Every year since 1949, The Writers Guild of America has awarded the best in scripted media. In 2010, writers will be rewarded for their work in movies (screenplays), television (primetime and daytime), radio, news, promotional writing, and graphic animation. For most of these categories, the WGA committee will just look at raw scripts in both choosing the nominees and picking the winners. Over the past several years, CBS's "As the World Turns" and "The Young and the Restless" have alternated WGA wins for Outstanding Achievement in a Daytime Serial  and are among the 2010 WGA nominees in the category. On Wednesday, January 20, ABC confirmed the news Soap Opera Network administrator Xavier Toups broke on Wednesday, January 13, David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski are "All My Children's" new Head Writing Team. This left a lot of fans a little bit concerned ... and wondering what the news meant for esteemed, long-time "AMC" writer and current interim Associate Head Writer Lorraine Broderick. Sources close to daytime serial website Daytime Confidential  have indicated that Broderick has indicated that her stay at "AMC" would not be a long-term situation. "AMC" star Susan Lucci, who has played Erica Kane since the show's debut in 1970, seems to be indicating that may not be the case. Photo: Aaron Montgomery/JPISaturday, January 23, 2010 1:15 AM ET | By Scotty Gore (SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- It now appears that Barbara Garrick is back as Llanview's favorite wackjob Allison Perkins. SON first told you last week that Garrick, who portrayed Perkins from from 1986-87 (and again from 2001-03, as well as in 2008), was photographed hanging around with the"One Life to Live" cast outside the soap's studios by shutterbug Steven Bergman. Now, The Suds Report confirms that the actress will first air sometime "at the end of February.... will continue to air long after Roscoe Born’s Mitch leaves the canvas."  Born is rumored to be departing from "OLTL" sometime after the upcoming February sweeps. When viewers last saw Allison, she lapsed into a coma following a serious fall from a high-rise balcony, all-the-while insisting she knew a shocking secret about Jessica Brennan.  SON will continue to follow this story. In other news... The Suds Report also states that, according to Robin Strasser's (Dorian Cramer Lord)...

Born's video is in response to 2009 Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi featuring the Black Eyed Pea's Will.i.am.  "I had already written this song about how there's nothing he won't steal, there's nothing he won't sell, because I knew he had done this Victoria's Secret a few years ago," the actor tells Soap Opera Digest.  After revising the song to make it apply more to Dylan himself, Born teamed up with friend and fellow New York City musician Hugh Pool to record the video.  The two men have been pals since Pool's days as a guitar player in Nick River's (a character Born portrayed on "The City") band back in the '90s.
