At the 2013 Writers Guild Awards, “The Young and The Restless” beat out “Days of our Lives” and “One Life To Live” for their fifth win. The show previously won in 2003, 2006, 2008, and 2010.

“The Young and The Restless” win includes writers Amanda Beall, Jeff Beldner, Brent Boyd, Susan Dansby, Janice Ferri Esser, Jay Gibson, Scott Hamner, Maria Kanelos, Natalie Minardi Slater, Beth Milstein, Michael Montgomery, Anne Schoettle, Linda Schreiber, Lisa Seidman, Sarah K. Smith, Christopher J. Whitesell, and Teresa Zimmerman; CBS

The Writers Guild of America have announced the nominations for the 2013 Writers Guild Awards.  In the Daytime Drama category, “Days Of Our Lives,” “One Life To Live,” and “The Young and The Restless” were nominated.  Winners will be determined on February 17, 2013.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) – “Days of our Lives” makes massive changes to its writing staff.

Breakdown writer Victor Gialanella and scripts writers Pete T. Rich, Roger Schroeder, Nancy Williams Watt and Lacey Dyer have been let go – all of them joined under the previous writing regime.    Joining “DAYS” is breakdown Dave Ryan, and scripts writers Melissa Salmons and Janet Iacobuzio.

Over at “The Young and The Restless,” Jeff Beldner has joined as a breakdown writer. Beldner was at “All My Children” (1989 – 1998, 2001- 2011) and “As The World Turns” (1998-2001).
