Check out the updated demos below.

PREVIOUS (Tuesday, January 25, 2022): While unrounded demos give us a fuller picture of how daytime broadcast performed during the week of January 17-21, 2022, at press time those figures were unavailable. Until they become available, “Days of our Lives,” “The Price is Right,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Talk” were the clear winners for the week at least among Total Viewers. In fact, both the first and second half hours of CBS’ game shows are giving Americans a reason to have some fun in the afternoon.

For the fourth consecutive week, the second half-hour of “The Price is Right” attracted more than five million viewers. With 5.289 million viewers tuned in the show hit a new season high in Total Viewers, gaining +228,000 viewers week to week and up +456,000 viewers over the same week last year. Meanwhile, the first half-hour also hit a new season high and was up +268,000 viewers week to week while gaining +380,000 viewers over the comparable week one year earlier.

For several weeks, the second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” has been topping “The Bold and the Beautiful” to rank fourth overall across daytime broadcast. This week, with 3.279 million viewers tuned in, the show is inching closer to “The Young and the Restless” which ranked third overall averaging 3.672 million viewers. Less than 400,000 viewers separated the two among Total Viewers. Year to year, “The Young and the Restless” is up +385,000 viewers while the second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” is up +165,000 viewers. In the available Women 18-49 ratings (rounded), the second half-hour currently ranks above “Y&R” with a 0.5 rating for the game show verse the soap’s 0.4 rating. In all, the first half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” attracted its largest audience since the week of May 25-29, 2020.

For the second time in a month, “Days of our Lives” attracted its largest overall audience since the week of February 15-19, 2021, this time marking an 11-month high. The daytime drama series was watched by an average of 1.909 million viewers last week, gaining +119,000 viewers week to week and up +114,000 viewers over the same week last year. The soap beat “GMA3: What You Need to Know” in overall viewers. One week earlier, “GMA3” beat “DAYS.” Looks like JoDevil is a hit with Salemites!

“The Talk” attracted its biggest audience since the week of February 8-12, 2021, a week cut short due to CBS News coverage of The Second Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. An average of 1.623 million viewers were watching the growing chemistry between co-hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Natalie Morales and Sheryl Underwood. The show gained +59,000 viewers week to week and was up +113,000 viewers compared to the same week last year.

“General Hospital” and “GMA3: What You Need to Know” were the only daytime broadcast shows (based on available viewing figures, excluding “TODAY 3rd Hour” and “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna”) to see a decrease week to week in Total Viewers. Averaging 2.184 million viewers, “General Hospital” still managed to increase its overall audience compared to the same week last year (+169,000 viewers).

“The View” (2.472 million) was down a massive -641,000 viewers due to viewer interest at the time for the show’s continued coverage on the January 6 insurrection and the Second Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump on the comparable week last year. “GMA3” was the only other daytime broadcast series to see a decrease in audience compared to one year earlier, down -24,000 viewers year to year.
