In fact, he says the onset of social media has actually made receiving the honor all the more spectacular! “The support we get from the fans is so immediate now, because of Facebook and Twitter and all of that, and it’s almost like they’re riding along with you. So it’s really exciting!” he says. “Everybody should have something like this in their job, where you step back and get recognized by your peers.”

There’s no doubt that “’” (Adam Newman) is honored to have been nominated for Outstanding Leading Actor for this year’s Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, but believe it or not, he’ll actually be rather upset if he takes home the coveted award come ceremony night!

“I’ve had the luxury of seeing the Lead Actress and the Lead Actors’ reels, and if I’m going to be as honest as I’ve purportedly been since I joined the show… then I would have to, from this point forward, shout from the rooftops that [Patrick Drake, “”] deserves the award,” Muhney admits. “If you watched his performance, and what he did, and the story, how it was so perfectly teed up for a great, brilliantly layered performance by him, there should be an eight out of a 10 chance that he takes this home… So I don’t think I should win. It wouldn’t be fair to Jason.”

Soap Opera Network caught up with the actor during the sudser’s 40th Anniversary Celebration, and he let us in on a few secrets — including the fact that he’s a sucker for all things wedding!

While many guys would much prefer guns, bombs and business to the generally more feminine love, romance and courtship, Goddard isn’t one of them. “I’ve had a lot of action sequences; I was on a show before that was an action-based show [“Beast Master”], and for me now, it’s all about just connecting with the audience and with what I think the audience is responding to,” he says. “This is daytime, and it’s about love and romance.”

On this special episode, Marie celebrates 40 years of the Daytime Emmy® Award winning soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” Marie is first joined by one of the most tumultuous couples on the show, Melody Thomas Scott and , who play Nikki Newman and Jack Abbott. Melody talks about her journey working on the set for 34 years and her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis while Peter discusses his path to joining “The Young and the Restless.” Next, the soap opera’s “golden couple,” and , who play Phyllis and Nick Newman, take the stage with Marie. Michelle and Joshua talk about their start on the show twenty years ago and how their personal lives have changed dramatically since then. Then, and , who play the show’s sweethearts Christine Blair and Paul Williams, sit down and chat with Marie. Lauralee dishes about her return to the show and what it was like being the creators’ daughter while Doug reveals what it was like romancing the bosses’ daughter on screen. Finally, who plays Katherine Chancellor and , whose character is Jill Foster Abbott, are the last of the cast to join Marie. The two discuss their characters rivalry and their favorite on-screen battles. UPDATE 5:00 PM ET: A CBS spokesperson has confirmed to Soap Opera Network that will replace in the role of Kyle Abbott on CBS’ “.” No further information was provided.

PREVIOUS: According to Soap Opera Digest, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” has recast Kyle Abbott, son of Jack Abbott (), with daytime newcomer Hartley Sawyer. The actor replaces Blake Hood, who first aired in the role on April 27, 2012.
