(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “The Bold and the Beautiful” starlet Heather Tom (Katie Logan Spencer) is currently co-starring in the play The Heiress at the Pasadena Playhouse along with veteran actors Richard Chamberlain and Julia Duffy.
Tom portrays Catherine Sloper, a shy, plain-Jane woman who stands to inherit a fortune from her dying Physician father Dr. Austin Sloper (Chamberlain). When Catherine meets charming Morris Townsend (Steve Coombs), she’s immediately enamored by the attention he gives her, attention that she’s desperately craved from her father. Dr. Sloper believes Morris is only pursuing Catherine to get her inheritance and threatens to disinherit her if she marries him.
Also starring in the production headed by Chamberlain are Gigi Bermingham, Chris Reinacher, Elizabeth Tobias, Anneliese van der Pol, and Jill Van Velzer.
The production, directed by Dámaso Rodriguez, started on April 24 and will run on the Playhouse Mainstage until May 20. Tickets for The Heiress can be purchased at The Pasadena Playhouse box office, online or by calling 626-356-7529.

TVLine is reporting that ABC’s “General Hospital” has recast the role of Kristina Davis with daytime newcomer Lindsey Morgan. She replaces Lexi Ainsworth, who exited the soap in October as the character was sent to Yale University. According to a show representative, upon Kristina’s return to the canvas, the daytime drama plans to take the character into a different direction.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — According to TV Guide‘s Michael Logan, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” is bringing Sean Kanan back into the fold as the soap plans to reintegrate Deacon Sharpe onto the canvas beginning next month. Since 2009, the character had been living it up on network sibling “The Young and the Restless” as part of a connection he built with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in Genoa City.
For those of you who remember, Deacon is the father of Hope Logan from an affair he had with her mother Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) back in the early 2000′s (Deacon was on “B&B” from 2000 to 2005). While exact details are unknown as to why he has returned to Los Angeles, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him deeply involved in the soaps current pill-popping storyline that recently married Hope finds herself in.
Will Daddy help or hurt his baby girl? Tune in to find out beginning Thursday, May 24 on CBS.

As Soap Opera Network first reported on March 16, Deadline‘s Nellie Andreeva is reporting that ABC has officially canceled “The Revolution” and plans to slide “General Hospital” into the 2:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT timeslot beginning Monday, September 10, the same day the network hands over the 3:00 PM ET/2:00 PM PT time period to affiliates. The news was later reported by The New York Times.
It was last week Wednesday (April 4, 2012) when Soap Opera Network Tweeted, via a very reliable source, that within ten days a decision on the future of “General Hospital” would be made by the network. Tomorrow, April 12 (or Saturday, April 14, depending on how you look at it), marks the one year anniversary of Black Thursday (April 14, 2011), which is best known to many as the day that ABC announced the cancellations of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” and the launches of “The Chew” and “The Revolution.” It was also the day Source Interlink announced a licensing deal with American Media over Soap Opera Digest and newly defunct Soap Opera Weekly.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — The news of changes hitting NBC’s “Days of our Lives” keeps on rolling tonight as one of the soaps outgoing stars, Matthew Ashford (soon-to-be ex-Jack Deveraux), posted a heartfelt message to his fans on his Facebook page just a short time ago in response to the news of his pending departure:
As you’ve probably heard, the news came out today that my character (and I) will be leaving the show. That’s the way it goes in this business. More details later… meanwhile-as always-thank you to everyone for your support.
Today of all days, it was nice to get this expression of support from the fans for Missy and me. It was a sweet thing to do-thank you very much.

As previously reported, a “Days of our Lives” spokesperson has not responded to requests for comment.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star Alexis Bellino tweeted earlier this evening that she had been brought in for a cameo appearance on ABC’s “General Hospital.”
The sometime’s actress first alluded to her appearance on a daytime soap opera when she said, “I’ve been keeping a secret but SO excited cuz I’m in LA for an acting role on a popular soap & I get to share it w/ all of you today!” She would later follow up the tweet by saying, “Guess what?! I just arrived on set of General Hospital for my 1st cameo appearance! EXCITING! I can’t tell details yet but I will soon!” Her tweet was re-tweeted by “GH” executive producer Frank Valentini.
Bellino revealed that she had been welcomed back by “General Hospital” after reportedly doing a good job today:
Yeeheee! Leaving General Hospital set now and they said they’ll be having me back! Are you kidding?! OMGosh! SO much fun! TYJ!!!
— Alexis Bellino (@AlexisBellino) April 11, 2012
Per her Twitter posting, Bellino will first air on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.
A “GH” representative was unavailable for comment.
