(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Two of Llanview’s newest and most popular recurring characters reveal that their “One Life to Live” isn’t over yet.

Fans can expect Max Tapper, who first aired as John McBain’s sidekick Detective Price on May 27th, to get a lot more screen time in the coming weeks. On July 19th, Tapper mentioned on his Facebook page that he was taping a steam room scene. And on Friday (August 13th) he commented that he was “up early shooting on location for ‘OLTL.’ IT’S a GOOD MORNING.”

It is speculated that this location shoot also involves Eli and Blair, and is separate from the one last week that involved Kristen Alderson (Starr), Brittany Underwood (Langston), and Nic Robuck (James).  On a related note Melissa Archer (Natalie) tweeted Friday that “I had the best time on the remote today!! Can’t wait till they air!!!!!”

Tapper went on to say that “to all my Det. Price fans out there! I have no control over when Price shows his face. But rest assured Ill be back soon. It should be this week or next since I already shot a bunch of new stuff that hasn’t aired yet, plus Ill be back at the studio this Friday.” The character has developed a large fan following, despite the fact that he has only appeared in four episodes thus far.

And, despite rumors that Meghann Fahy (Hannah) has wrapped up taping with “OLTL” in order to focus solely on her role as Natalie in the play “Next to Normal” (she was previously the understudy), Fahy rebuffs the claims in a new interview with Broadway.com. In fact the 20-year-old starlett, who made her Llanview debut in February, states that she is often taping at “One Life” two or three days a week.

It’s not easy because sometimes I have to get up at 6 to go to the studio, film all day and then do the show, but both jobs are rewarding in different ways. I just try to get as much sleep as I can when I’m not working,” the actress comments. She always says that her parents “love watching me on TV. I find it hilarious.” Fahy was originally only slated to appear in three episodes of “One Life to Live,” but the show decided to expand the role partly based upon fan response to character of Hannah.

Lastly, Kathy Brier tweeted Friday “I can’t come back to ‘OLTL’ unless they ask me back. They fired me.”  This was in response to a fan asking her if she was coming back to the soap anytime soon.

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Anytime on ABC.com and SOAPnet.com. Check local listings.

Llanview Casting Gossip: August 13 Edition

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — The latest comings and goings for “One Life to Live.”

Michael J. Burg plays the dayplayer role of a Conseiller Municipal beginning Friday, August 27th, when David Vickers (Tuc Watkins) finds himself in a familiar situation thanks to a certain Llanview resident.  The plot twist will help usher the character off the canvas while Watkins resumes taping on “Desperate Housewives.”  On a related note, Erika Slezak (Viki) hinted in her newsletter earlier this month that Watkins may possbily pop up in Llanview once again next spring.

Sean Ringgold is back as the other Evans brother Shaun beginning Tuesday, August 17th, when Todd approaches him about aiding him in his search for Téa.  Expect a few more twists and turns in the storylines as it plays out on screen in the coming weeks.

Susan Haskell (Marty) returns on Thursday, August 28th, when she learns about Natalie’s pregnancy from John after the two women share an awkward encounter.

Tika Sumpter (Layla) has packed her bags and relocated from New York City to Los Angeles since dropping to recurring status with “OLTL” at the end of last month.  On Monday, August 30th, an interesting proposition could usher Layla out of Llanview.

Lailee Clemons plays a Flight Attendant on August 27th.  Also on that date, Billy Warlock first airs as Ross Rayburn, who becomes distraught after learning of Téa’s impending death.

For those missing certain members of the Llanview teen scene, you are in luck. Look for Destiny (Shenell Edmonds) and Darren (J. J. Singleton) to turn up together again on Friday, August 27th when the youngest Evans sibling makes amends with Nate (Lenny Platt) for stealing her best friend’s girl.

“OLTL” recently released three new audition scripts.  The first is for the role of “Nurse Cogswell.”  The scene opens with the nurse telling “Robin” that she doesn’t know where her husband went.  When Robin asks about her daughter, she responds that she didn’t see her.  Worried, Robin comments that they both said that they would be there when she woke up.  Nurse Cogswell tells her not to worry, and that she is certain they’ll be right back since they know she is waiting on them.  Getting hostile, Robin tells her that she wants to call her husband.  The scene ends with Robin ordering the nurse to bring her a pone when she learns there is not already one in the room.

