Dancing with the Stars
"General Hospital's" Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) is returning to ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." Monaco was the first winner of the infamous mirror ball trophy and helped launch the competition series into the hit it became. She joins fellow former "Dancing" stars as Kirstie Alley, Shawn Johnson, Drew Lachey, Apolo Anton Ohno, Emmitt Smith, Joey Fatone, Pamela Anderson, Helio Castroneves, Melissa Rycroft, Gilles Marini, and Bristol Palin.
As previously reported, soap star and recent dancing fiend Jack Wagner was a scheduled guest on the daily syndicated talk show "Anderson Cooper." The actor filmed his appearance earlier today at the New York studio of the talk show, which is scheduled to air on Tuesday, April 10 in national syndication, and was joined by his newly discovered 23-year-old daughter, Kerry.
Jack Wagner, 52, is a soap opera legend and singer, but for millions of viewers he's a dancing star courtesy of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." The actor joined the 14th cycle (season) of the reality-competition series along with such celebrities as Melissa Gilbert (actor, "Little House on the Prairie"), Sherri Shepherd (talk show host and actress, "The View"), Jaleel White (actor, "Family Matters"), Gladys Knight (singer), Donald Driver (NFL star, "Green Bay Packers"), William Levy (latin soap star), Katherine Jenkins (opera star), Gavin DeGraw (singer), Martina Navratilova (tennis star), Roshon Fegan (actor, "Shake It Up!) and Maria Menounos (TV host and correspondent), but what fans truly want to know is if Wagner is heading back to ABC's "General Hospital" after being taken off contract by CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful" in early February.
Days after being declared one of the Sexiest Men Alive by People Magazine in the Special Double Issue on newsstands right now, J.R. Martinez achieved what many fully expected and took home the mirror ball trophy on "Dancing With the Stars." Tonight, season thirteen's most charming - and naturally talented - contestant beat out talk-show host and film actor Ricki Lake and her professional partner Derek Hough as well as reality television personality Rob Kardashian and his professional partner Cheryl Burke to help bring his professional partner Karina Smirnoff her first "DWTS" win in no less than ten attempts.
With an amazing spirit that shines from the inside out and a very quick learning curve, Iraq war veteran and motivational speaker J.R. Martinez wasted little time winning over legions of "All My Children" fans after joining the cast of the popular daytime drama in November of 2008. The fearless 28-year old has gone on to win over the hearts of millions more since joining the cast of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." Along with soaring to the top of the leaderboard on the popular dance show, the actor has emerged as arguably the most popular star of the 13th season and a role model to many who may have never heard of him before.
This evening, ABC confirmed the list of contestants for the 13th season of "Dancing with the Stars." The list leaked earlier today on Twitter proved to be accurate. Both lists included actor J.R. Martinez, 28, from "All My Children." Martinez is a veteran of the Iraq war and a highly sought-after motivational speaker for the causes that effect his fellow veterans. He joined the 41-year old ABC soap as Brot Monroe in November of 2008. Martinez follows in the foot steps of former "DWTS" winner Kelly Monaco (Sam, "General Hospital") and his "AMC" co-stars and former "DWTS" contestants Cameron Mathison (Ryan) Susan Lucci (Erica) and Aiden Turner (ex-Aidan).Joining Martinez will be a slew of figures from the entertainment (actors, reality stars, commentators, and musicians) and sports world including:
Beginning on Monday, September 12 look for John O'Hurley to debut in the role of film producer Kit Sterling on "All My Children." Mr. Sterling will approach Pine Valley's leading lady Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) in an effort to convince her to turn her new book, "Erica Kane: Uncensored," into a big-screen production. O'Hurley is best known for the recurring role of Elaine's (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) boss John Peterman on the former NBC mega-hit series "Seinfeld" and his stint on the first season of ABC's hit reality series "Dancing with the Stars." He also hosted the popular syndicated game show "Family Fued."
Just days before next cycle's "Dancing with the Stars" cast is announced during Monday's episode of ABC's "Bachelor Pad," comes word that actor Jack Wagner, who portrays Nick Marone on CBS' "The Bold and the Beautiful," is rumored to be joining the cast in the upcoming 11th season of the hit ABC reality-competition series.
