(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “One Life to Live” begins taping in their home.

The ABC soap may have just started taping in the recently vacated “All My Children” studios on Tuesday, but cast and crew are already feeling right at home in their new digs.

Several “One Life” stars have taken to Twitter to voice their excitement over the show’s move to a larger, upgraded studio. Kristen Alderon (Starr) has posted images of her new dressing room, and of the lobby of the building they now share with “The View.” Bree Williamson (Jessica) tweeted earlier this week that it was the “First day at the new studio!! I love everything so far!!! I am gonna post pictures of my new dressing room on Thursday [February 18]!!! Melissa Archer is my neighbour!!”

In addition, the cast was treated to a celebratory lunch on the set, complete with special guests Caroline and Dina Manzo from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” To view photos of the luncheon, click here.

Mark Lawson (Brody) had some harsh words for “One Life” concerning the firing of co-stat Daphnee Duplaix (Rachel), commenting on her Facebook page: “Shame on them. They have no clue. You will be sorely missed.”

Popular ‘AMC’ Couple Set to Return

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew bring Mr. and Mrs. Slater back to “All My Children” for a short stint in April.

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew will both be making a short-term return to “All My Children” this April. Minshew, who has played Kendall Hart Slater since 2002, will first air on Friday, April 9. Kaye, who played Zach Slater from spring 2004 until earlier this year, will first air on Tuesday, April 13. It appears that the return episodes will focus on business partners and notorious frenemies Kendall and back-from-the-dead Greenlee (Rebecca Budig) dealing with the fateful events that went down in the winter of 2009.

At “AMC” Exexutive Producer Julie Hanan Carruthers request, which included agreeing to flip the bill for Minshew’s husband Richie Herschenfeld and her new baby daughter Willow Lenora to join the new mother in Los Angeles, Minshew agreed to return for the short stint. The visit interrupts Minshew’s extended maternity leave which is expected to run through this spring. One of daytime’s hardest worked and hardest working actresses, the Emmy-nominated Minshew ironically nearly had her baby on the set of “AMC” last November. Little Willow arrived a month early, during the actresses’ last week of taping pre-maternity leave in New York City.

Speaking of Minshew, SOAPnet has put to rest (for the time being) recent rumors that the actress will tape her final scenes of “AMC” early this spring in New York City. The site reports that Minshew’s April return is a “precursor to her anticipated return following her maternity leave.”

The actress tells SOD that co-star and good friend Kaye told her “If you go, I’ll go!” upon learning that she had agreed to the stint. The popular actor obviously kept to his word. Kaye opted to discontinue his relationship with “AMC” last fall correlating with the soaps production move to Los Angeles. Kaye’s partner, two-time Emmy winner Susan Haskell, currently stars on ABC’s “One Life to Live” which tapes in New York City. The couple shares two children.

Kaye and Minshew are not the only actors returning to “AMC” for short stints, Julia Barr and Cady McClain (who play Brooke English and Dixie Cooney, respectively) aside, Taylor Miller returns as Nina this spring as “AMC” celebrates the life and times of Palmer Cortlandt. James Mitchell, who played the lovable tycoon, died in January.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings. “AMC” now also airs online at ABC.com and can be accessed 24/7.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “All My Children” star officially announces his retirement.

Confirming what numerous internet publications, including Soap Opera Network, have been reporting for some time, ABC Daytime has announced through SOAPnet that David Canary, 71, is retiring from “All My Children” this March after giving audiences twenty-seven years of wonderful performances as Adam and Stuart Chandler.

The talented actor had these parting words for his many disappointed fans: “My career on All My Children has given me more than words could ever convey both professionally and personally. I have cherished each and every moment. I would like to thank all the fans who have tuned in throughout the years. Their love and support has meant the world to me. I truly feel that I will leave the show in great hands. The viewers will be happy with how Adam departs the canvas and I know that leaving JR (Jacob Young) as head of the Chandler household will continue to provide the show with many great stories to come.”

Although Canary will finish taping in March, expect to see Adam Chandler air through April of 2010. ABC is still keeping specific details of the exit mum, but it appears that SON’s initial speculation that Brooke’s return was designed to usher Adam’s exit is correct. SOAPnet tells the audience to “expect to see a scandalous end to his marriage with Annie (Melissa Claire Egan) and a reunion with an ex-wife.”

In news that may ease some of the sting from the loss of this powerful actor and character for the soap and its many fans, Canary assures that “this is not the last you’ve seen of Adam Chandler. I will be back to check up on the Chandler Clan.” Before his scheduled departure, look for Canary to bring back the deceased Chandler brother, Stuart, for some poignant scenes this March.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings. “AMC” now also airs online at ABC.com and can be accessed 24/7.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Sean Kanan has taken to his Twitter page to address rumors of his departure from CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.”

On Friday, July 10, 2009, Sean Kanan’s “Deacon Sharpe” landed in Genoa City and “The Young and the Restless,” after being MIA from Beverly Hills and “The Bold and the Beautiful” for some time. His character got back into action with his favorite femme fatale Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz), who is currently involved with Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). Recently, the character was hauled off to jail on charges of kidnapping. Since then, fans have been wondering when their favorite bad boy from the other side of the tracks would be returning to the soap. Kanan addresses those questions and answered a few more via multiple Tweets on his Twitter page.

“There has been lots of rumor and speculation about my departure from Y/R so here is the truth straight from my me,” said Kanan. “I was always on reoccurring status. I was not fired and am sick of hearing that I was. I spoke the words that were given to me. The last script I received sent me off to jail. I am thankful for my time on the show and am actively working outside of daytime. I have not been contacted by Y/R regarding my return. It seems that I will also not be returning to B&B any time in the near future,” he continued. “Now you know as much as I do. I hope that we can put an end to the rumor factory. I profoundly appreciate your support.”

“The Young and the Restless” airs Weekdays on CBS. Weeknights on SOAPnet.
