The Lying Game

CBS' "The Young and the Restless" is getting a new head writer in the form of Charles 'Chuck' Pratt, Jr., who is best known for his writing stints at "All My Children," "General Hospital" and "Santa Barbara." The news was first reported by Highlight Hollywood. Thanks to the power of social media, Pratt has already updated his Twitter profile to reflect his writing duties at "Y&R" while also indicating he will receive an executive producer credit.

Although the network and Sony Pictures Television, producers of the series, have yet to issue comment on the matter, Daytime Confidential is reporting that Pratt will lead the writing team of daytime's number one drama series beginning in November.

On the heels of ABC Family giving "Twisted" a back-order pick-up with all new episodes scheduled to premiere in January 2014, comes word that former "All My Children" and "General Hospital" head writer, Charles Pratt, Jr., has been named executive producer and a writer of those upcoming episodes of the hit series. Pratt created and wrote for the recently canceled"The Lying Game."

According to Soap Opera Digest, "General Hospital's" Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine) is back on contract with the ABC Daytime drama series. The actor is quoted by the mag as saying, "It took us a few months to work out the details, but I signed last week." He added, "I'm really happy about it. I love the show and I'm having a great time."

A few weeks back I reported on my personal Twitter page that two actors would be let go by summer's end and it wouldn't be by their own choosing despite how it would be presented by the show. The firing of Ingo Rademacher was not one of those people I alluded to. In an official statement released to ABC Soaps In Depth on their website, the actor said "After 15 years on 'GH' portraying Jax I must say goodbye. I'm fired."
