Scott Reeves, who has portrayed Dr. Steven Lars Webber on “General Hospital” since 2009, has announced via his Twitter account that the ABC series has released him from his contract and that he will last air on the soap sometime in February.
“Hey guys, u know how much u mean 2 me and I wanted u 2 hear it from me. I was let go from GH today and my last day should b in Feb sometime,” said Reeves in a Twitter posting shortly after 9:00 PM PST on Wednesday, December 12.
As previously reported, Susan Flannery is leaving CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” after 25 years portraying the role of Stephanie Forrester on the world’s most watched daytime drama series. With today’s airing factored in, more than 6,450 episodes of the soap will have aired since she debuted on the series (she started airing on the show’s second episode on March 24, 1987).
In celebration of Flannery, Executive Producer and Head Writer, Bradley P. Bell will be tweeting live during today’s east coast broadcast (1:30 PM ET) via the show’s official twitter handle @BandB_CBS.
In addition, fans are being asked to tweet live with the hashtag #TeamStephanie as a way to support the character.
After more than 25 years and over 6,450 episodes, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” will say goodbye to one of its own as Susan Flannery says farewell to the drama series when her character, Stephanie Forrester, succumbs to lung cancer on the Monday, November 26 episode. In celebration of Flannery’s tremendous career at the soap, Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley P. Bell will Tweet live with fans via the soaps official Twitter handle @BandB_CBS.
With a lineup consisting of soaps “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” game shows “The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal,” and talk show “The Talk,” the home of daytime television’s most watched soap opera and broadcast game show, announced just before the Thanksgiving holiday that its daytime division is now available on Facebook.
The CBS Daytime Facebook page launches months after the network first brought the daypart into the social media age with its very active Twitter page, which now has over 7,000 followers. Both social media sites promise to bring fans of the lineup up close and personal with behind the scenes coverage of current events. Earlier today the Facebook page posted a picture of Lee Phillip Bell, co-creator of “Y&R” and “B&B,” playing the role of DJ last month as the younger soap celebrated Susan Flannery‘s final day taping at Stage 31 in the CBS Television City Studios in the role of Stephanie Forrester.
For those of you wondering or secretly hoping that Ronn Moss would be back on CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Ridge Forrester just before Susan Flannery airs for the final time on the Monday, November 26 episode as Stephanie Forrester, you’re going to have to settle with the fact that it’s not happening.
On Monday, November 19, the winner of “The Price is Right’s” first ever Male Model search, Rob Wilson, will be Live Tweeting during the east coast broadcast (11:00 AM ET/8:00 AM PT) of the venerable daytime game show.
Wilson won the nearly two month long contest which found hundreds of hopefuls seeking the coveted position. The contest began with a casting call in Los Angeles on August 30 and concluded on October 8, when Wilson defeated Clint Brink and Nick Denbeigh to be named “TPIR’s” first male model.
Although fans of ABC’s “General Hospital” got their first glimpse of Sean Kanan back on screen as AJ Quartermaine on the Friday, October 26 episode, they didn’t learn much about why the character had returned to Port Charles. Kanan himself may be able to shed some light when he joins fans for an upcoming live Twitter chat during the east coast broadcast of the daytime drama series.
With Monica (Leslie Charleson) appearing overjoyed after seeing at least one of her sons still alive (Jason “died” just last week), one has to wonder who else will be happy to see AJ back, if anyone, as the character (last portrayed by Billy Warlock) was killed off in a murder mystery storyline that resulted in everyone discovering it was Michael’s psychiatrist that murdered the alcoholism plagued Quartermaine back in 2005. It’s not likely Carly (Laura Wright) or Michael (Chad Duell) will be happy to see the man back in town, much less still alive, but his return will sure help drive some juicy storytelling for all of Port Charles.
As part of “ABC’s Trick or Tweet” week, which began on Wednesday, October 24, Kanan joins a number of ABC’s primetime and daytime stars as they tweet live during Halloween-inspired episodes of their shows. On Monday, October 29,From 2:00-3:00 PM ET/11:00 AM-Noon PT, Kanan will be answering questions submitted by fans who use the official #GH hashtag via his Twitter page (@SeanKanan).
Beginning Monday, September 10 ABC’s “General Hospital” moves to a new time period (2:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT/CT) and in celebration the network is hosting a weeklong twitter chat with cast members of the drama series.

Soap Opera Digest grants Daytime Confidential‘s Jamey Giddens his wish. On Wednesday, August 15, Giddens had posted a Wishful Casting report shortly after word broke that Kevin Schmidt was out as Noah Newman on CBS’” The Young and the Restless.” The writer figured that Nickelodeon’s “Hollywood Heights” actor Robert Adamson (Phil Sanders) would fit the role perfectly. Today the magazine reported on its Facebook page that Adamson is now heading to Genoa City!
According to Digest, Adamson begins taping at “Y&R” on Tuesday, September 4. His first airdate is scheduled for Monday, October 1.
Jill Farren Phelps and Josh Griffith, the newly installed executive producer and head writer, respectively, at “Y&R” also served in the same capacities at “Heights.”
No word on whether Adamson has been offered a contract. Schmidt had portrayed Noah while on recurring status.
Frank Valentini (Executive Producer, “General Hospital”) is promising that the Monday, August 27 episode of the drama series is “not to be missed” as the series has “been keeping a huge surprise under wraps.” The producer tweeted the message to his 12,000 followers earlier today.
From what we know about Monday’s episode Anna (Finola Hughes) learns the identify of a mystery patient, Jerry makes his demands clear to the people of Port Charles. Joe Jr. promises to protect Tracy and John questions Alexis about what she can remember about the night she was injected.
In possibly related news, Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett) just tweeted a picture to her followers that said “Got Brenda?” Also, “All My Children’s” Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee Smythe) was the first one to respond to Valentini’s above mentioned tweet. The actress said “I’ll be watching!”
The things that make you go hmmm…
“General Hospital” moves to a new time period beginning Monday, September 10 (2:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT/CT). The network promises to thrill audiences in the days leading up to the timeslot switch with lives hanging in the balance and shocking revelations hitting Port Charles. Who survives and who thrives? You’ll just have to tune in to find out!
