(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “One Life to Live” may be only weeks away from ending production on its ABC Daytime run, but that isn’t stopping the show from introducing a new character. Beginning early next month, Teresa Patel joins the cast in the recurring role of Vimal’s (Nick Choksi) younger sister Neela.

On Thursday, November 3, the model and former beauty pageant contestant will debut as the younger Patel sibling, who has ran away to the U.S. from her native India in order to escape an arranged marriage, hoping to seek refuge with her brother Vimal and sister-in-law Rama (Shenaz Treasury).

However, her time with her family is cut short when she goes missing, thanks to a certain troubled Llanview teen. While Neela becomes smitten with her new friend, who tells her about his personal vendetta against another Llanview resident, Rama and Vimal frantically search for the missing girl.

But will Neela’s new crush result in Rama and Vimal being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Tune in to find out!

Facebook

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Sources have confirmed to Soap Opera Network that actress Erin Chambers is returning to ABC’s “General Hospital” in the near future. However, word has it that she might not be playing Siobhan McKenna, the role in which she originated back in September 2010.

Interestingly enough, on Thursday, October 20, Chambers wrote the following on both her Facebook page and on Twitter: “Hey people! I am filming “something” right now. Worked on it last week & this week. Can’t tell you just yet what it is…but stay tuned! :)”

While there is no certainty that the two occurrences are related, Soap Opera Network will continue following this developing story as details become available.

Hutchison Brings Gabrielle Back to Llanview

ABC

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Add another name to the list of the caravan of returning stars to “One Life to Live.” Fiona Hutchison shocked fans this week by announcing the soap has asked her to reprise her signature role of Gabrielle Medina.

In a lengthy statement on her official Facebook page, Hutchison details her upcoming return to Llanview, stating:

Brace yourselves, I have some wonderful news to share with all of you. I am returning to ‘One Life to Live’ as Gabrielle. I have two shooting dates. Keep in mind, these are not air dates, but shooting dates. The first shoot date is Tuesday, October 25th; the second shoot date is Tuesday November 15th. If you happen to be in New York City {DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT PUT YOURSELF OUT AND FLY IN, I’M SERIOUS!} please, by all means, feel free to stop by the ABC Studios and chat. Obviously, for fire safety reasons as well as security reasons, I cannot bring any of you into the studio. But I do take breaks and I will be sure to slip away as much as I can to come out and ‘hang’ with my ‘posse.’ I Have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what they have in store for Gabrielle. She is dead but with daytime, who knows? I swear I would tell ALL of you if I knew what was going to happen. I have no script as of yet.

She goes on to add “Also, feel free to contact the people at Prospect Park as well as my dear friend Executive Producer Frank Valenti(ni) if you’d like to see me on the web version of ‘OLTL.’ I’m not certain what the plans are or if the final deal has been sealed… but I WILL BE heading to Los Angeles to shoot a role on the web series, ‘The BAY!’ Gregori Martin is ‘visionary’ and I could not be surrounded by a more down to earth, brilliantly talented cast! I cannot wait to start!!!!!!”

Hutchison played Gabrielle from 1987-91 and again from 2001-2004 when the character was killed off in a bathroom by Music Box Killer Dr. Stephen Haver (Matthew Ashford). A first airdate has not been announced.

Hickland Comes Back to ‘Life’

Yolanda Perez/ABC

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Catherine Hickland becomes the latest in a series of former cast members returning to “One Life to Live” before the show wraps up its run on ABC Daytime.

Hickland, who portrayed Lindsay Rappaport from from 1998-2008 (and again briefly in 2009), tweeted on Monday that “Ok, are you sitting down? ‘OLTL’ has asked me to bring Miss Lindsay Rappaport to the dance B4 the end. I said YES.” Two days later she posted a follow-up tweet thanking her many “One Life” fans for supporting saying, “I have received over 700 tweets in 2 days about going back to ‘OLTL.’ Thank you all 4 the love!”

When viewers last saw Lindsay in 2008 and 2009, she was serving out her prison sentence in Statesville for murdering Spencer Truman (Paul Satterfield). A first airdate has not been announced, nor is it clear how many episodes Hickland is returning for.

