(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “One Life to Live’s” latest musical guest helps the citizens of Llanview understand what it takes to keep “Holding on to Love.”

On Tuesday, August 4th, 22-year old Grammy nominated Latin musician Frankie Negrón will appear on “One Life to Live,” serenading lovers Todd Manning and Téa Delgado with a rather unique version of his signature love song, performing it in both English and Spanish on a secluded rooftop.

According to Paul Glass, “One Life’s” Supervising Muscial Director,
“I am very excited to welcome a unique artist like Frankie Negrón to ‘One Life to Live.’ The multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated Latin artist is the perfect fit for the intimate performance we have planned. His romantic ballad, ‘Holding on to Love,’ is a wonderful complement to the live music we have featured on the show.”

Negrón, whose appearance on “OLTL,” marks his soap debut, tells SOAPnet that “It’s exciting. ‘One Life to Live’ has been around forever, and there have been some great singers and actors who’ve appeared on the show over the years. It’s an honor to be among them, but I think my wife and mother are more excited than I am. They’ve been fans of the show forever, they’re really getting a kick out of it.”

Singing primarily in Spanish, Negrón has experienced widespread success with his brand of salsa music, earning two Golden Album awards, and having nine of his songs rank on the Billboard Top 40 Hot Latin charts. Although a native of New Jersey, his parents hail from Puerto Rico. Negrón has released a total of eight albums during his twelve year career. On stage, he had a supporting role in the 1998 Neil Simon Broadway flop “The Capeman.” In addition, he had a starring role as a struggling artist living in the South Bronx in the independent film “Boricua’s Blood.”

“Holding on to Love” was co-written by Negrón, and is featured on his hit album “Independence Day.”  His latest release is scheduled to land in stores on September 23rd.

Other musicians to perform in Llanview in recent years have included Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Nelly Furtado, Simply Red, Timbaland with Keri Hilson and OneRepublic, Lifehouse, Tito Puente Jr., and Jeannie Ortega.
