Shortly after word broke that Kassie DePaiva would be taking on the role of Eve Donovan on NBC’s “Days of our Lives” later this summer, originator Charlotte Ross took to Twitter to congratulate the former “One Life to Live” actress on snagging the part and shared some of her own fondest memories of the character. Ross also announced she’ll be appearing in a future episode(s) of ABC’s “Nashville.”

“I had to pass on reprising my FAVE role, Eve Donovan, as I’m currently filming 3 projects (NASHVILLE-abc now) & I know Kassie will be wonderful!” explained Ross, who currently stars in VH1’s “Hit the Floor,” as to why she was unavailable to return to the daytime drama series.

The actress retweeted messages from fans who wished her the best of luck while also sharing a picture of a framed Daytime Emmy award nomination certificate from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. “#FlashBackFriday My 2nd #Emmy Nom for #EveDonovan. What a FUN 4 years I had on #DOOL… I’ll be back one day… 😉 #FBF,” the actress wrote.
