REVIEW: Breaking Down ‘One Life to Live’

As evidenced by the first episode of “,” life in Llanview has continued long after the soap ended its ABC run in January 2012. No, we don’t mean that the soap has jumped ahead five years as sister soap “” has done in order to progress its storylines, we mean characters didn’t just walk upstairs to the attic and kept silent and still while the millions of fans mourned their reported last breaths. Scheduled to re-launch on Monday, April 29 via , Plus and , the soap is about to take things higher with the opening of Blair’s new night club, Shelter, as the backdrop to getting things moving once .

UPDATE: TOLN Releases ‘One Life to Live’ Video Recap to Prepare Viewers for a Return to Llanview that Includes New Clips!

UPDATE 4/7/13: While it is the same duration in length, has released a revised version of the “” recap video. The revised video removes usage of Little Richard singing and playing the piano during Bo and Nora’s 1995 wedding. To accomodate, fans are able to see an additional second or two of the wedding as the duo walks up the aisle.

PREVIOUS 4/4/13: For than 43 years ABC’s “One Life to Live” entertained millions of viewers each and every weekday, week after week, year after year. Sadly, the network canceled the soap in 2011 and the series aired its then final episode in January 2012. Now, in anticipation of its return on , and on Monday, April 29, has released a recap of the series as hosted by (Victoria Lord Buchanan).

Nearly 8 minutes in length, Slezak covers the trials and tribulations faced by the youth of Llanview, including the birth of Destiny Evans and Matthew Buchanan’s (previously played by Shenell Edmonds and ) child, The Tale of Todd, Blair and Tea (, and Florencia Lozano) and the whole Manning clan – including Victor Lord, Jr. (Trevor St. John)!

Hulu Exec Provides Behind the Scenes Preview of ‘OLTL’

On Wednesday, March 20, , Head of Content Acquisition, , visited the set of the internet hub’s recent acquisition of ‘s “.” In a posting on Twitter, Kruglov said, “Holy cow everything looks impressive. Excited to launch it and #AMC on 4/29.” The tweet was accompanied by a behind the scenes photo that shows actress  in a scene as Tea Delgado in a beautiful new set presumed to be her characters newly re-designed digs. It was previously feared by many fans that both “OLTL” and “” would go the route of Peapack, NJ as “” did in its latter years in order to save on production costs.

Kristen Alderson, Roger Howarth and Michael Easton Staying at ‘GH’ After All

Despite ‘s announcement early this morning, where he stated that after February 8th he would be exiting “,” along with and , due to “some ongoing legal this and that,” an ABC spokesperson tells Soap Opera Network that all three will remain an essential part of the “GH” canvas for the foreseeable future as the three are under contract with the network and not .

“‘General Hospital’ is excited about Michael Easton, Kristen Alderson and Roger Howarth staying on the show and we are exploring ways to allow that to happen,” read a statement from ABC, which did not provide further input on how the series would accomplish just that. Previously, the network stated, “There are on-going collaborative conversations,” in response to word that Prospect Park wanted to return the characters of Starr Manning (Alderson), Todd Manning (Howarth) and John McBain (Easton) to Llanview after formerly announcing it’s decision to re-launch “” later this spring. The production company licensed the rights to “OLTL’s” characters in July 2011 in a long-term distribution agreement between it and , part of the Disney/ABC Television Group.

Prospect Park: Who Signed the First Time, But (So Far) Not This Time Around?

first announced plans to move “” and “” to the web back in July 2011 after striking a license holding deal with . Sadly, plans fell through by November 2011 after apparent financing and union discussions fell through. Since that dreadful time period, Prospect Park has resumed work on returning the soaps to your [computer] screens, only this time with financing said to be in place and union deals already signed with the DGA (directors), SAG-AFTRA (actors) and the WGA (writers). With than a year gone by since “One Life to Live” last aired, we thought it would be a great opportunity to see which stars have (so far) signed on to return to “AMC” and “OLTL” compared to the list circling back in 2011.

BREAKING NEWS: Prospect Park Announces Partial Cast, Writers, Producers, etc of ‘AMC’ and ‘OLTL’

today announced an initial listing of writers, producers and cast members who have signed on for the online reboots of “All My Children” and “.” The company has formally announced and Thom Racina as head writers of “OLTL.” Thorsten Kaye and bring the “AMC” cast count to 7 stars signed. “OLTL” adds Erika Slezak, , , , Melissa Archer, Hillary B. Smith, Kelley Missal, and , who join previously signed , Robin Strasser and Jerry verDorn. With the exception of Strasser, Woods, and Smith, Prospect Park has secured most of the actors signed on during the first round of plans to reboot the soaps back in 2011.

Florencia Lozano Brings Téa Back to Llanview!

 will once again be reprising her role of Téa Delgado on ABC’s “,” only this time she’ll be popping up in Llanview.

Soap Opera Network has learned that while Lozano is back for an unknown number of episodes, the actress will once again appear on the drama series after an unexpected visitor pays her character a visit on the Friday, September 7 episode.

Lozano’s return is said to coincide with a major cliffhanger the soap has planned that will help entice viewers to tune in for the Monday, September 10 episode, which is when the soap kicks things off in its new timeslot – a slot that was previously held by “” up until it aired its final episode nearly nine months ago to the day.

“General Hospital” moves to 2:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT/CT beginning Monday, September 10, on ABC. The show will not experience a timeslot shift on SOAPnet.