The second script is for a “Hopsice Doctor.” In the scene, the doctor is asking “Craig” if he has any idea how long the drugs have been in “Chris’” system, before finding a heartbeat and preparing to rush him off for ICU.  Craig asks if he is going to make it.  The doctor responds that isn’t sure, since Chirs was given a lethal dose of morphine, but that he would already be dead if Craig hadn’t found him.  Frantic, Craig asks if Chris will be okay.  The doctor repsonds that, while his heart is still beating, he remains unable to breathe on his own, and that the Detective (Craig) could possibly have a murder on his hands here.

And the third script is for the role of “Nurse #1.”  Remember that, as a general rule with these audition scripts, “OLTL” often changes character names in an attempt to throw off viewers.  However, it appears that they each involve Téa and, in the case of the second script, John and perhaps Eli as well.

Rumors continue to swirl that Roger Howarth will be returning to “OLTL” with his “As the World Turns” stint comes to an end this fall, either reprising his signature role of Todd Manning (currently played by Trevor St. John) or as a new/different character, however, that remains only speculation at this time.

Expect several dayplayer roles coming up in the coming weeks and months.

Sabine Singh was supposed to have aired again as “Wendy the hooker” on August 6th episdoe recap from ABC.  However, the change was likely to a scheduling conflict.

In other news…

“General Hosptial’s” Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) tweeted on yesterday (August 12th) that “I’ve been relegated to the back of the opening credits [on "GH"]. Any further back and I’ll be on ‘One Life to Live.’”

Camila Banus (ex-Lola Montez) is taking over the role of Gabriella Hernandez from Gabriella Rodriguez on “Days of Our Lives.”

Ty Treadway (ex-Collin/Troy MacIver) has been cast in the role of Dr. Jason Waters on “DAYS.”

Kassie DePaiva (Blair) will be the Emcee at the Lexington Hearing & Speech Center’s 50th Anniversary Bash, and will introduce Former President Bill Clinton at the event on August 13th.  Click here for more information.  DePaiva, Hillary B. Smith (Nora), and David A. Gregory (Ford) recently represented “OLTL” at the Soap Nation fan event in Three Rivers, Wisconsin.

Kathy Brier (ex-Marcie) recently got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Jason Munt, and are planning to get married next month.

Trevor St. John (Todd) has landed a role in an upcoming independent movie to be shot in New York City in October.  The name of the film has not yet been released.  St. John also is hosting a fan event in Newark, New Jersey on October 8th.   You can find more information here.

Ilene Kristen (Roxy) told Daytime Confidential earlier this month that she hasn’t worked a single day on “OLTL” in over three months, and that she “is hurt and considers herself out of a job.”

David A. Gregory (Ford) lists his upcoming airdates as August 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 25th, nad 30th.  He also states that he had a photo shoot with his onscreen brothers Nic Robuck (James) and Lenny Platt (Nate) on August 11th.

Terrell Tilford (Greg) tweeted yesterday (August 12th) that he had a “Big day of shooting tomorrow. On my grind and in my bed. I’m tweepy. Good nite good tweoples!” Today he writes that “Going in… 12 scenes… Let’s do this!”  Tilford also lists his upcoming airdates as August 15th, 16th, 25th, 27th, 30th, and 31st, as well September 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th, 27th, and 28th.

