Soap Opera Network caught up with the actor during the sudser’s 40th Anniversary Celebration, and he let us in on a few secrets — including the fact that he’s a sucker for all things wedding!

While many guys would much prefer guns, bombs and business to the generally more feminine love, romance and courtship, Goddard isn’t one of them. “I’ve had a lot of action sequences; I was on a show before that was an action-based show [“Beast Master”], and for me now, it’s all about just connecting with the audience and with what I think the audience is responding to,” he says. “This is daytime, and it’s about love and romance.”

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “” Episode Recap – Monday, October 17, 2011.

IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Neil became the proud papa, after it was revealed that he was Moses’ father. Sofia was curious to know if he had heard anything from Malcolm, but Neil told her no. He went on to share his frustrations of Malcolm always leaving when things got rough. Sofia believed that he merely needed time to adjust. Malcolm soon arrived, followed shortly by the nurse holding the birth certificate. She questioned which man would be signing the document. It was then that an upset Malcolm walked out of the hospital room, leaving Neil and Sofia to sign the documents as the parents of Moses.

Malcolm found himself headed to Restless Style to talk to Phyllis. He shared his disappointment at not being the father of Moses, pointing out that he not only lost a relationship with Sofia, but that of Neil and now a developing one with Moses. Phyllis tried to talk him into making things work with Sofia; that all that mattered was that Moses had love. Unfortunately, Malcolm was still not in the best of spirits on what he should do. Before Phyllis could continue her conversation, Avery arrived. Malcolm quickly departed, thanking Phyllis for listening to him.

Avery irked Phyllis when she told her that she was there to look for Nick. The two exchanged words with one another. As Avery was digging through her purse to write Nick a note, a video game fell out. Spotting it, Phyllis started to question her about still playing video games. It soon came out that Nick gave her the game, which peeved Phyllis. Nick arrived and Avery told him that she wanted him to bring Faith with him to the trail. He told her it was not going to happen; but she thought otherwise. The minute she left, Phyllis wanted to know what was going on between Nick and Avery.

At Gloworm, Neil saw Victor and went over to talk to him. He wanted to know if he had seen Malcolm at all, but Victor told him that he hadn’t. Neil shared the news about Sofia having the baby and that he was the father. Victor told Neil that he would be an excellent father to the baby. Neil voiced concerns on how he would deal with matters regarding Malcolm. Victor pointed out that Neil should spend all the time in the world with his son.

After accusing Nick of ‘infidelity by video game sharing’ with Avery, Phyllis headed to Gloworm, where she approached Victor. She wanted to know why he would hire her sister to take on Sharon’s case. Victor told her when he hired Avery, he knew nothing about the two of them being related. She whined that she didn’t know why he was doing this to her. Victor stared at her in disbelief and pointed out that he was doing nothing to her. He soon gave her a warning not to use Restless Style as a way to mess with Sharon’s trial. Phyllis left the table, telling Victor that all she cares about is writing good news stories.

Nick went to see Sharon, before trial started. She wanted to badly to be reunited with her children. When she asked Nick if it were possible to bring Faith with him to the courthouse, Nick disagreed, sharing that it would only do more harm than good. A nervous Sharon admitted that she regretted not taking the plea offer when it came to her. She once again asked Nick to bring Faith, pleading that she needed to see her daughter. Nick told Sharon that at the last hearing, Faith was troubled at not being able to go to her mother and told her how she was having a problem sleeping. He promised that while Faith would not be there with him, he would be there to give his support.

Avery went to the Athletic Club to find Adam in his suite. She once again tried to get him to do the right thing where Sharon was concerned. She pointed out that at one time he had loved Sharon even so much as to try to find proof to clear her name. He scoffed at her pressing him for help, stating that she wasn’t living up to her reputation if she were coming to him for help. Despite Avery’s words, Adam continued to stare at her stone-faced. Once Avery was out of his room, however, Adam seemed to have thought on her words regarding his ex.

