is said and done, Daniel makes a vow to keep quiet about being Lucy’s father and that the best place is in fact with Billy and Victoria.
