Described as the love story behind “Doctor Zhivago,” the award-winning play “Lightning from Heaven,” written by “General Hospital” script writer Scott Sickles, will open for a limited engagement at New York City’s WorkShop Theater beginning Thursday, February 14th.
On Thursday, January 24, former “All My Children” star Christina Bennett Lind (ex-Bianca Montgomery) began appearing in the role of Susy Hendrix, a blind woman who finds herself opening doors to a psychopathic game of deceit and murder, in the John W. Engeman Theater Production of “Wait Until Dark.”

The story begins with Susy’s husband, Sam (portrayed by Steven Alan O’Brien), who’s persuaded by a strange woman to transport a doll across the Canadian border not knowing he is smuggling illicit drugs into the United States at the same time. Shortly afterward, Susy becomes the target of three-con men, headed by Roat (portrayed by actor Michael Sharon), who are on the hunt for the drugs and will go about any means necessary to get what they want. Even if that includes murder!
The 1967 film version of the Broadway play starred actress Audrey Hepburn in the role of Susy.
On Wednesday, January 30, “General Hospital‘s” Sean Kanan (AJ Quartermaine) will be putting his comedic chops on display for Mavrick Artists Agency’s Comedy Showcase being held in Los Angeles, CA. The event is being hosted by Lorenzo Lamas, who co-starred with Kanan back in the early 2000′s on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Lamas portrayed Hector Ramirez on the CBS daytime soap.

Comedians Ant, Luenell, Mike Ivy, Scout Durwood, Cody Kopp, Jeff Richards, Rebekah Kochran, and Wayne Federman will also be participating in the showcase.
The Pasadena Playhouse
“One Life to Live‘s” Matt Walton (ex-Elijah Clark/Elijah Kent) and “Passions” actress Erin Cardillo (ex-Esme Vanderheusen) have come together for a new comedy at the Pasadena Playhouse.
Beginning next month “Under My Skin,” a comedy that finds New York’s most eligible bachelor (Walton) and a single working mother (Cardillo) as they experience all the trials and tribulations of each others lives, hits the stage for a one month engagement (September 11 – October 7, 2012). The story tackles such hot topics as sex, love and healthcare.

As previously reported, “One Life to Live‘s” Kim Zimmer (Echo DiSavoy) is starring in the Off-Broadway play “Love, Loss and What I Wore” beginning tonight. Ticket prices for the play, which was written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron and is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman, currently goes for $79 but for fans of Zimmer you can receive a special discount.