Kristen Alderson (Starr) tweeted that she worked one day during the first week of August, but that she had 40 items items (scenes) to tape on that one day.  On August 4th she commented that “I nvr go to bed this early, but I woke up at 5:15am had a location shoot, 40 scenes in a row in the 95+degree weather.SO TIRED<3night.” You can see a picture of Alderson, Brittany Underwood (Langston), and Nic Robuck (James) here.  Alderson and Underwood are currently on vacation together: “Florida for a week, Shore for a week, NY for a week, back to Florida for a week….Starting….7am. ; )

Speaking of the location shoot, Underwood gave the following response to a fan who asked her about it:   “I’ve been on the show for 4 yrs and this was my 1st on location shoot, and I don’t think it’s cause I ‘pissed anyone off’ lol”  When asked if the reason why Brandon Buddy (Cole) hasn’t been part of a location shoot in a few years was because he made someone mad, Underwood commented that “at least I hope not haha.”  She went on to say that the next days she is scheduled to tape are August 16th and 17th, and that  “BB [Buddy] vand JT [Jason Tam, 'Markko] are def still in the picture, the shoot today was only the three of us so don’t worry it was nothing against them lol.”

“OLTL” Music Producer David Glass says that the song during the Todd/Téa montage on July 22nd is now for sale on iTunes.  You can purchase it by clicking here.  Also, the Matt Morris song “Someone to Love You” was featured in the August 4th episode.  John Auer’s “Moments,” was the song that was heard during the Blair/Téa montage on August 9th.  The song for the Todd/Téa/Danielle scenes on August 11th was Shawn Hlookoff’s “Wonderful Surprise,” and is available on iTunes.  And the song played during the Starr/Cole/Markko/Langston farewell scenes back on July 19th was the ABC original song “Because I Have You” by Robert Harty and Jason Belt, however it is currently not available for purchase.

And in belated baby news, congratulations to Erin Torpey (ex-Jessica) and her husband Hamilton von Watts on the birth of their first child, a son named Izaiah Torpey von Watts, on June 16th.

In or Out? Billy Warlock at ‘One Life’

Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 10:45 PM ET by Scotty Gore

Photo: NBC

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Contradicting reports have surfaced regarding Billy Warlock’s status with “One Life to Live.”

Earlier this afternoon, SON told you that ABC Soaps in Depth was reporting that Warlock, who began taping his “OLTL” scenes as Ross Rayburn back on July 19th, has left the soap in order to reprise the role of Frankie Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” a role he has played off and on since 1986. His first airdate on “One Life” as Ross is scheduled for August 27th.  Last month he was tapped as an emergency recast for short-term role.

However, Soap Opera Digest has since weighed in on the story, claiming their competition didn’t get their facts straight.  According to SOD, they were told by “DAYS” Co-Executive Producer Gary Tomlin that “We have no plan. I like Billy, but there’s nothing in the works on that front for now.”

ABC Soaps in Depth has since retracted their original report, as well as rumors that Warlock was headed back to “General Hospital” to reprise the role of A.J. Quartermaine, by stating that “a spokesperson for ‘OLTL’ says that Warlock is still taping as Ross.”

SON will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as it develops.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — The 2007 coming-of-age romantic film, co-starring “One Life to Live’s” David Fumero (Cristian Vega), finds its way to DVD.

Following showing of the movie at various film festivals, along with a limited theatrical release in the United States, “Greetings from the Shore” was then successfully released in more than seventy different countries. Now it is available for purchase in the U.S. through the film’s official website.

To celebrate the release, several free outdoor screenings of the movie are scheduled, with the next being Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey on Thursday, August 12th. A complete schedule is available on the website. The film’s director, along with members of the cast, will be in attendance at each of the screenings to sign autographs and chat with fans.

“Greetings from the Shore” is the tale of a young woman who decides to spend one last summer at the New Jersey shore before heading off to college, all the while still mourning the recent death of her father. However, her plans quickly fall apart when she unwittingly becomes involved with Russian sailors and high-stakes gambling, while managing to find love along the way.

In addition to Fumero (who plays Benicio Aceveda), the film also stars Kim Shaw, Paul Sorvino, Jay O. Sanders, Andrew Shaifer, Lars Arentz-Hansen, Gideon Emery, Ron Geren, and Cristin Milioti. It was directed by Greg Chwerchak.

Warlock’s ‘Life’ Over Before It Started

Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 2:17 PM ET by Scotty Gore

Photo: NBC

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — The veteran soap star leaves “One Life to Live” before his first scenes even air.

