ABC Daytime Bangs Out Their Holiday Schedule

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) – Explosions, gunshots and deaths fill out ABC Daytime’s schedule of re-airings for the 2010 holiday season.

ABC Daytime will not be showing original episodes of “All My Children,” “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital” on Thursday, December 23, Friday, December 24, Thursday, December 30 and on Friday, December 31, as usual. Re-airings of past episodes from all three soaps will air on each of the aforementioned days. Don’t expect to get romantic and joyous episodes to go along with your Christmas presents and New Year’s Eve embraces. Look for an end of year scoop for each ABC soap following the description of the re-airings.

“All My Children’s” scheduled re-airings focus on the villainous David Hayward. On December 23 and 24 look for re-airings of the November 22 and 23, 2010 episodes of “AMC” respectively. In these episodes, David returns from the not so dead after his wife Greenlee is sentenced to life in prison for his murder. On December 30 and 31 look for re-airings of the November 29 and 30 episodes of “AMC” respectively. In these episodes, an armed David escapes from custody and confronts Ryan Lavery on the roof of his building with murder on his mind but the former doctor is the one who ends up taking a bullet in the back courtesy of Erica Kane. The other plot in these episodes surrounds Kendall Hart learning she’s now a widow and her children learning they’ve lost their father. End of Year Scoop: Will Erica Kane be charged with the attempted murder or the murder of David Hayward?

“General Hospital’s” scheduled re-airings focus on the explosive Metro Court saga that took up nearly a month of screen-time in February 2007. On December 23 and 24 look for re-airings of the February 1 and 2 episodes of “GH” respectively. These episodes deal with Hour 12 and Hour 11 of the Metro Court saga. Craig’s mercenaries storm the Metro Court and take everybody hostage; and to show everybody they mean business shoot Dr. Robin Scorpio. Alcazar holds the key to saving everybody’s life but is hindered by a life-threatening medical condition. Can the rest of the Port Charles sexy mobsters save the day? On December 30 and 31 look for re-airings of the February 16 and 19 episodes of “GH” respectively. These are the last two hours of the Metro Court saga. Alan Quartermaine struggles to stay alive following his ordeal at Metro Court; meanwhile, more lives are taken and threatened as time literally ticks down at the Metro Court. End of Year Scoop: Brenda and Dante’s big secret will finally be revealed (for real)!

“One Life to Live” will spin a slightly less dark tale as it takes out episodes from this past October that deal with the final days of two villains reign of terror on Llanview. On December 23 and 24 look for re-airings of the October 22 and 25 episodes of “OLTL” respectively. In these episodes, the citizens of Llanview slowly begin to learn that Tea Delgado is indeed alive and Tea’s life, along with many others, is at risk when a maniacal Eli sets off his bomb. A crazed Hannah, meanwhile, holds Starr and James hostage. Cole shoots Eli dead incorrectly believing that he’s lost everything due to the madman. On December 30 and 31 look for re-airings of the October 28 and 29 episodes of “OLTL” respectively. In these episodes, Tea, Blair, Todd and John dig themselves out of the rubble, while James and Starr try to escape Hannah’s mad burial plot. In the end, everybody is reunited with their loved ones but with their lives having forever been changed. The other plots in these episodes include Destiny learning her real origins and Rex searching for his. End of Year Scoop: Marty Saybrooke prepares to blow up Natalie’s life on one of the happiest days of her life.
