With just over one month to go until "One Life to Live" makes its online debut, more storyline details and behind-the-scenes pictures are slowly beginning to emerge. However, it isn't only the regular cast and crew that are spilling secrets and posting photos. Several of the show's dayplayers and extras have also started talking about their recent set-side experiences.
When the official "One Life to Live" cast photo shoot was unveiled last month Robin Strasser was one of two contract cast members (Hillary B. Smith being the other) not in attendance at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club with the rest of her c0-stars. However, it was pneumonia and not a snub from her new bosses that kept "One Life's" grand dame from getting her close-up.
Last week, Soap Opera Network featured a Center Stage interview with “One Life to Live’s” legendary veteran, Erika Slezak (Victoria Lord). She opened up about the future of ‘OLTL,’ working with the fresh, young faces on the show, and what it’s been like to have show creator Agnes Nixon back at the helm. And this week, we’re revealing how she feels about Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord), what it’s like working with Roger Howarth (Todd Manning) versus working with Trevor St. John (Victor Lord), and who she’d like to see return to Llanview!
With six Outstanding Lead Actress Daytime Emmy Awards under her belt — or rather, on her shelf — “One Life to Live’s” Erika Slezak (Victoria Lord) is one woman to be respected. So when she says TOLN’s version of the iconic show she’s been a part of for more than 40 years is going to be stellar, you’d damn well better believe her!
Despite an earlier report stating otherwise, based on information from Robin Strasser's (Dorian Lord) telephone hotline, a senior level Prospect Park insider tells Soap Opera Network, "production has NOT been pushed back. This has been long planned to make way for a piece of the storyline that involves new sets and use of certain characters and not others."
According to Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord) via her fan hotline (212-414-5300), "One Life to Live" will now begin filming new episodes for Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes on Monday, March 18. Previously, the series was scheduled to commence filming on Monday, March 11. The actress brought the news to light despite being unwell at the time. Early this morning Strasser tweeted, "What a difference a week makes when you're feeling weak (lol) not sick of word play-just saying."
Child actor Patrick Gibbons, who famously wore the Spiderman costume through several episodes of "One Life to Live" during the soaps final year on ABC, while portraying Sam Manning on the soap, is returning to the series when it resumes production later this month under Prospect Park's TOLN, the actors twitter account confirmed today.
Prospect Park's much anticipated online revivals of long-running soaps "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" continue to inch closer to reality as both shows are scheduled to go into production in the coming weeks ahead of their excepted launch dates on Hulu (and iTunes) sometime in April.
Prospect Park first announced plans to move "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" to the web back in July 2011 after striking a license holding deal with Disney/ABC Domestic Television. Sadly, plans fell through by November 2011 after apparent financing and union discussions fell through. Since that dreadful time period, Prospect Park has resumed work on returning the soaps to your [computer] screens, only this time with financing said to be in place and union deals already signed with the DGA (directors), SAG-AFTRA (actors) and the WGA (writers). With more than a year gone by since "One Life to Live" last aired, we thought it would be a great opportunity to see which stars have (so far) signed on to return to "AMC" and "OLTL" compared to the list circling back in 2011.
