(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Television and stage actor Larry Keith passes away at the age of 79.

In 1970, along side such daytime greats as Susan Lucci and Ray MacDonnell, Larry Keith (born Lawrence Jay Korn) debuted as an original cast member of what would become one of daytime’s most popular daytime serials, “All My Children.” Keith, born in Brooklyn on March 4, 1931, passed away at the age of 79. According to Keith’s daughter, Lisa Korn, the talented actor lost his battle with cancer in Manhattan on July 17.

Keith played the well-dressed restaurateur, as well as father figure and lover of daytime’s most famous character Erica Kane (Susan Lucci), Nick Davis until 1978. The Emmy-nominated actor (1977, 1978 Outstanding Lead Actor) would return to the soap for several short stints over the following two decades. Before, during and after leaving his mark on daytime, Keith was also making a name for himself on Broadway. In 1961, he became the first America actor to land the role of the very British Prof. Henry Higgins in the original Broadway Production of “My Fair Lady.” The trained singer also appeared on Broadway productions of “High Spirits,” “I Had a Ball” (1964), “The Best Laid Plans” (1966), “Gigi” (1973), “Titanic” (1998), “Cabaret” (2001) and last but not least as Mr. Stopnick on “Caroline, or Change.” The actor who found “The Actors Company Theatre,” an Off Broadway repertory company that produces plays, also performed in many, many Off-Broadway productions. Keith’s other television credits include guest-roles on “Law & Order” and “Damages.”

Funeral Services were held for Keith at the Riverside Memorial Chapel in Manhattan on July 22. Keith, a Brooklyn College graduate and a Korean War veteran (he performed for the troops), is survived by wife, Mina Wagman, daughter, Lisa, a grandchild and his brother Alvin Korn.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. “AMC” also airs 24/7 online at ABC.com.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Emma Lavery gets a new face.

Star-kidz.net is reporting that Emily Alyn Lind is out as “All My Children’s” Emma Lavery. Replacing the young actress will be Danielle Parker. Parker will be the third Emma to air on the ABC soap opera this year.

Lind first aired on “AMC” in February. Fans of the young actress need not fret, the soap kids site hints that the situation was mutually beneficial. Star-kidz.net will keep fans updated on Lind’s next move, as well as the move of most of daytime’s littlest stars. Lind replaced Lucy Merriam who originated the role of Ryan Lavery (Cameron Mathison) and Annie Chandler (Melissa Claire Egan) daughter in 2006. The ABC soap lost the talented Merriam during the production relocation move west late last year.

Parker, whose other acting credits include a small role on the NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” debuts as Emma on Monday, August 16.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. “AMC” also airs 24/7 online at ABC.com.

The Inside Story: Dead End

With Rex drugged and passed out, Eli tampers with documents relating to Bennett Thompson, effectively ending his investigation. Lisa, Layla, and Cristian all agree to have Evangeline removed from life support on Monday, July 26. Later, Blair informs Dorian of her engagement to Eli and plans to surprise him, completely unaware that he has lied regarding his whereabouts. On Tuesday, July 27, Eli claims that he was in New York City buying her an engagement ring when questioned by Blair. Afterward, Eli intercepts Hannah’s call to Cole, and warns her once more what will happen if she crosses him. Meanwhile in Boston, Kelly finds a semi-conscience Rex in his hotel room. Shortly thereafter, they learn that a file has been left for Rex at the front desk. Things go from bad to worse, however, when Rex and Kelly hit a dead end at the Hall of Records. Kelly alerts John to the strange turn of events. Back in Llanview, Eli walks in on Hannah just as she is on the phone begging Ford for help. Although he is shaken up by her call, Ford assures Eli that she didn’t say anything incriminating. By Thursday, July 29, Eli tells Blair that he thinks they should get married that evening. Kelly picks up on the fact that John considers Eli and Bennett Thompson are one in the same when she sees him sending Eli’s photo to the Hall of Records clerk in Boston on Friday, July 30.
