Now that she’s wrapped up her 21-year stint as “Days of our Lives’” Samantha Brady, Alison Sweeney (Samantha Brady) is heading to a different soap opera: “General Hospital!”

Soap Opera Digest reports that the actress will be heading to Port Charles, but with a twist: Rather than acting, the Los Angeles native will be directing the ABC sudser!

“She’s sort of paid her dues and spent some time learning the show,” executive producer Frank Valentini told the magazine. “[So when an opening presented itself], I asked her if she was available and she said yes.”

Sweeney will reportedly be directing her first episode this month. At this time, it’s unclear whether she’ll be directing the series full time or on a freelance, temporary basis.
