In celebration of the 50th anniversary of ABC’s “General Hospital,” Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake) and Finola Hughes (Anna Devanne) worked together and just missed taking home $500,000 for their charity, The Art of Elysium (http://www.theartofelysium.org), a non-profit organization that works closely with actors, artists and musicians, encouraging them to volunteer their time and talent to children battling serious medical conditions, on Disney/ABC Domestic Television’s “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.” After appearing on the Monday, April 1 and Tuesday, April 2 episodes, the duo walked away with the guaranteed bank of $250,000.
The $500,000 question: In 1993, the first “webcam” was activated in University of Cambridge’s computer lab so that its employees could keep an eye on a what?
A: Coffee pot
B: Bathroom line
C: Water cooler
D: Candy machine
The correct answer was A, but the two opted to walk away with the $250,000 that they had already won and chose not to take a guess as they were out of lifelines and unsure of the answer. If they guessed incorrectly on the question, they would have only taken home $25,000 in winnings towards their charity.

TO BENEFIT THE ART OF ELYSIUM!“General Hospital” stars Finola Hughes and Jason Thompson started as contestants on Monday’s episode of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” and continued as holdover contestants on Tuesday’s show (4/2). They kicked off Tuesday’s show by looking at their $100,000 question with an accumulated Millionaire Bank of $67,600 and two lifelines left (“Jump The Question” and “Ask The Audience”).
On Tuesday’s show, Finola and Jason used their “Jump The Question” lifeline on their $100,000 question – and their final lifeline, “Ask The Audience,” on their $250,000 question.
They ultimately made it all the way up to the $500,000 question! With just two questions separating them from winning the top prize of $1 million, they decided to not take a guess on their $500,000 question and walk away with the guaranteed $250,000 that they had already won. If they had guessed incorrectly on their $500,000 question, they would have fallen back to $25,000 in winnings.
Finola and Jason will donate their Millionaire winnings to The Art of Elysium (http://www.theartofelysium.org/), a non-profit organization that works closely with actors, artists and musicians, encouraging them to volunteer their time and talent to children battling serious medical conditions.
