(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — In January, Soap Opera Network first reported that ABC’s “General Hospital” would not be getting a new opening sequence (see story), but now comes word that things have changed.

According to a “General Hospital” representative, “a new opening sequence is in the works.”

It was not clear as to whether or not this opening will be an updated version of the current opening or a completely new opening that will include new graphics and images of the actors. However, we have been told that whatever opening it may be it will definitely include new contract players such as Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacchara), Nazanin Boniadi (Leyla Mir), Sarah Joy Brown (Claudia Zacchara), Claire Coffee (Nurse Nadine Crowell), Jason Cook (Dr. Matt Hunter) and Sonya Eddy (Epiphany Johnson), among others.

“General Hospital” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.
