'One Life to Live' Issues Two New Casting Calls

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Llanview is about to get a little more crowded as the show recasts an old role and issues a casting call for a minor character who will become involved in a major storyline.

“One Life to Live” has released two new audition scripts in the past week. The first one is for the role of “Eve.” The scene opens with her at “Michael” and “Marcie’s” apartment. Eve tells Michael that she raised her sons aware that her police officer husband could be killed at any moment, and recalls her horror the day it finally happened. Michael reassures his mother that she raised them the best she could, to which Eve explains that she only took things one day at a time. Regretfully, she admits she wishes she had pushed the police department harder to further investigate their father’s shooting.

Eve goes on to say she never realized just how consumed “John” had become by the cold case. Michael tells her that he doubts even John realize how involved he is tracking down his father’s murderer. He confesses that John was on his way to their father’s grave to tell him he had finally solved the crime, when the accident happened. The scene ends with Eve saying that father and son are finally reunited, and they will always be looking down on her and Michael.

It is fairly evident from the script, which a recycled one from 2006 when John McBain was presumed dead following a terrible auto accident, that the show is looking to recast the role of John and his brother Michael’s mother Eve McBain.

The other script is for the dayplayer role of “Sister Bridget,” a nun at St. Ann’s. The scene opens with her talking to “Chad,” who tells her that he is there to visit his wife “Jane Ross.” The Sister asks Chad if the boy with him is his son. He tells her no, that it his wife’s child, and that he really wants to see his mother. Sister Bridget retorts that she was instructed that Ms. Ross was not married to the baby’s father. Chad confirms the fact, but states that he has always thought of him as a son. As the scene ends, the sister looks suspiciously at Chad and asks if they have met before, because he looks very familiar to her. Chad laughs at the comment and says that a lot of people tell him that because he just has one of those kinds of faces. While the character names have been changed in the audition script, it sounds suspiciously like it involves Jessica and Brody.