Neil returned to the hospital to see Sofia. He shared that he didn’t want to be an absentee father to Moses. Sofia, however, was still holding out for hope that Malcolm would come around and play an active role in the baby’s life, despite who the father was. When Malcolm showed up, he wanted to talk to Sofia alone. Once Neil was gone, Malcolm said that now that he knows who the father is of Moses, he wanted a divorce from Sofia. She pleaded with him to fight for their relationship, but Malcolm wasn’t hearing it. He planned on flying to Guam to get the divorce and move on. Sofia’s pleading turned into anger as she signed the papers and called him out for always running away from his problems. When Neil arrived, wondering what was going on, Sofia icily informed Neil how Malcolm wanted a divorce and he was on the next plane out. Malcolm, in turn, glared at Neil, huffing out without another word. The minute Sofia started to ball her eyes out Neil immediately was there to comfort her.

Adam was asleep on the couch in his suite. He soon had a dream that he was going to
ward a metal door. Pulling it open, he was startled to see Sharon strapped into an electric chair. When she looked up at her, he could see her fear. She soon was zapped with electricity, which startled Adam out of his dream. Adam immediately tried to compose himself with what he just dreamt.

Sharon received a visit from Victor. She wanted so much for the jury to find her innocent; she missed being with Faith and Noah. Victor mentioned Faith being there in court, but Sharon informed him that Nick didn’t want her to be there. The older Newman pointed out that Faith needed to be there and he would see that she was. After Victor departed, the guard returned. Sharon assumed it was time to head to the court house, but the guard was there with another visitor: Adam. Sharon was not pleased to see him, wanting to know what he was doing there.

In the courtroom, Avery once again tried to get Nick to have Faith there when Sharon’s trial began. Nick, however, pointed out that Sharon understood the reasons why he wouldn’t bring her there. A frustrated Avery lashed out, accusing Nick of doing Sharon the same way as Adam was; denying his support. Nick reminded her that Adam was withholding evidence to clear Sharon, he, however, was being a protective father of his daughter. Avery apologized for her cutting remark, but continued to work the matter about Faith. When Victor arrived, he thrust a court order into Nick’s hand. He told his son that he was now in charge in making sure that Faith was there for her mother. Nick was furious at Victor’s bullying tactics; Avery, however, was delighted that she got her way.

IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Outside, Katherine spotted Harmony in her car. While looking at the car, she noticed that the person was living out of her car. Harmony, who was putting make-up on, looked up and their eyes connected. It was clear that Katherine didn’t know who she was.

Tucker was with Sofia holding Moses, when the doctor came in. Sofia let her know that Tucker was aware of the paternity test. When she stepped out, Tucker asked Sofia who she wanted the baby to belong to. Meanwhile, Neil, who was with Devon and Lily, asked how his talk with Tucker went. Devon said that he accepted apology, but it didn’t change who he was. Lily, listening to the conversation, was in agreement, clearly thinking on her situation with Cane. Neil told Lily to trust her instincts. When he received a call from the hospital, he shared the news that he was headed there regarding the paternity test.

At Crimson Light, Phyllis sat down with Malcolm. He showed her a picture of Moses. As she looked at it, she asked him if he was still mad at her. He told her that he wasn’t pleased but had other things on his mind. She pressed him to tell her what was going on. After promising not to blab, Phyllis found out that a paternity test was going to be done. She also learned that Neil and Sofia had an affair together. Phyllis talked up Malcolm, telling him that he should be the baby’s father. While he worried that the baby wouldn’t be his, Phyllis continued to give him hope.

Chloe learned that the tests that were one on Delia showed positive signs to do the bone marrow transplant. When the nurse left, Chloe commented on Billy not being there for her. Victoria told her that she was doing fine on her own. Chloe thanked her for being there with her. As for Billy, he was in the trailer with Kevin, grilling him about Victoria. He wanted to know if she mentioned anything about divorcing him. Kevin said not specifically; but she did want to move on. When Billy started to ask Kevin to do him a favor, Kevin said he was already too in deep as it was. Victor arrived, giving them the news that Delia’s bone marrow transplant would take place today. He once again threw his weight around, telling Billy that once she was healthy, he could remove himself from their lives.

