The official Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards were announced earlier today, and fans of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” may have noticed something peculiar: Both online versions of the shows were much less represented than their network counterparts.

Despite the National Academy of Televisions Arts & Sciences declaring last October that the web sudsers were eligible to compete against “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Young and the Restless,” “Days of our Lives” and “General Hospital,” only four actors are on the list: Oustanding Younger Actress pre-nominees Kelley Missal (Danielle Manning, “OLTL”) and Denyse Tontz (Miranda Montgomery, “AMC”) and Outstanding Younger Actor pre-nominees Corbin Bleu (Jeffrey King, “OLTL”) and Eric Nelson (AJ Chandler, “AMC”).

In response to rampant rumors that she will soon be joining the cast of “General Hospital” in the role of Nina, the comatose wife of Michael Easton‘s Silas Clay, Michelle Stafford (ex-Phyllis Summers, “The Young and the Restless”) has taken to social media to dispel said rumors. The actress tweeted last night, “I want u all to remember as u drift off to sleep…people who start rumors have super little pee pees…,” before wishing her fans and followers a good night’s sleep. Previously, a rep for the ABC Daytime drama series issued a “no comment” to Soap Opera Network when contacted.

“The Young and the Restless” viewers weren’t exactly thrilled when popular actor Billy Miller announced that he would be exiting the role of Billy Abbott, but the rough waters were mostly calmed when former portrayer David Tom (brother of “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Heather Tom [Katie Logan]) swooped in to take back the role. It’s been a fairly smooth transition for most viewers, but jumping into the middle of such an intense storyline — the death of Delia and having been outed for cheating on Victoria (Amelia Heinle) —was a bit of an adjustment for the actor!

Playboy may have found popularity by publishing risqué photos of women, but as the old excuse goes, some people actually read it “for the articles.” And those who picked up the March 2014 issue of the popular mag for reading purposes only were in for a lovely daytime related surprise: The publication stripped down popular primetime series made predominately for a male audience and declares they’re exactly like “The Bold and the Beautiful,” The Young and the Restless,” “General Hospital,” and “Days of our Lives” — with a manly twist.

Long gone but never forgotten characters are popping up left and right on ABC’s “General Hospital,” leaving many fans wondering which fan favorite could be next. The recent reveal that Julian’s (William DeVry) henchmen, Carlos Rivera (Jeffrey Vincent Parise), is from Puerto Rico had many under the impression that he was related to Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) late wife, Lily Rivera (Lilly Melgar), which then lead fans to wonder if Melgar could be headed back to Port Charles!

Alas, the actress has gone on record saying the show has not contacted her to reprise the role — at least, not yet! But she’s very open to the possibility. “Never say never!” she tells Soap Opera Network with a sly smile about whether or not it would be feasible for Lily to have survived the infamous fiery car explosion of 1996.

Melody Thomas Scott may be celebrating her 35th anniversary as “The Young and the Restless’” Nikki Newman, but that doesn’t mean her Genoa City alter ego is the only acting challenge on her plate: She’s booked a guest starring role on CBS’s “The Crazy Ones!” And guess what? The Los Angeles native will be playing a boozy librarian — which won’t be a far stretch, considering Nikki is a recovering alcoholic!

Ever since we reported that a pilot starring Cynthia Watros (Kelly Andrews, “The Young and the Restless”) was picked up by MTV, speculation began that Watros would be leaving “Y&R” to participate in the new MTV series.

Earlier tonight, Watros confirmed our suspicions by tweeting to her fans that she will indeed be leaving the CBS soap. But CBS wasted no time in recasting the role – an hour later Senior Vice President of CBS Daytime Angelica McDaniel announced that former “All My Children” veteran Cady McClain (ex-Dixie Martin) will be replacing her!

On Thursday, March 13Michael Robinson, fullback of the Super Bowl XLVIII champion Seattle Seahawks, will make his acting debut on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” the network announced today.

In a recent interview with “NFL Total Access,” Robinson revealed that his guilty pleasure is “watching the stories,” particularly “Y&R.” After learning of his interest in soaps, producers at the show invited the athlete to make an appearance. Robinson jumped at the chance to visit the soap and was thrilled when he found out that he had been written into an upcoming episode working with Daytime Emmy winner Eric Braeden, who plays Victor Newman.

A rep for the show tells Soap Opera Network that Robinson will portray a man named Michael Robinson, who is the VP Northwest regional Marketing in Seattle and stops by to see Victor.
