The OnLine Network has announced that Paula Garces (ex-Pilar Santos, “Guiding Light”), best known for her portrayal of Maria in the “Harold & Kumar” film franchise has joined the cast of the networks “All My Children.”
Garces will portray the contract role of Lea Marquez, “a smart, savvy, beautiful woman who’s devoted her life to a career of fighting crime and bringing down the bad guys.
The anticipation for the online launch of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” has been building for months, and with mere weeks left before the shows’ Monday, April 29 debut on Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes, it’s tough for fans to keep a lid on all of that excitement. And it’s about to get even harder to contain the joyous feelings, because several actors from both shows have given some pretty nice hints as to what you can expect once their alter egos reappear in Pine Valley and Llanview!
UPDATE 4:35 PM ET: In a statement released to Soap Opera Network, Prospect Park said, “We want to thank Susie for her contribution to One Life to Live. She is moving on and we wish her well. We have an extraordinary writer’s room at the show and we are looking forward to fans seeing what they’ve been up to when we launch on April 29th.”
PREVIOUS: Soap Opera Network has learned exclusively that Susie Bedsow Horgan has decided to depart TOLN’s “One Life to Live” as Co-Head Writer. It is understood that Bedsow Horgan has opted to leave the soap for personal reasons and informed Prospect Park of her decision late last week.
Z100, New York’s #1 Hit Music Station, is giving soap fans a chance to see the premiere episodes of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” but only if you are a ZVIP member (register here, if you haven’t already).
The casts of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” began their reunions (and for some introductions) on Monday, February 25, when “AMC” began filming scenes for the first time since August 2011, again on Wednesday, February 27 during the Sleepy Hollow Photo Shoot and once more on Monday, March 18 as “OLTL” stepped in front of their cameras for the first time since November 2011. Now The OnLine Network, via Hulu, has released its latest video called “We Are A Family” as the cast and crew discuss the return of the soaps in newly released footage.
For more than 41 years ABC’s “All My Children” entertained millions of viewers each and every weekday, week after week, year after year. Sadly, the network canceled the soap in 2011 and the series aired its then final episode in September of that year. Now, in anticipation of its return on Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes on Monday, April 29, The OnLine Network has released a recap of the series as narrated by Debbi Morgan (Angie Hubbard).
On Wednesday, April 3, the Backstreet Boys gave a shout out to TOLN’s “All My Children” when they tweeted a video of the cast of the soap doing the “Harlem Shake.”
Soap Opera Network has learned exclusively that “One Life to Live’s” Kassie DePaiva (Blair Manning) took to song yesterday during scenes filmed on the Stamford, CT set of the drama series as cast members were left in awe of the power in her voice. DePaiva sang her hit single, “No Regrets,” from her 2004 CD of the same name.
In the emotional scene, Blair takes to song in her new nightclub, Shelter, after things hit a snag for the new establishment. Todd Manning (Roger Howarth) insists Blair entertain the crowd until things can be returned to normal. “No Regrets” features lyrics that are a subtle hint to Todd that Blair’s not over him.
As noted yesterday for “All My Children,” Hulu and TOLN have also released a billboard for “One Life to Live.” With the tag, “Who Says You’ve Only Got One Life to Live?” fans out of the loop will surely be in for a surprise when they see their favorite characters from Llanview have returned.
On Thursday, March 28, when news first broke on the hiring of Jenni ‘JWOWW’ Farley (“Jersey Shore” and “Snooki & JWOWW”) on “One Life to Live” in the recurring role of Nikki, Prospect Park’s The OnLine Network noted, “JWOWW got some acting tips from Josh Kelly, who plays con man Cutter Wentworth. Things got out of control after Kelly showed JWOWW how to do a ‘pretend’ slap. After a brief demonstration, Kelly asked JWOWW to slap, and she really did!” That slap is now available for viewing as MTV takes you being the scenes of JWOWW’s first day on the set of the iconic soap. Also included in the video is Kelly discussing “showmances,” where co-stars find romance off-screen.