While Tucker cheered Sofia up regarding the paternity, Devon and Lily also did the same for Neil. When Devon asked Neil how things would be if Sofia wasn’t with Malcolm, he quickly stopped the topic; pointing out that Sofia was with Malcolm. Lily and Neil were heading out when Katherine showed up, wanting to talk to Devon. Devon was reluctant to let her in but did so. She didn’t want him to miss out on his chances at his dream, but he wanted no part of her. She stressed that she wasn’t using his career opportunity as a way to get even with Tucker. Katherine told Devon that they were family and that she wanted to make things right. When he compared her to Yolanda/Harmony, she said they were nothing alike. He told her that she stopped by also, to apologize. He showed her a picture of her. Katherine realized the woman she saw in her car was Devon’s mother. She vowed to regain Devon’s trust in her.

Tucker saw Harmony applying for a job at Gloworm. He claimed that he wanted to make it up to her. His way of making it up was by writing a check. When he handed it to her, he told her that he wanted her to leave town immediately. Harmony was peeved that he was trying to get her out of town so he can have Devon to himself to make things right. Tucker didn’t deny that he wanted to spend time with Devon. Harmony refused to be bought, telling him that all the money in the world that he had couldn’t compare to the love that she had for her son. She tossed the check back in his face and walked out.

Kevin was at the hospital; so was Billy; both in separate rooms. Dr. Larson expressed her un-easiness regarding the nature of performing the bone marrow transplant. She asked Victor and the assisting doctor to leave the room so she could talk to Billy alone. She asked him if he was there against his will. Billy said he did everything just to get there to save his daughter’s life. Victor, meanwhile, told the assisting doctor to make sure that Billy didn’t leave the room or that anyone came to see him.

Lily once again ran into Cane in the park. He hurriedly ended a phone conversation. Lily soon deduced that Cane was talking to his father. She stressed how he once again is lying to her. She started to rethink her decision of letting Cane spend time with the twins, afraid that once again he’d put them in danger.

Phyllis went to the hospital with Malcolm and saw baby Moses. Sofia shared with Phyllis that she named the baby after her father. When Phyllis left to get coffee, Sofia realized that Malcolm shared the news of the paternity. When Malcolm commented that he knew she wanted Neil to be the father, she told him not to think that way. Malcolm shared his love for the baby. He went over to hold the baby with Sofia. At that moment, Neil walked in, witnessing the scene.

Kevin was dismayed at having to continue playing along with the ruse of having the bone marrow surgery. Chloe came in to check on him. She bought him a thank you gift, which made Kevin feel worse, especially when Victoria wheeled Delia in to see him, handing him a picture she drew of him as a hero. Billy, in the meantime, woke up to Victor’s presence in the hospital room. Billy commented how Victor was protecting Victoria by purposely denying him being with his own child. Victor showed lack of care, though, pointing out that once Delia was better, he wanted Billy out of town for good.

Katherine went back to Harmony’s car to meet with her. She asked if she had a place to stay. Harmony was leery of her, telling her she didn’t need her charity. Katherine revealed that she knew who she was, and wanted to help her. Devon went to Gloworm to get something to eat and bumped into Tucker. Tucker wanted them to have lunch. When Devon spotted the check, he deduced that Tucker tried to buy Harmony off. Tucker said that he was merely showing generosity. Devon laughed at his comment, telling him to take his money and shove it.

A musical montage played as Delia and Kevin smiled at one another. Victoria bumped into Victor, who was still lurking about at the hospital. Cane pleaded with Lily to see the twins, as she walked away. Also at the hospital, Malcolm handed Moses to Neil, who was revealed to be the baby’s father. Meanwhile, Katherine opened up her home to Harmony.

CBS

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “” Episode Recap – Monday, October 10, 2011.

IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Ashley tried to do her best to comfort a numb Tucker, after learning the news that Devon is his son. He shared that he had wished he would have found him sooner. The two continued to talk, and Ashley shared her feelings about Katherine purposely keeping Tucker and everyone else in the dark about Devon’s paternity. Meanwhile, at Crimson Lights, Cane and Malcolm overheard Eden reading a portion of the Restless Style article about Devon’s new family ties. Malcolm was furious at the lack of trust he had with Phyllis; while Cane awaited for Daniel’s arrival, asking the young man to be there for Lily.

Nick was upset with Phyllis for writing the article. Phyllis told Nick that it was information that was huge for everyone to know, therefore it was their job to break big stories. Nick believed Phyllis went behind his back as an attempt to start a fight with him. He stated that when things seemed to get good between them, she’d do something to ruin it. Phyllis snapped at Nick when he brought up Avery in their discussion. He gave Phyllis a warning: be prepared for many confrontations for what she had done. When he departed, Malcolm showed up, lashing out at Phyllis for putting something that was in confidence out there for all to see.

