    In Soap Opera Digest's reporting on the firing of Michael Muhney as Adam Newman on "The Young and the Restless," in its January 13, 2014 issue, the magazine included a quote from former executive producer and head writer, Maria Arena Bell.     On today's episode of NBC's "Days of our Lives," Chandler Massey says goodbye to his multi-Daytime Emmy Award winning role of Will Horton. As previously reported, Massey planned to depart the daytime drama series when his contract was set to expire in December 2013, but show producers opted instead to replace the actor upon his completion of his filming of scenes in August of last year, citing the exit as being storyline dictated. Daytime newcomer Guy Wilson took over the role when he began filming scenes in September. He begins airing on Wednesday, January 8. READ MORE

    According to Soap Opera Digest, Daniel Cosgrove has joined the cast of NBC's "Days of our Lives" in the newly created role of Aiden. "This is the first time that I’ve ever played a daytime character that wasn’t played by someone else," said the actor to the magazine of his previous roles as Scott Chandler ("All My Children"), Chris Hughes ("As The World Turns") and Bill Lewis ("Guiding Light"), all played by several actors prior to his portrayal.
