(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Miss New York Teen USA 2009 and former “All My Children” cast member Taylor Gildersleeve, joins the cast of “One Life to Live.”

The 18-year-old actress, who portrayed Sydney Harris on “AMC” in 2006, tweeted yesterday afternoon (January 19th) that she had just “just booked a role on ‘One Life to Live!!!’ :D

The exact role in which Gildersleeve was cast cannot be confirmed at this time, however, one possibility is “Hannah,” who is expected to interact with Starr and Cole.  A casting call for that role was issued back in mid-December.  Other possibilities could be “Leah,” a stripper friend of Stacy and Kim’s, or “Teen Jessica,” who will be appearing in flashback scenes.  Gildersleeve appears to have beaten out fellow actress Samii Ryan, who revealed earlier this month that she recently auditioned for an unidentified role on “One Life” as well, and was awaiting a callback from the soap.

In addition to winning the Miss New York Teen USA 2009 title, Gildersleeve competed in Miss Teen USA Pageant, but failed to make the finals.  A student at New York University, she has also appeared in an episode of “30 Rock.”

SON will continue to follow this story and bring you more details as they develop.

In other news…

Erin Cronican also tweeted yesterday that she had “Just booked another principal role on ‘One Life to Live’-this time as a social worker.” Cronican last appeared in Llanview on October 28th of last year as a stylist to then Mayoral candidate Dorian Cramer Lord.

Look for more dayplayer roles on February 12th, 17th, and 18th.

And the Hawaii’s Big Island Weekly reports that “It was a night of epic talent. Over 80 young people from West Hawai’i took to the Aloha Theater stage in Kainaliu on Saturday night to showoff their ability and flair for entertainment in the first Kona Youth Talent Show.

Sponsored by the West Hawai’i Community Health Center the performance was an effort to showcase the talent of Hawaii’s youth as well as act as an outreach event to raise awareness and education about the prevention of teen pregnancy….Following the intermission WHCHC showed a 10-minute film titled “Jessica’s Story,” from the soap opera series “‘One Life to Live.’ The movie depicted the cause and effect of unplanned teenage pregnancy.”  The event was held on January 17th.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Barbara Garrick spotted outside the “One Life” studios in New York.

Garrick, who is best known for her realistic portrayal of nutjob Allison Perkins, was photographed on Monday (January 18th) with co-star Melissa Archer (Natalie Banks) by Steven Bergman, who routinely snaps images of the “OLTL” cast and crew as they enter and exit the show’s studios.

Rumors have persisted in recent months that the actress was reprising her signature role, despite the fact that representatives for “One Life” have had no comment on the speculation.

When viewers last saw Allison, she had lapsed into a coma after suffering a fall, but not before teasing that she knew a huge secret involving Jessica Brennan (Bree Williamson).

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Natalie Banks once again has visions of the dead.

When John McBain is arrested by Police Commissioner Lowell’s inept men in blue for allowing Brody to flee the scene of the crime after attacking Mitch (so he could attempt to rescue his beloved Jessica from certain doom), Natalie is frantic as the former cult leader continues to terrorize her family and friends.

However, she refuses to simply set back and allow her former lover take the rap. Instead, she catches John off guard by driving the getaway car when Brody comes to bust the him out of jail. But their run of good luck comes to an abrupt end when their car is inadvertently forced off the road by two other vehicles, one of which is being driven by someone with murderous intentions.

With their car stuck in a ravine, Natalie finds herself in grave danger. Trapped in the driver’s seat, she soon begins to lose touch with reality, and envisions herself kissing her recently deceased husband Jared. Meanwhile, John works to free his old flame, while Brody takes off in search of Jessica and Mitch.

But will viewers really Jared’s spirit again, or will it all be nothing more than a figment of Natalie’s imagination as John pulls her from the car?  If so, it would be the latest in a serious of ghostly visits from John Brotherton, who was fired last fall by “One Life to Live” after just over two years with the soap. Either way, look for the scenes to air on Monday, February 8th.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “One Life to Live” releases a new audition script for teenage versions of two of the soap’s most popular characters, Jessica Buchanan and Cristian Vega.

In an update to a story we first brought you yesterday, SON can now give you more insight into the contents of the script, which was released last Friday.

The scene begins with teen Jessica telling teen Cristian that he doesn’t look or act like the group of jocks he has been hanging around with. Cris responds that the only thing that he really has in common with them is that he is good at soccer. Jessica tells him that she hasn’t seen much of him lately, and asks Cris if he has been avoiding her. He states that he has been dodging her, but it’s not because he doesn’t like her. Instead he tells her that he wants to see her more often, but thinks that they have about as much in common as he and his teammates do. Jessica asks Cristian if he thinks it’s because he’s from Angel Square, to which he responds yes, and because she lives in a house that has a name. He goes on to say that her mother is the richest woman in Llanview, while his mom is only a rich woman’s maid, not to mention the fact that his brother is currently in jail. Jessica fires back that, just because her family is wealthy, it does not mean that they do not have their share of problems. Being sarcastic, Cristian is like what, did the chauffeur took the day off? Jessica replies that her parents are divorced and that her mother is very ill. Cris apologizes and offers his condolences. As the scene ends, Jessica confesses that they have more in common than he wants to admit. Cris says he it’s time to go to work.

The scene appears to be in a flashback had by Jessica and/or Cristian, and should air sometime this spring. SON will keep you posted.
