(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — On Monday, September 26, “Days of our Lives” introduces a new era of drama when new co-head writers Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas take over. On that day, citizens of Salem gather together for the launch of the new Horton Town Square that will house restaurants, boutiques and an even a book store.

According to a “DAYS” representative, the Horton Town Square will include the following locations:

  • Sherman’s Sporting Goods
  • Hourglass Fine Hour Decor
  • Janet’s Boutique
  • Mandalay Cafe
  • The Mighty Pen Stationary, Gifts, & Crafts
  • Salem Books

For the novice in you, you’ll notice the series paying homage to the Hourglass that has helped define the soap for nearly 46-years. Meanwhile, Sherman’s Sporting Goods sounds like a take off from the popular Sherman Oaks section of Los Angeles, while the Mandalay Cafe sounds a little like the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. We’re also glad to know that our favorite Salemites do indeed still read books, despite the immediate availability through Amazon’s Kindle or Apple’s iPad/iPhone devices. We know some drama will have to be going down there at some point. No one just reads books as  it is still a soap after all.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — According to Gina Tognoni during Saturday’s “Girl’s Night Out” event during the “One Life to Live” Fan Club Weekend, her character Kelly Cramer will be departing Llanview on Wednesday, August 24, when Kelly decides to return to London to be closer to her son Zane. Meanwhile, Tom Degnan‘s Joey Buchanan may not be far behind.

In a soon to be published interview with Soap Opera Network, Degnan explains that Joey finally has the woman he loves in his life and he doesn’t plan on giving her up this time, which is why Joey leaves town to be with his lady.

Before Kelly leaves town, however, look for her, Joey, and the rest of the Buchanan clan pay tribute to Asa (played by the late Phil Carey) on the four year anniversary of his death. In addition, look for her to help her fellow Cramer girls give Dorian (Robin Strasser) a proper sendoff as she exits Llanview to launch her Senate campaign.

Tognoni was honored by “One Life to Live” Executive Producer Frank Valentini and show cast and crew as she taped her final scenes on the ABC soap back on June 24.

The Tuesday, February 22 episode of “One Life to Live” will not only give viewers their first glimpse of Andrew Trischitta as a recast Jack Manning, but it will also be the day that the ABC soap begins telling the story of bullying in America. The topic, of course, especially hits home with many children as they prepare to go to school each weekday not knowing if they will be thrown into their lockers with a wedgie or hanging upside down waiting for their lunch money to be stolen by someone bigger than them. Some of them even contemplate the prospect of suicide, which is rumored to be where the show may eventually take the storyline down the road. Wherever the show takes the story, Soap Opera Network of course will be following them every step of the way.
