Llanview Publishing Wars: ‘The Banner’ in Trouble?

When “One Life to Live” returns next month, things won’t exactly going well for at least one longtime Llanview resident. According to “OLTL” Co-Head Writer Thom Racina, technology and tough economic times may have finally caught up with the town’s matriarch Victoria Lord (Erika Slezak) and her family’s newspaper The Banner.

Soap Opera Network has learned that television newcomer Caitlainne Rose Gurreri has landed the heavily recurring role of Eileen on TOLN’s “All My Children.” The actress is understood to be featured alongside Sal Stowers (Cassandra Foster) in a ripped from the headlines like storyline that sources say finds the characters of Jesse Hubbard (Darnell Williams) and Zach Slater (Thorsten Kaye) working together to bring down Vlad and Yuri, who are involved in a sex trafficking ring.

TOLN’s “One Life to Live” announced today that “High School Musical” star Corbin Bleu (as Chad Danforth) has joined its cast in the contract role of Jeffrey King. The character is described as a ” brilliant young reporter who moves to Llanview to work for publisher, Victoria Lord (Erica Slezak) at Llanview’s newspaper, The Banner.” Soap Opera Network first brought you word on the character being part of the Banner family back on February 19. According to TOLN, the character is a friend of Matthew Buchanan (Robert Gorrie) and Danielle Manning (Kelley Missal).

ABC, CBS, and NBC are not in the the mood to show you the fantasy of daytime drama on Christmas day. The networks have decided to ignore it’s female demographic, and go after the men and children in the house courtesy of Christmas specials and sports, sports and more sports.
