EXCLUSIVE: On Sunday, June 16, during the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, Soap Opera Network caught up with “General Hospital’s” Jimmy Deshler, who discusses his first Emmy Awards appearance, Kristen Alderson‘s win for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Starr Manning on the soap (Alderson currently portrays Kiki Jerome), and what lies ahead for his character Rafe Kovich, Jr. and Molly Lansing (Haley Pullos).

“It’s amazing. It’s a crazy experience, but I’m enjoying it all,” Deshler says of appearing at the Daytime Emmys shortly before learning co-star Kristen Alderson had just won her very first Emmy award. After watching her acceptance speech, Deshler said, “I’m so happy for her!”

As for his very first romance on the soap, Deshler recaps how things began for his character and where his future may lie. “Rafe shows up and he just kind of throws a wrench in everyone’s program, I guess. Molly just sees him as a friend and then TJ [Tequan Richmond] thinks it’s more, and it just causes a lot of problems. Rafe is definitely into Molly. Hopefully she starts feeling the same for him.”