ABC Soaps in Depth is reporting that Warlock, who began taping his “OLTL” scenes as Ross Rayburn back on July 19th, has left the soap in order to reprise the role of Frankie Brady on “Days of Our Lives.” Warlock has played the character on and off since originating the role in 1986.

The news comes less than a month after “One Life” tapped Warlock as an emergency recast after learning that the previous actor in the role (Michael Lowry) was unavailable to return due to scheduling conflicts.

However, it remains to be seen if Warlock’s exit from “One Life” will affect the show’s plans for the character, especially since he was only hired for a short-term stint. Nevertheless, expect him to first air as Ross Rayburn on Friday, August 27th, when he is becomes distraught after learning of Téa’s condition.

Warlock is no stranger to soaps, having also appeared on “General Hospital”  and “The Young & the Restless.” In addition, he has also been a regular on shows such as “Happy Days” and “Baywatch.”

Susan Lucci Lands Book Deal

Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 12:00 PM ET by Angela Rosa

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Life imitates art as the actress who plays author Erica Kane on “All My Children” goes to publication.

It Books, an imprint of the prestigious publisher HarperCollins, reported yesterday that daytime’s biggest star Susan Lucci (Erica Kane, “All My Children”) will be penning a memoir to be released in 2011.

The currently untitled book will cover the Emmy-winners career including her 40 years as the star of “AMC,” her other numerous television and stage projects and of course her harrowing, much-publicized journey for her first (and to-this-point only) Lead Actress win at the Daytime Emmy’s.

Lucci is currently in the middle of a long summer vacation and is expected to return to the Los Angeles set of “AMC” to begin taping again in September.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. “AMC” also airs 24/7 online at ABC.com.

‘OLTL’ Gives Bumpers New ‘Life’

Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 4:00 PM ET by Scotty Gore

Photo: ABC

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — If you have noticed some new, character-driven bumpers at the mid-point of each “One Life to Live” episode recently, you’re not alone.  And, although only a handful of the show’s contract cast members have been featured in them thus far, Executive Producer Frank Valentini promises that “We’re going to do one for everybody.  We just have to fit making them within the schedule.  We have a couple of other bumpers that are coming up.”

The EP tells Soap Opera Digest that “Doing the bumpers — not all of them, but most often — is extremely iconic, like Natalie and the pool table, because that represents where she met John. It represents the kind of girl she is.  In another bumper, Cristian is seen painting. “Sort of the abstract way that he does it.”

The new bumpers, which “have to be done rather quickly and as inexpensively as possible” given the ever increasing ABC Daytime budget crunch, began airing in early May, and have so far included nearly a dozen characters, including Starr, Ford, James, Markko, Layla, Cristian, Bo, Nora, John, and Natalie (both John and Starr have two separate new bumpers).  More are expected to debut in the coming weeks and months.

According to Valentini, “We actually had a movie camera for something else that we were trying to do, so it worked out. It’s just about being resourceful. The one with Melissa Archer (Natalie) took a long time, because it was the first time we were doing it. We were trying out a lot of different stuff, but once we got into the groove, we knocked them off pretty fast.”  One of the more recent ones filmed featured Markko (Jason Tam) eating popcorn while while setting beside an old movie projector.  “Jason happened to be late that day, and we had a little extra time, so we just knocked it out.”

One of the more animated bumpers, featuring Llanview’s super cop John McBain (Michael Easton), has been extended into several promos of various lengths (up to thirty seconds) for both the character and the show, and was the brainchild of ABC Daytime and SOAPnet Senior Vice President of Marketing Adam J. Rockmore, and animator Michael Roberts (husband of “OLTL” star Bree Williamson [Jessica]).

In case you may have missed any of the new bumpers that have aired so far, you can watch them here.

In other news…

Terrell Tilford’s (Greg) announcement, which he said he would be making this week (leading some to speculate that he was leaving the soap), turned out to be about the launch of his new website.  On a related note, Tilford tweeted today (July 27th) that he was “Filming today, with Everyone! Ok, 8 scenes to go! Just ran into Snoop (Dogg) in the bldg… Heading to ‘The View’…”

ABC Soaps in Depth reported earlier this month that a spokesperson for “One Life to Live” has told them that there are no plans to cast the James and Robert Ford’s oft-mentioned father “at this time.”

