When Ted Corday and Betty Corday watched “Days of our Lives’” NBC debut on November 8, 1965, they couldn’t have known that the soap opera they created would garner so much success. Now, 48 years later, the show not only is coming off of an Outstanding Drama Series win from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, it’s comprised of a talented and close-knit cast who all have very special memories regarding their time with the popular show. Soap Opera Network spoke with a few said castmembers, and in celebration of the show’s 48th anniversary, they were all too happy to share some of their favorite moments from the early days and beyond!

Friday, November 8 marks the 48th anniversary of “Days of our Lives,” and you better believe there’s a celebration in the works! The Betty and Ted Corday created susder is having an on-set gathering for the cast, crew and executives, and they’re working hard to make sure fans like you are a part of it!

After 72 years on air between radio and television, CBS's "Guiding Light" will cease broadcasting on the CBS Television Network due to low ratings. Love may save the world, but apparently it wasn't enough to save television's longest running daytime drama. Even with having its name published in the Guinness World Record Book and winning three Daytime Emmy's for Best Drama Series (the most recent being in 2007), "GL" found itself unable to withstand the mass exodus of viewers from the traditional daytime soap format in recent years.
