Earlier this week Parade Magazine announced a tournament to determine the greatest soap opera of all time. According to Parade, “We need your help to crown the greatest daytime drama ever with a four-round tournament.” In this “Soap Opera Showdown,” fans are able to vote for their favorite soap to advance to the next round.
The contest began on Sunday, which saw “General Hospital” advance over “The Doctors,” “All My Children” advance over “Passions,” “One Life to Live” advance over “Search for Tomorrow,” “As the World Turns” advance over “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” advance over “The Secret Storm,” “Days of Our Lives” advance over “Love of Life,” “Guiding Light” advance over “The Edge of Night,” and “Ryan’s Hope” advance over “Another World.”
Sometimes when one comments about a specific topic or thing on social media websites such as Facebook or Twitter, things they say can get misconstrued by others. This was the case last night when “General Hospital’s” Sean Kanan (AJ Quartermaine) tweeted, “Such an honor to be a part of this iconic piece of American television history. Thanks @valentinifrank for everything,” following yesterday’s 13,000th episode cake cutting party, which Kanan took part.
It may be super cold in the Northeast (and much of the country) right now, but come Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6, much of the cast of ABC’s “General Hospital” will be heating things up for those in and around Montclair, New Jersey and Boston, Massachusetts.
Produced by Coastal Entertainment Productions, “GH’s” Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) and Laura Wright (Carly) will host co-stars Kristen Alderson (Kiki), Chad Duell (Michael), Kelly Thiebaud (Britt), Bryan Craig (Morgan), Dominic Zamprogna (Dante), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), Maura West (Ava) and Michael Easton (Silas) for the ultimate “GH” Fantasy Weekend. The actors will all be on hand for a star studded afternoon in Montclair on Saturday, April 5 and in Boston on Sunday, April 6 for what is being dubbed the largest soap opera event in the Northeast.
ABC’s “General Hospital” will celebrate romance in style on Valentine’s Day as viewers will be treated to the reconciliation of Dante and Lulu Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna and Emme Rylan), the potential hookup of Felix and Lucas (Marc Anthony Samuel and Ryan Carnes), an adventure for Nikolas and Britt (Tyler Christopher and Kelly Thiebaud), a turning point in Molly’s relationship with TJ (Haley Pullos and Tequan Richmond) and Ava and Morgan (Maura West and Bryan Craig) spend a secret night of passion together. Of course, what would a night of romance be without the possibility of a paternity test reveal? Liz (Rebecca Herbst) is on a mission to take down Britt!
“General Hospital” fan favorites Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones), Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara), Bradford Anderson (ex-Damien Spinelli), Kathleen Gati (Liesl Obrecht), Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe) and Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin) are heading to Florida this fall as they get ready to party it up with fans in Orlando the weekend of Friday, November 7 through Sunday, November 9.
Hosted by Your #1 Fan, tickets will be on sale soon, so save the dates and stay tuned!
Despite her official Facebook page’s earlier denial that she was set to reprise her role of Taylor Forrester on CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” next month, a show spokesperson confirms that actress Hunter Tylo will in fact be returning to the world’s most watched daytime drama series beginning Friday, February 28.
It looks like former soap actor Jeff Branson (ex-Jonathan Lavery, “All My Children,” ex-Shayne Lewis, “Guiding Light,” ex-Ronan Malloy, “The Young and the Restless”) is the next on the list of stars celebrating baby news!
The Missouri native took to Twitter to announce the big news to fans. “Thank you all for the congrats and warm wishes!” he wrote. “My little mans due March 17, HAPPY ST. Pattys!”
Soap actress Eileen Davidson may have walked away from “Days of our Lives” for a short time, but the fan favorite is headed back to the Salem spotlight!
According to TV Guide, the actress (who also plays Ashley Abbott on “The Young and the Restless”) will begin filming at “DAYS” this March for “a powerful Kristen DiMera story arc” that will hit the air this summer!
There’s been some recent buzz that Hunter Tylo may soon be returning as “The Bold and the Beautiful’s” Dr. Taylor Hayes, but are the rumors true?
Unfortunately for fans of the actress (who’s played Taylor on again/off again since 1990) , her team took to Facebook to quiet the reprisal buzz once and for all: “Rumors are out there, that Hunter Tylo is in talks with ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ to reprise her role as Dr. Taylor Hayes, beginning next month,” the post says. “There is no truth to those rumors, no talks are in place between Hunter and ‘The Bold and the Beautiful.’ We thank you all for the love and support you are showing Hunter.”
For those of you missing the adventures of Taylor, you can check out the latest “B&B” e-book “Collision Course,” which officially went on sale today! The book details how Taylor gets to know the real Bill (Don Diamont) after she discovers he is trying unsuccessfully to cover up his severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, caused by a near-fatal plane crash.