IMDb

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “One Life to Live” casting odds and ends for the month of October and beyond.

Tonja Walker shares more details into her upcoming return to “One Life” as Alex Olanov, tweeting “so far I’m told I have a story, but I’ve only shot four episodes. Hope its only the beginning!” She also says that she “was happy with the way they [the writers] wrote Alex this time,” but that she can’t discuss her scenes with Farah Fath (Gigi/Stacy) and Josh Kelly (Cutter). Walker also tweets that her scenes will air in November and promises to post her airdates soon.

As we previously reported, Paul Hickert will appear on “OLTL” on Monday, October 17 as “Kentucky Cop #2.” Yesterday, the Murray (KY) Ledger & Times posted an interview with Hickert, who played football for Murray State University from 1984-87 on their website. The Clearwater, Florida native, who now calls New York City home, spoke about his upcoming guest spot on the soap, notes that he will have several lines on “OLTL” as a cop, although he couldn’t say much about why his scene takes place in Kentucky, only that one of the show’s major characters finds their way there. Hickert also has a small role as an FBI agent the movie “Tower Heist,” debuting in theaters on November 4th. The film, directed by Brett Ratner, stars Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, and Matthew Broderick. Click here to read a related interview with Hickert from the Murray State Athletics Official website.

According to various sources, including the actress’ Facebook page, Teresa Patel will be joining the cast of “OLTL” in mid-October in an unnamed role. At this time it appears to be a minor role, however, that has yet to be confirmed.

Miss hearing Trevor St. John‘s (ex-Victor, Jr.) voice? If so, then you may be in luck. On Monday, October 17, John asks Téa (Florencia Lozano) if she wants to hear the voicemail Victor left Shaun just before he was shot. Also, in the same episode, Todd (Roger Howarth) has another vision of his late mother Irene (Barbara Rhoades).

Sara Oliver booked an Under 5 role on “OLTL” earlier this month.

“One Life to Live” recently released a new casting call, this time for the role of “Jill.”

Farah Fath (Gigi/Stacy) tweets that she will be taping scenes every day this week on “OLTL.”

Here comes the judge. Look for the dayplayer roles of a judge and assistant district attorney to appear in scenes in late October.

ABC Soaps in Depth clears up a little confusion among “One Life” fans, tweeting that “For those asking, although it didn’t sound like him, that WAS Michael Easton doing the voice of baby Liam last week!”

Looks like there is about to be another catfight on the show. Last Thursday on her Facebook page, Shenaz Treasury (Rama) posted this picture of herself in make-up while on set with a scar on her cheek.

Sean Ringgold (Shaun) posted this picture of himself on September 30 with his onscreen girlfriend Kearran Giovanni (Vivian), showing their characters all dressed up while taping scenes for “OLTL.”

Get ready for some big Starr and Todd scenes soon.  Kristen Alderson (Starr) tweeted on October 6 that she had “Filmed some classic Starr/Todd scenes today! You guys are gonna love it. Roger and I had so much fun filming. =)”

On October 1, Austin Peck (Rick) tweeted “I’m having so much fun with Mr. Rick Powers. He maybe a sociopath…but like in the best possible way.”

Shenell Edmonds tweeted that she returned to “OLTL” on October 3 after being on vacation.

And Julia Davis, the show’s make-up artist made several tweets last week on her Twitter page about cast and crew having several long days filming on set.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Talk about mommy issues. On Monday, October 3, Todd Manning (Roger Howarth) shot and killed his mother Irene (Barbara Rhoades) in cold blood after she threatened to blow up his family. But even death can’t stop Irene from making her son’s life miserable.

With Irene now six feet under, her reign of terror on the citizens looks to be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean that Todd will be living happily ever after. Beginning today, and lasting off and on through the coming weeks, the not so dearly departed will continue live on in her son’s mind as she continues to taunt and tease Todd in his fractured state of mind.

But will Todd be able to overcome his mother’s hold on him? Tune in to “One Life to Live” to find out!

