On the heels of ABC Family giving “Twisted” a back-order pick-up with all new episodes scheduled to premiere in January 2014, comes word that former “All My Children” and “General Hospital” head writer, Charles Pratt, Jr., has been named executive producer and a writer of those upcoming episodes of the hit series. Pratt created and wrote for the recently canceled”The Lying Game.”
Two weeks since canceling “The Lying Game,” and a week after canceling “Bunheads,” ABC Family has announced it has ordered a third season of “Switched at Birth” and has given both “Twisted” and “The Fosters” back-order pick-ups. The new episodes will all premiere alongside “Pretty Little Liars” in January 2014, it was announced today by Michael Riley, President, ABC Family.
CBS has renewed “Under the Dome,” the summers most watched series in viewers and key sales demos, for a second season. Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, “Dome” follows a small town suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The citizens must now deal with ways to survive amid post-apocalyptic conditions, while seeking to find answers to what the dome is and why they’re all stuck in it and when they might get out (not likely anytime soon with the renewal).
CBS has released a breakdown of how its top shows left off with their season finales in May and what viewers can expect when their new seasons premiere in the fall. “It may only be July, but it’s never too early to get caught up on where CBS series left off last May. And there’s no time like the present for a sneak peek at some surprises and guest stars coming in the fall,” reads the network press release.
“Witches of East End,” which was inspired by Melissa de la Cruz’s best-selling novel, has a launch date! Lifetime announced today that the new witching hour of drama is coming to a TV screen near you beginning Sunday, October 6 at 10:00 PM ET/PT. The series stars Julia Ormond (Temple Grandin, Mad Men), Mädchen Amick (“Mad Men,” “Damages”), Jenna Dewan Tatum (“American Horror Story”) and Rachel Boston (“In Plain Sight”) as a family of witches living in the secluded seaside town of East Haven. The new series also stars Eric Winter (“The Mentalist,” “Days of our Lives”), Daniel DiTomasso (CSI), Jason George (“Grey’s Anatomy,” “Sunset Beach”) and Oscar and Golden Globe Award nominee Virginia Madsen (“Sideways,” ”Anna Nicole”).

Fans of the upcoming show can demand that their city be one of the three to get an advanced screening by voting for their place of residence. The three cities that have the highest online vote tally by Monday, August 19 at 5PM PT will receive free advanced screenings in local theaters prior to the show’s Monday, September 16 premiere.
Casting for Hallmark’s upcoming backdoor pilot, “My Gal Sunday” has been in full swing, and three of the series’ major players have finally been confirmed: Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery, “All My Children”), Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones, “General Hospital;” ex-Dominick Marone, “The Bold and the Beautiful”) and Rachel Blanchard (“Clueless;” “7th Heaven”).
Executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company jointly announced earlier this evening that they have decided to delay the start of production on season five of “Glee” until early August, nearly a week after the passing of Cory Monteith. As a result, the new season will now premiere on Thursday, September 26 (9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The show was previously scheduled to return to production on brand new episodes at the end of this month and the new season was scheduled to air beginning Thursday, September 19.
