ABC’s “General Hospital” is fast becoming the place to be to hopefully find the one it seems as another pair of stars have revealed their real-life relationship status, this time via social media.
Hot on the heels of word that Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) and Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacchara) were an item, and the recent revelation of Kristen Alderson (Kiki Jerome) and Chad Duell (Michael Quartermaine) hooking up, comes word that Bryan Craig (Morgan Corinthos) and Kelly Thiebaud (Britt Westbourne) are also a couple!
After a Twitter hoax raised, then dashed the hopes of “General Hospital” fans looking to see John Reilly return to the ABC Daytime drama series as Sean Donnelly, rumors have continued to persist, but the actor has set the record straight via Soap Opera Network.
“Tainted Dreams,” the new web series from the creative mind of “All My Children” supervising producer Sonia Blangiardo, which looks to provide a rare, realistic view behind the scenes of producing a daily scripted drama (show within a show – “Painted Dreams”), has added Bobbie Eakes (“All My Children,” “The Bold and the Beautiful”) to its cast. Eakes joins the recently signed Ilene Kristen (“One Life to Live,” “Ryan’s Hope”), James DePaiva ( “OLTL”) and Tonja Walker (“OLTL”) to round out an all star cast of soap stars.
It’s been an eventful “General Hospital” Fan Club Weekend thus far and so far we’ve learned that Laura Wright (Carly Jacks) has renewed her contract with the ABC Daytime soap as the actress tells Soap Opera Network, “I just recently signed a four year contract.” The actress joined the “GH” cast in November 2005.
Earlier this year, ABC’s “General Hospital” released “Love In Maine,” which was a corporate tie-in with Disney/ABC Television Group’s Hyperpion Books and the debut novel by the fictional “GH” character Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos). Unfortunately, upon release Connie Falconeri had all the credit until TJ (Tequan Richmond), Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Shawn (Sean Blakemore) helped Molly set the record straight on the soap. Five months since the release of “Maine,” Hyperion Books has announced it plans to release the sequel to the novel as an eBook.
“Beautiful Stephanie Campbell thinks she has heard every line from every sleazy guy in Maine. Then Jimmy Post–well dressed, good-looking, and so self-assured–walks into the VA clinic where she works as a nurse and tells her she is beautiful. Stephanie thinks he is another creep hitting on her and gives him back a mouthful. But that night when she shows up at the pre-wedding party for her dear friend Maddie, who should she see but Jimmy–who just happens to be the bride’s brother and a self-made multimillionaire. Sparks fly. But will the small-town girl and the big-city hotshot find permanent happiness?” reads the description of the book, which can be purchased here.
“Main Squeeze” is scheduled for release on Tuesday, August 13. A paperback edition is currently unavailable.
Shortly after it was announced that Kelly Sullivan would be departing ABC’s “General Hospital,” as a result of the soap opting to write her characters (Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri) off the canvas, the actress stated on her Facebook page, “I am not returning to ‘GH’ after August. This is not a contract issue, I have been written off the show.”
It was unclear at the time whether August meant airdate or tape date. Things have since become clear as the actress has revealed on her Twitter page that she will be taping her last episode of the daytime drama series today, which means her last airdate will be sometime in August.

With filming scheduled to begin in and around New York City on Monday, July 29, “Tainted Dreams,” the new web series from the creative mind of “All My Children” supervising producer Sonia Blangiardo and provides a rare, realistic view behind the scenes of producing a daily scripted drama, has added three more daytime stars to its cast and they are all formerly of “One Life to Live.”
NYC BRAND PRODUCTIONS, which is producing the online series, has announced Ilene Kristen (ex-Roxy Balsom), James DePaiva (ex-Max Holden) and Tonja Walker (ex-Alex Alinov) have all signed on to the soap within a soap.
Anyone who follows “General Hospital’s” Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones, ex-Dominick Marone, “The Bold and the Beautiful”) on Twitter knows that he’s used the social media site to air a lot of personal thoughts over the past few weeks following the death of his dog, Stanley. The actor has opened up about loss and addiction, among other things. But this week, he’s taken his admissions to a whole new level by bashing “GH” and the way the executives and writers handled the sudser’s 50th anniversary!
Casting for Hallmark’s upcoming backdoor pilot, “My Gal Sunday” has been in full swing, and three of the series’ major players have finally been confirmed: Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery, “All My Children”), Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones, “General Hospital;” ex-Dominick Marone, “The Bold and the Beautiful”) and Rachel Blanchard (“Clueless;” “7th Heaven”).