Thomas A. Montalto/MontaltoPhotos.com

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Two years after they were last seen in Llanview, Kathy Brier and Chris Stack are set to reprise the roles of Marcie and Michael McBain in the coming weeks as “One Life to Live” winds down production on its television run before transitioning to online-only distribution early next year.

As we first reported in August, the duo, who were last seen in November 2009 when Marcie gave birth to a son, Gabriel Thomas, are coming back to town this fall for a few months. Now Soap Opera Network can confirm their first airdate. Look for the husband and wife duo to return to Llanview on Tuesday, October 25, when they surprise Michael’s big brother John McBain (Michael Easton) with a visit.

Once back in town, fans can also expect Marcie to leave her brother-in-law with a little food for thought regarding a certain Llanview resident — and we’re not talking about Natalie (Melissa Archer) either.

Brier gave fans a sneak peek of her return back on August 30 when she tweeted a picture of herself getting into character in the show’s make-up room.

Nominated for a Daytime Emmy for her role on “OLTL,” Brier played Marcie Walsh McBain from 2002-2009. Chris Stack replaced Nathaniel Marston in the role of Michael McBain from 2007-2009.

Tonja Walker Brings Alex Back to ‘Life’

IMDb

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — It’s official! Another fan favorite is on her way back to “One Life to Live.” In a message on her Facebook page, Tonja Walker not only confirms that she will be reprising her role of Alex Olanov, but also reveals a few of the characters she will be mingling with when she returns later this fall.

After first breaking the news of her return on the social networking site earlier this month, Walker posted on Tuesday of this week that she was “Getting ready for workout! Power 90…Love it AND then off to ‘One Life to Live.’ What a great day. This is my last day, I think on the show. I am enjoying it very much! Josh Kelly [Cutter] is so terrific, and Farah Fath [Gigi] is as well. Great Times.”

She soon followed up that message, adding “Hey wait! I hand a card to Cutter and say, call me if you need me! Maybe it’s not my last day here? Hey, you never know! BTW it is going to be a snap to watch this on the web. DON’T SWEAT IT! I’m going to suggest today that they start letting viewers know how, so they won’t miss a beat! LOVE YOU ALL!”

Alex was last seen in March when Bo (Robert S. Woods) and Rex (John-Paul Lavoisier) tracked her down on Asa’s tropical island paradise, St. Blaze’s, in their quest to locate David (Tuc Watkins). A first airdate has not been announced.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Even though viewers have yet to learn the identity of Kim’s (Amanda Setton) comatose friend, look for her doctor to make his first appearance at the Kentucky hospital next month as her conditions takes a sudden change. And it is a face that some soap fans may remember.

Kurt McKinney, best known for his roles as Matt on “Guiding Light,” Ellis on “As the World Turns,” and Ned on “General Hospital,” will make his “One Life to Live” debut in what is believed to be the recurring role of Dr. Fascinella on Friday, October 14. While the show is keeping mum on the details surrounding his debut, we can tell you that the show released an audition script for the role recently. That script, however, was a recycled version of the one released earlier this year for the role of Dr. Pryor, who told Bo (Robert S. Woods) and Nora (Hillary B. Smith) that Matthew (Eddie Alderson) had suffered severe brain trauma, as the show worked to keep the true identity of Kim’s friend a secret.

McKinney isn’t the first employee of the unnamed Anchorage, Kentucky hospital to be cast. Adriane Lenox first aired as Nurse Judy, whom Rex (John-Paul Lavoisier) recently pumped for information, on Monday, September 19. The show also just released a casting call for a receptionist who will be tied to the storyline as well. And on Monday, October 17, Paul Hickert will play “Kentucky Cop #2.”

In a interesting twist, McKinney himself is a Kentucky native, as is Farah Fath (Gigi), who is rumored to be tied to the storyline as well.

In other news…

Want to get a sneak peek at which sets and clothing will be used will be used in some upcoming scenes and episodes? If so, then check out these behind-the-scenes pictures of Jerry verDorn (Clint) giving two lucky fans a tour of the studios back in August.
