(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — …and baby makes three for “All My Children” actress Alicia Minshew.
“All My Children” superstar Alicia Minshew has given birth to her first born. Minshew and husband, Richie Herschenfeld, welcomed their 5 lb. 2 oz. bundle of joy, baby girl Willow Lenora, at 6:42 A.M. on Wednesday, November 4.
Minshew was actually due to give birth on Thanksgiving Day and her maternity leave was due to begin after the Friday, November 6 work day. At this time no official word has been given on whether or not the new mother, who has played Kendall Hart since January 2002, will return to the set of “AMC” to complete taping of the episodes she was scheduled to complete this week before production of the soap ceases in New York on December 11. Due to the impending move of production to Los Angeles in January 2010, “AMC” has agreed to give Minshew an extended maternity leave in return for her completing her contract with the soap. The length of that leave has not officially been announced but it will run longer than the typical three months allocated to maternity leaves. Minshew, along with departing co-star Thorsten Kaye (Zach) , should air on ”AMC” up through the end of the year.
2009 has produced several other sets of first time parents among the stars, past and present, of the popular ABC soap. Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Kendall Hart from 1993-1995, and husband Freddie Prinze Jr.’s baby daughter Charlotte Grace was born on September 19. Aiden Turner, who has played Aidan Devane since 2002, and wife Megan Marshall’s daughter Cellia Larryn was born on August 21. Ambyr Childers, who played Colby Chandler from 2007-2008, and husband Randall Emmett are due to have baby girl in January. The child has already been named (London).
Soap Opera Network wishes Alicia, Richie and baby Willow, as well as all of the aforementioned new parents and their children, much joy and happiness.
