TheWrap Incorrectly Reports the News…Again!

Tuesday, May 24, 2011 9:03 AM EDT
(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- As we reported on Friday, May 20, fans of canceled "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" took the news of ABC's upcoming Affiliates Board meeting to heart and called in to their local ABC stations in droves in response to our story demanding that the network change course in its plans for a "Brand New Day" in daytime starting this fall with "The Chew" and "The Revolution." Organizers of the fan inspired campaign to save the two soaps issued a press release to ABC affiliates and news outlets with the prime target being board Chairman Bill Hoffman.Unfortunately TheWrap, as they did in April when NBC launched "The Voice" to stellar numbers last month only to rerun the shows debut episode the following night with much lower ratings to which the publication claimed brought the network its newest bomb, misconstrued Hoffman's comments in their article referencing...
(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — The recently cancelled ABC soap "One Life to Live" does what it does best again this week, by taking a tongue-in-check approach in addressing its own impending demise. Tuesday's (May 24) episode begins with Blair Cramer (Kassie DePaiva) reciting a few bars from the show's 1986-91 "Tour of Llanview" opening theme song, which has arguably become one of the show's most revered openings among fans, only to stop midway through the Paebo Bryson theme to remark that it was "too sad" to continue. This comes in light of last month's cancellation of the show by ABC. DePaiva last sung that particular theme during "One Life's" three-day "Starr X'd Lovers" musical event in 2010, when it served as a temporary opening for the show. Mark Lawson (Brody), Brittany Underwood (ex-Langston) and Jason Tam (ex-Markko) also recorded versions of the theme at that time, all of which are available for...

When asked if he was ready to say goodbye to his character Jake Martin, Goldin stated  "yeah, because I honestly feel right now that this is my farewell tour. I feel like the door for me is going to close now on this chapter of my life. Having had a great reign in daytime, and drifting across the three networks on three different soaps, and kind of doing it my way, I think I did everything I wanted to do. I have never said that." So what are some of the actors fondest memories? Goldin shared with Fairman that "I think when we talked at this time three and half years...
(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- It has been a little over a month since Disney's ABC Television Network canceled daytime soaps "All My Children" and "One Life to Live." As is the case with most primetime series upon their cancellation notices, there had been hope that another network would pick up one or both daytime programs. In fact there were rumors that NBC was interested in airing the programs with Sony Pictures Television producing. The rumor, which began shortly after Deadline.com reported that the producer of NBC's "Days of our Lives" and CBS' "The Young and the Restless" was interested in snapping up top talent from ABC shortly after the stars received their walking papers on Thursday, April 14, heated up as the weeks went on with no response from Sony Pictures Television. Soap Opera Network reached out to representatives from the production powerhouse and we're sorry to say soap fans, it...
(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- In the days following the news of "All My Children's" cancellation on April 14, a person claiming to be Trent Garrett went on Twitter to reveal that certain actors would be exiting early from the ABC soap, him included, to make way for returns. As the news went viral, including on Soap Opera Network, "All My Children's" official Fan Club President Debbie Morris was contacted by the actor who claimed he did not have a Twitter account and did not tweet those messages. Whatever the case, the Twitter birdie was on to something that many fans predicted as a strong possibility once news of the cancellation broke. In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest covering Summer Previews, several sources have confirmed that fans should "expect multiple cast members to exit before September finale to make way for returnees and a focus on long-term characters."On Thursday,...
(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- "All My Children" fans know that "Transformers" hero Josh Duhamel started his acting career playing Leo du Pres on their favorite ABC soap in November 1999. In that time the talented 38-year old actor earned three Daytime Emmy nominations in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor and took the coveted Emmy home in 2002. Duhamel broke the hearts of many "All My Children" fans when he chose to depart the show and Leo vanished into Miller Falls in October of that year. But with Pine Valley set to close up shop for good on Friday, September 23 is there a chance for Mr. du Pres to rise from his watery grave? On Thursday, May 19, a cryptic Duhamel went on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to discuss that very matter (see video below). Two days prior, on Tuesday, May 17, Duhamel also took to his official Twitter feed to...
(SoapOperaNetwork.com) -- Vincent Irizarry, who plays David Hayward on "All My Children," reportedly told fans during a fan event the weekend after news broke that the ABC soap was canceled that production on the drama series would go dark for three weeks in July, as per usual. This despite the soap opera being scheduled to cease production for good come August. Since then fans have been speculating if Irizarry's comment was misconstrued due to the fact that as a New York based production "All My Children" did not have a three week hiatus in July. Did the back-burned actor mean he would be going on a normally scheduled annual vacation - or would the ABC soap indeed schedule a hiatus for three weeks in July? Soap Opera Network did some digging and has the answer. According to sources, "All My Children" is indeed halting production for three weeks this summer...