Hillary B. Smith (Nora) states that she got to tape scenes with Jessica Leccia (Inez) last Friday (July 23rd).  On July 9th she tweeted that “Jessica (Leccia) and I will definitely be crossing paths…right, Ron?”

And Kassie DePaiva (Blair) has tweeted that she is currently on vacation.  Brittany Underwood (Langston) was off last week.  And Brandon Buddy (Cole) was recently on vacation as well.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Popular duo returns to Pine Valley this August.

Kendall Hart returns to “All My Children” full-time beginning on Monday, August 9. Alicia Minshew, who debuted in the role of Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) first born on January 2002, has been on maternity leave since last November after giving birth to daughter, Willow Lenora. The popular actress has relocated with her family, including Manhattan based restaurateur and husband Richie Herschenfeld, to Los Angeles. Look for Minshew to remain with the ABC daytime drama well into 2011.

Exactly one week later, on August 16, Minshew’s co-star Thorsten Kaye returns for a limited run as Kendall’s husband, Zach Slater. Kaye, who joined the soap in 2004, and “AMC” parted ways late last year correlating with the soaps production move west. Kaye’s partner Susan Haskell currently plays Marty Saybrooke on “One Life to Live.” Although the Emmy-winner is enjoying some serious time on Llanview’s back-burner, Haskell recently re-signed with the New York based soap. Despite that fact and the tag “limited run,” Kaye’s status with “AMC” appears to be up in the air. Soap Opera Digest recently reported that ABC has reached out to the actor concerning a deal to keep him in Pine Valley.

Following the Slater’s December 2009 exit, Kaye and Minshew brought the bruised and battered couple back to “AMC” briefly last April.

While there aren’t many story specifics out at the moment, we can tell you that upon her return Kendall will immediately find herself in the middle of some Ryan, Greenlee, and David (Cameron Mathison, Rebecca Budig, and Vincent Irizarry) drama, as usual (at least the Ryan and Greenlee part). Also look for some enlightening personal details to come out when sister’s Kendall and Bianca (Christina Bennett Lind) come face to face in Pine Valley.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. “AMC” also airs 24/7 online at ABC.com.

Llanview Casting Gossip: July 27 Edition

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — The latest comings and goings for “One Life to Live.”

Sabine Singh fans will be happy to learn that she will be making another appearance on “OLTL” as Wendy the Happy Hooker on Wednesday, August 6th, when she is called upon by David. Look for the two “friends with benefits” to go out on a double-date with Dorian and her faux beau Clint.

It appears that Janet Hubert‘s latest stint as Lisa Williamson will come to an end the week of July 26th, when she agrees with Layla to take Evangeline off of life support.

Erika Slezak and Brian Kerwin bring Viki and Charlie back to Llanview on Wednesday, August 11th.

Llanview newcomer Max Tapper commented on his Facebook page on July 15th that “For all my ‘One Life to Live’ fans, Det Price has more in store. it’s gonna get fun!” He has also posted a pic. of himself in his dressing room at “One Life” getting ready to tape a steam room scene on July 19th. You can see the picture here.

Terrell Tilford announced Monday on his Twitter page Monday (July 26th) that he would have an “Announcement: a few days away…” Could he be on his way out of Llanview soon? In the meantime, get ready for more Greg Evans. Tilford tweeted Thursday (July 22nd) that “4 scenes down…11 scenes to go… Whew! Just got in, exhausted, but rejuvenated! 21 scenes tomorrow…I’ve got to study my lines, omg! We shall do this!” Then on Friday he commented that “One hour from now, scene 1 of, well! 21… This is gonna be fun! just got home… today was a terrible day of shooting for me.. simply exhausted. but i give myself an hour to beat myself up, then i’m done.” Tilford also taped scenes on July 19th; his next airdate is August 5th. Hmmm…could these scenes possibly involve Téa’s condition taking a turn for the worse? Only time will tell.

