According to Deadline, Prospect Park has filed a lawsuit against ABC claiming the network “has been breaking the licensing agreement and sabotaging Prospect Park’s efforts to continue ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live’ online.” Prospect Park is seeking $25 million in monetary damages. It is understood that the lawsuit won’t hinder the launches of either soap when they premiere in less than two weeks nor take away from the red carpet premiere schedule for next week in New York City.

Deadline is reporting that “Revenge” star Emily VanCamp has landed the female lead role in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the sequel to the 2011 blockbuster film starring hearthrob Chris Evans as the title character. This would will mark VanCamp’s first major motion picture since 2005′s “The Ring Two.” Marvel Studios, part of the Walt Disney Company, has slated April 4, 2014 as a release date, but production has yet to begin. The film is being directed by Joe and Anthony Russ. Scarlett Johansson is expected to reprise her role of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow from “The Avengers,” which became the third biggest film after grossing over $1.5 billion in worldwide box-office in 2012.

In a report outlining the tremendous turnaround daytime soap operas have experienced in recent months, following five years of consistent cancellations, which found numerous soaps ending their runs starting with “Passions” in 2008, “Guiding Light” in 2009, “As The World Turns” in 2010, “All My Children” in 2011 and “One Life to Live” in 2012, Deadline is reporting that CBS and ABC are about to forgo another year of fan heartbreak. According to the sites sources, the networks are expected to continue production of “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “General Hospital” for the foreseeable future. This news would follow in line with NBC’s recent announcement that it had renewed “Days of our Lives” through the next television season (2013-2014).

As Soap Opera Network first reported on March 16, Deadline‘s Nellie Andreeva is reporting that ABC has officially canceled “The Revolution” and plans to slide “General Hospital” into the 2:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT timeslot beginning Monday, September 10, the same day the network hands over the 3:00 PM ET/2:00 PM PT time period to affiliates. The news was later reported by The New York Times.

It was last week Wednesday (April 4, 2012) when Soap Opera Network Tweeted, via a very reliable source, that within ten days a decision on the future of “General Hospital” would be made by the network. Tomorrow, April 12 (or Saturday, April 14, depending on how you look at it), marks the one year anniversary of Black Thursday (April 14, 2011), which is best known to many as the day that ABC announced the cancellations of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” and the launches of “The Chew” and “The Revolution.” It was also the day Source Interlink announced a licensing deal with American Media over Soap Opera Digest and newly defunct Soap Opera Weekly.
