“General Hospital” has seen a whirlwind of publicity celebrating its 50th Anniversary, and it looks like “Katie” is the next show to join in on the fun and feature the iconic soap and its beloved stars. Host Katie Couric and an audience filled with die-hard “GH” fans will be spending a full hour paying homage to the long-running drama, and several Port Charles residents are slated to participate!
As previously reported by Soap Opera Network, ABC News’ “20/20″ will be honoring the 50th anniversary of ABC’s “General Hospital” on Saturday, April 6. Dubbed “‘General Hospital’ – The Real Soap Dish,” Katie Couric will take viewers behind the scenes of the fictional town of Port Charles, NY. The hour-long special will include interviews with such “GH” stars as Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer), Genie Francis (Laura Spencer), Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones), Rick Springfield (Noah Drake), Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia Falconeri) and many more. Fans will also get to hear from Frank Valentini, who has spearheaded the soap into increased ratings since taking over as executive producer in January 2012.
“General Hospital’s” Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones) has been a busy man. In addition to his upcoming Sunday, March 17 appearance on “Celebrity Apprentice” with “All My Children’s” Susan Lucci (Erica Kane), which you can read more about here, he’s also set to appear on Nick at Nite’s original series, “See Dad Run”!
The live-action family comedy follows David Hobbs (played by Scott Baio), who, after ten years of starring as America’s favorite TV dad, becomes a stay-at-home father to honor the deal he made with his soap star wife (Alanna Ubach), so she may return to the spotlight.
If you think “All My Children’s” Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) and “General Hospital’s” Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones) have done it all, think again: The two are now joining forces — or rather facing off — on NBC’s hit reality competition program, “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice.”
On Friday, March 1, during the east coast broadcast of ABC’s “General Hospital”” (2:00 – 3:00 PM ET/11:00 AM – 12:00 PM PT), fans of Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones) will be able to chat live with the soap star as he discusses his characters quest to win the heart of ex-wife Felicia (Kristina Wagner). In the episode, Frisco reiterates his intention to win Felicia back, and later Felicia confides her quandary to Duke (Ian Buchanan), who urges her to face the problem head on.
Earlier today we posted our ratings report for the week of February 4-8, 2013 and it looks as though the debut of Steve Burton on “The Young and the Restless” and Jack Wagner‘s return to “General Hospital” have helped bring new (or returning) viewers back to daytime television.
Cleveland is getting hotter as TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland” brings in soap stars Cameron Mathison (“All My Children”) and a returning Jack Wagner (“General Hospital,” “Melrose Place”) for guest stints.
On the Wednesday, January 30 episode of the hit series, entitled ”The Anger Games,” Mathison will portray Bill, the buddy of Melanie’s (Valerie Bertinelli) boyfriend, Alec (Jay Harrington), who is set up with Joy (Jane Leeves). Meanwhile, Elka (Betty White) tries her hand at being Victoria’s (Wendie Malick) agent. In the end, gossip and secrets circulate among the group of women as things come to a head at their monthly game night.
As previously reported, Jack Wagner is returning to ABC’s “General Hospital” to reprise his role as Frisco Jones on the daytime drama series. Soap Opera Network first reported on word of Wagner’s return to the set on Monday, January 14, following a now squashed Twitter controversy surrounding the actor and now co-star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis). The two appeared separately in the Monday, January 7 episode of “Castle,” which also happens to air on ABC.
As Soap Opera Network first noted last week, actor Jack Wagner has quietly returned to the set of ABC’s “General Hospital” as he reprises the role of Frisco Jones on the daytime soap. According to set side sources and a recent report by TV Guide‘s Michael Logan, Wagner’s return will coincide with “GH’s” 50th Anniversary celebration. While details are scarce, sources tell Soap Opera Network that the network will kick off a week long celebration beginning with the Monday, April 1 broadcast that also happens to be the same day “General Hospital” aired its first episode 50 years prior.
Despite appearing in an episode of “Castle” last Monday, even if they didn’t share any scenes together, actress Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took on the topic of Jack Wagner while chatting it up with fans on Twitter during last nights “Golden Globe” Awards broadcast on NBC. The actress talked herself into a Twitter controversy courtesy of a tweet she made in regards to Wagner when she said, ”Does anyone else think Bon Jovi looks like a less drunk Jack Wagner?” The tweet has since been removed from her page.