At a diner, Yolanda, who wanted to be known as Harmony, was stunned to see the article on a customer’s laptop. She asked her boss if she could take off to tend to her son, but he refused. Meanwhile, Devon, who was still in shock, received advice from Neil not to pass criticism on either Yolanda or Tucker. Devon pointed out to Neil that the only family he knows is him, Lily and Sofia. They soon received a phone call from Katherine, asking Devon to see her at the hospital. Neil told Devon to be careful when dealing with her.

Things weren’t good between Sofia and Neil, who still couldn’t believe her dedication to Tucker. Sofia hit a nerve when she said she wanted to help Devon to get to know his father. Neil was dead set against it. He said that she only cared about Tucker, while his main priority was to care for Devon. As he left to go search for his missing cell phone, Sofia went into labor.

Devon was at the hospital when he ran into Abby, who was outside by Katherine’s hospital room. When Abby commented on Katherine’s condition, she was floored when Devon called Katherine his grandmother. He filled her in on how Katherine learned and withheld the truth about who his father was from everyone. As for Tucker, he continued to doubt that Devon would embrace him as a father. Ashley did her best to comfort him, sharing that if Devon got to know him the way she has, he will grow to love and become close to him.

Standing outside by Katherine’s hospital room, Devon recalled his excitement to the job offer Katherine gave him, but recalled Tucker’s warning about her. When he entered his room, her kind words fell on deaf ears. Devon was angry that she used the truth as a way to get back at Tucker. Katherine told her grandson that she didn’t want Tucker to use him. As the two talked, Cane, who was there to see Katherine as well, listened in on a portion of their conversation. Katherine wanted to make things right; Devon said do right by apologizing to Neil first of all. Before leaving, Devon told Kay that he wanted nothing from her. A heartbroken Katherine came face-to-face with Cane, who offered to be there for her.

Abby took great delight in trashing Tucker, calling him a pathetic excuse of a father. She continued to trash talk him, saying that while he wanted to live the life of a rock star, he left Devon in the care of a druggie mother. Ashley quickly came to Tucker’s defense, telling Abby that she won’t allow her to talk to him that way. A determined Abby wouldn’t let up, telling her mother that Tucker ruins everyone that comes in his path. Just then, Tucker received word from his PR manager that he and Devon all all over the Restless Style article Phyllis put out. Tucker immediately worried about Devon’s emotions.

Neil showed up with his resignation for Katherine. She wanted to talk with him about things but he didn’t want to. She sobbed, saying that Neil was a wonderful friend to her. Neil pointed out that they ‘used to be friends’. He walked out of the room, leaving Katherine even more upset.
Devon went home, still numb by all that was happening to him. He soon heard someone by his door and was stunned to be face-to-face with his mother.

Cane saw Lily at the coffeehouse and began to see how she was doing. She expressed her gratitude to him for being a good support to her. While Lily was expressing her gratitude, Daniel, on the other hand, was ripping into his mother for her actions regarding Devon. He stated all she cared about was herself. Phyllis pointed out that she cared about him. He scoffed at her, pointing out how she set out to get what she wanted: Lucy, Nick and to out-do the magazine competition. He snapped that he hoped she was happy. She stormed off.

Neil learned from Malcolm that Sofia went into labor. He was surprised, since the baby wasn’t due for another month.
Ricky had a brief run in with Eden. After he helped her from dropping her laptop, the two gave one another a quick once over. When Ricky met with Avery at the Athletic Club, then busied themselves with the search for possible jury members. He asked her if they could take a break but she wanted to keep working; that was until Nick showed up. He asked if they were doing work on Sharon’ case, but Ricky quipped that Avery was all about work. Avery soon changed her mind on the break, in an effort to talk to Nick. As the two talked, she accidentally knocked over a glass of water, splashing Nick’s jacket. When she tried to dry him off, she bumped over another glass of water. Avery apologized and went to get napkins to help Nick. While she was gone, Phyllis arrived, only seeing Nick. She was set to go over to him but stopped in her tracks when she saw a giggly Avery dabbing Nick dry.
