If you think you know everything there is to know about “The Young and the Restless’” sexy star, Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby), you’d better think again! Soap Opera Network caught up with the actor during the sudser’s 40th Anniversary Celebration, and he let us in on a few secrets — including the fact that he’s a sucker for all things wedding!
While many guys would much prefer guns, bombs and business to the generally more feminine love, romance and courtship, Goddard isn’t one of them. “I’ve had a lot of action sequences; I was on a show before that was an action-based show [“Beast Master”], and for me now, it’s all about just connecting with the audience and with what I think the audience is responding to,” he says. “This is daytime, and it’s about love and romance.”
With almost 30 years of memories to pull from, “The Young and Restless’” Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) can’t be forced to name her favorite “Y&R” moment. Because, as she so aptly puts it, “There have been so many!” But as she celebrates being back on contract with the show (something she’s been on again/off again since she started back in 1983), she’s thrilled to be playing out what she thinks is one of Lauren’s greatest story arcs yet.
As previously reported, cast members from CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” appeared on yesterday’s edition of “Marie.” In honor of the soaps 40th anniversary, the Marie Osmond hosted talker paid tribute to the memory of “Y&R” co-creator and head writer, William J. Bell, and highlighted the longest-running feud in daytime soap history – Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton).

On this special episode, Marie celebrates 40 years of the Daytime Emmy® Award winning soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” Marie is first joined by one of the most tumultuous couples on the show, Melody Thomas Scott and Peter Bergman, who play Nikki Newman and Jack Abbott. Melody talks about her journey working on the set for 34 years and her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis while Peter discusses his path to joining “The Young and the Restless.” Next, the soap opera’s “golden couple,” Michelle Stafford and Joshua Morrow, who play Phyllis and Nick Newman, take the stage with Marie. Michelle and Joshua talk about their start on the show twenty years ago and how their personal lives have changed dramatically since then. Then, Lauralee Bell and Doug Davidson, who play the show’s sweethearts Christine Blair and Paul Williams, sit down and chat with Marie. Lauralee dishes about her return to the show and what it was like being the creators’ daughter while Doug reveals what it was like romancing the bosses’ daughter on screen. Finally, Jeanne Cooper who plays Katherine Chancellor and Jess Walton, whose character is Jill Foster Abbott, are the last of the cast to join Marie. The two discuss their characters rivalry and their favorite on-screen battles. Plus, the cast answers their fans most pressing questions about what goes on in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Marie closes the episode with a tribute to William J. Bell, the co-creator and head writer of “The Young and the Restless.”
If you were already smitten with “The Young and the Restless” star Ignacio Serricchio (Alex Chavez), you’re about to love him even more. Soap Opera Network recently caught up with the busy actor, who spilled about the dangerous way he spends his free time, how he feels about representing Latinos in the media and his thoughts on a possible family member popping up in Genoa City!
First things first, Serricchio loves the thrill of adventure. Not only does the Argentinian-born actor love to rock climb and go camping, he also dives for lobsters! “During lobster season, I’m in the water almost every night,” he boasts, adding that even though you’re only allowed to catch the lobsters by hand, the occasional pinches are worth it. “They’re delicious! In the oven, ceviche style, on the grill, everything.”
There’s no doubt that “The Young and the Restless” has one of the hottest casts on daytime television — strike that, all of television — and as the show gears up for its 40th Anniversary, things are about to get even spicier! The show’s execs recently gathered some of the soap’s hot new faces together for a special event, and Soap Opera Network went along for the ride. Warning: What we found out about sexy stars Robert Adamson (Noah Newman), Lamon Archey (Mason Wilder) and Marco Dapper (Carmine Basco) just may surprise you!