David A. Gregory (Ford) commented on his Facebook page that he is “working every day this week!” on “One Life to Live.”

ABC Soaps in Depth states that a setside source tells them that viewers may not have seen the last of Kelly Cramer’s former London beau Reed Wagner (Gavin Alexander Hammon).

Michael J. Burg has been cast as the “Conseiller Municipal,” who is rumored to be performing a marriage ceremony for someone. Burg’s airdates include August 27th and 30th. Burg appeared in a handful of episodes on “OLTL” in 2005, as a “Mystery Person/Killing Club Killer.”

According to listings at IMDb.com, upcoming airdates for Billy Warlock (as a recast Ross Rayburn) include Friday and Monday, August 27th and 30th. It is speculated that Ross’ return to the canvas and the “Conseiller Municipal” character, who is rumored to marry Blair and Eli, are connected.

The site also lists Nic Robuck (James) as appearing in the August 23rd episode, as well as Mary Ryan as the Director of the August 27th episode.

Look for more dayplayer roles in the following episodes in August: 4th, 5th, 17th, 18th, 20th, and 24th.

“One Life to Live” Music Director Paul S. Glass tweets that the song during the Todd/Téa montage in the July 22nd episode was an ABC original number entitled “Talks Like the Streets,” and that it’s “not available but should be on itunes in a couple of weeks.”

“OLTL” recently released a new audition script for the role of a “Tahiti Cop,” which will coincide with the upcoming return of Ross Rayburn. The scene begins with “Brad” introducing himself to the cop as “Lt. Brad Daley, Llanview P.D.” The cop replies yeah, from Pennsylvania, and that he spoke to the police commissioner from there earlier on the phone. Brad states that he coming to arrest a fugitive by the name of “Clark Brown.” The cop points to a nearby man, claiming he’s Mr. Brown. However, Brad replies that that is not the person he is looking for. The cop asks who is he then, to which Brad quips that the man is actually “Ray Patterson.” The cop admits that he only did what he was told. He was informed that he could find Clark Brown at this address, and that the man identified himself as such. Annoyed, Brad asks the cop if he or his fellow officers encounted anyone else at the scene, like maybe a skinny blonde woman. The Tahiti Cop replies that they did a search of the area, but it turned up empty. Interested, Brad asks where the search area is, to which the cop replies that it is nearby. Brad says that he must get there right away. Ray, meanwhile, inquires as to if he is a free man now. The cop says, no, because he is wanted by in the U.S. Ray is adamant and replies that it’s Clark, and not him, that they want, and that they have the wrong guy in custody. The cop replies “now you tell us” as the scene ends.

Another new audition script is for the role of Judge Burdett. In this script, the Judge asks “Tim Bright” if his attorney will be joining them in the courtroom today, leading him to admit that he couldn’t afford to hire one. The Judge replies that it shouldn’t be a problem, since the case appears fairly simple and straightforward. He/She goes on to say that the will appears to be in order, since it has been signed and notarized, and rules that Tim is should be granted custody of “Suzy Marsh.” “Patrick” jumps up and states that “Sam Major” is Suzy’s biological father, and not Mr. Bright, giving him the advantage according to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Judge agrees that there is precedent, and that he/she will hear arguments to that effect. The Judge then asks Tim to proceed, at which point he admits that he has something that should settle the matter….Suzy’s birth certificate naming him as the girl’s father. (The Judge’s last name in this script is the same as that of a woman Executive Producer Frank Valentini encountered while on a recent trip to Costa Rica, in which he promised to name an upcoming minor character after her).

There was also two other scripts released recently for the minor roles of “Mr. Stein” and a “Coach,” however, details on them remain sketchy at this time.

    In other news…

Kassie DePaiva tweets that “For those of you looking for photos of my new hair…Buy the June 22 issue date of Soap Opera Weekly for photos. Should be on sale now.”

And Lenny Platt (Nate) tweeted earlier this month that “For reals. Over in a flash. Too bad they didn’t keep the scene of Starr changing shoes mid-shootout.” The scene he is referring to was the shoot-out in the barn with Todd, Bull, Nate, Starr, James, and Dani.
