Think sublime chemistry between a daytime leading man and leading lady means a hunky-dory relationship off camera? Think again. In a video on <a href="http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-beverly-hills/season-6/episode-1/videos/soap-opera-secrets-revealed#" target="_blank">bravotv.com</a>, <strong>Eileen Davidson</strong> (Ashley Abbott, "The Young and the Restless"; ex-Kristen DiMera, "Days of our Lives") and <strong>Lisa Rinna</strong> (ex-Billie Reed, "DAYS") reveal they haven't always liked -- and occasionally loathed -- their soap pairings.
<strong>Caitlyn Jenner</strong>'s BFF <strong>Candis Cayne</strong> just taped a cameo appearance on "The Young and the Restless," and guess who came along to watch? Ms. Caitlyn herself.
CBS' "The Young and the Restless" is in a celebratory mood today as the soap is enjoying 25 consecutive years as daytime television's most watched drama series. As part of its continued success, the soap is also enjoying its best season average in total viewers since the 2011-2012 television season. To show their appreciation to fans for their support, cast and crew took the time to pose with a banner that states: "The Young and the Restless: #1 For 25 Years." To honor this feet, Soap Opera Network has gathered all the images published on social media for your one stop viewing pleasure.
Filmed in mid-August, episodes airing during the week of November 25 and on Monday, December 2, 2013 of NBC's "Days of our Lives" found Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus), Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) seemingly unite for the first time as they worked overtime to hide their role in the apparent death of Nick Fallon (Blake Berris). Just before being hit over the head with a rock, Nick was trying to instigate sexual relations with Ms. Hernandez, who then made it clear that not only wasn't she interested, but it wasn't the time nor the place to get busy. In a recent interview with Soap Opera Network, Koslow gushed over the amount of effort that went into producing the episodes, particularly the river set. "It was kind of amazing what they created on the set,” the actress said. "It’s like the 90s, because in the 90s we had huge sets. I remember being on a raft, and the raft was on shocks. So we did some crazy stuff back then, and they recreated it for this story. It was actually an adventure."
"The Young and the Restless" will celebrate its 40th Anniversary on Tuesday, March 26. As part of the celebration the series has taken a cast photo that honors the history of the series as its moves forward to its next 40 years. The show has also released a behind the scenes video that shows how things came together.
Today "Young and the Restless" co-executive producer Paul Rauch announced that he will be stepping down from the drama series as of Friday, April 1, which ironically enough is April Fool's Day. This of course is no joke.
EXCLUSIVE: Soap Opera Network has learned the names of soap opera writers who declared “Financial Core” status to keep on working during the strike. By going “Fi-Core,” these writers can never be members of the WGA again but they continue to pay reduced union dues and the Guild is obligated to continue providing services such health insurance, pension and residuals. Though they can still work on Guild projects, Guild members will not be keen to hire them.
