After reporting how daytime stacks up when looking at the Adults 18-49 demo as used by primetime advertisers, one has to wonder what daytime looks like in the actual key sales demo of Women 18-49 when it comes to the season-to-date rankings. What's surprising is how poorly "The View" does overall, and how well "General Hospital" is actually doing when factoring in the Live+7* numbers vs. the traditionally reported Live+SD** numbers seen here on Soap Opera Network each week.
As we prepare to publish another week's worth of ratings covering the daytime soaps "The Bold and the Beautiful," "Days of our Lives," "General Hospital" and "The Young and the Restless," we felt it was worth noting the difference between daytime and primetime when it comes to demographics as part of a year-end report.

With a streak that began with the week of December 26, 1988, CBS' "The Young and the Restless" has now stood at the top of the Nielsen ratings among total viewers for 27 consecutive years, it was announced today by Angelica McDaniel, Executive Vice President, Daytime Programs and Syndicated Program Development, CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution.

CBS Daytime to Celebrate Emmys with Live Tweet Week

As has been done in the past, cast and crew from CBS Daytime's "The Young and the Restless," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "The Talk," "Let's Make a Deal" and "The Price is right" are set to live tweet during or after their respective show's east coast broadcast throughout the week of April 20, leading up to the industry's biggest night - "The 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards," airing Sunday, April 26 on Pop, a sister network of CBS.Taking part in the live tweets are: Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood, co-hosts of "The Talk"; Actors Linsey Godfrey, Scott Clifton and Jacob Young from "The Bold and the Beautiful"; Keyboardist Cat Gray and Director Lenn Goodside from "Let's Make a Deal"; Actresses Gina Tognoni and Amelia Heinle from "The Young and the Restless"; and "The Price is Right" Executive Producer Mike Richards (see below...
Nominees for the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in select categories were announced earlier today on CBS' "The Talk." All in ABC's "General Hospital" is leading the pack with 28 nominations. "The Young and the Restless" is right behind with 25 nominations followed by "The Bold and the Beautiful" with 19 noms and "Days of our Lives" with 16.

Just a short time ago, CBS' "The Talk" announced the nominees for the "42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards," which will air live on Sunday, April 26 on Pop. In total, CBS received 62 nominations in a variety of categories including Outstanding Drama Series for "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless," Outstanding Lead, Supporting and Younger Actor for several of daytime biggest talents, along with nominations for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Hosts for "The Talk," Outstanding Game Show for Let's Make a Deal," among a plethora of others.
On the Thursday, March 12 episode of CBS' "The Young and the Restless," fans of the daytime drama series will be introduced to "The Price is Right" male model search winner James O'Halloran, who will guest star as a waiter in scenes with actors Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) and Christian Le Blanc (Michael Baldwin). In an interview with Soap Opera Network, O'Halloran reveals that his appearance on "Y&R" marks the first time he has ever been on the set of an American soap opera, his thoughts on winning the "The Price is Right" male model gig and what's next for the 6'1 Australian native.
#FlirtWithDisaster brought in huge numbers for CBS' "The Young and the Restless," which attracted an average daily audience of 5.58 million viewers during the week of February 16-20, 2015, according to newly released Nielsen Media Research ratings data. The soap was up 7% compared to the same week last year and pulled in its highest numbers in viewers since the week of January 27-31, 2014. Meanwhile, "The Bold and the Beautiful" continues to bring in some of its best numbers in nearly a decade. The soap averaged 4.18 million viewers last week, up 10% compared to the same week last year, and its best since the week of February 12-16, 2007.
