When I began watching soap operas in 1993, I didn't pay any attention to the closing credits. I didn't care who wrote or directed or even produced the shows. Then in the late 1990's, I found newsgroups and message boards on the internet.
Actress, Singer, and Producer, Minae Noji, who portrays Dr. Kelly Lee on ABC's "General Hospital" and SOAPnet's "General Hospital: Night Shift," is an all around entertainer. Her television credits include stints on ABC's "Spin City" with Michael J. Fox, CBS's "The Bold and the Beautiful," and voice over work with the popular syndicated series "Captain Planet and the Planeteers." She has also appeared in such films as "Be Cool" with John Travolta and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, "Memoirs of a Geisha" and produced and starred in the movie short "Judge is God."
"General Hospital: Night Shift" premiered on July 12, 2007 with an average of 1 million total viewers and just under 500,000 viewers in Women 18-49. The reach the soap had was beyond anyone's expectations at SOAPnet and the Disney-ABC Television Group. So what does the head of the company's daytime division think of the premiere? "Obviously thrilled. There is a mass idea there where you put all of these 'GH' viewers and say 'let's come up with something that is spun out of 'GH' and put it on SOAPnet.' It seems like a pretty basic programming idea, but you still have to make a terrific show and hope that people will watch it -- and Jill and Bob have done that."
