What does “Revenge’s” Emily Thorne have in common with Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America? She’ll be the star of her own comic book, of course!

USA Today reports that ABC has partnered with Marvel Comics to bring “Revenge: The Secret Origin of Emily Thorne” to comic book stores. Written by Erica Schultz and television writer Ted Sullivan, the book is scheduled to hit shelves on Wednesday, September 3.

“The parts of the history we’re bursting to tell is the origin of the woman you see that shows up in the pilot, as differentiated from the girl who was thrown into (juvenile detention) when her dad was taken from her,” says “Revenge” executive producer Sunil Nayar. “We’re going to the beginning where when things don’t fall into place, she has to think fast on her feet… And she doesn’t have the experience she has on the show, so there’s going to be more mistakes and fumbles.”

Someone in the “Mistresses” casting department must be a “General Hospital” fan: former ‘GH’ stars Jason Gerhardt (ex-Coop Barrett) and Rebeka Montoya (ex-Dolores Padilla) have signed on for Season 2 of the primetime sudser.

According to TVLine.com, Gerhardt will appear as a recurring character who shows up at the home of Savi (Alyssa Milano) during the third episode of Season 2. The two end up having a very unique connection, one which complicates Savi’s life.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Oscar nominated director David O. Russell  (“American Hustle” and “Silver Linings Playbook”) has received a straight to series 13-episode order from ABC for his newest drama project, “an upstairs/downstairs soap set at a private country club,” which will be co-produced by ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios.

Per the website, Russell and writer Susannah Grant (“Erin Brockovich”) co-wrote the story, with Grant writing the teleplay. The duo are set to executive produce alongside Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.

This marks Russell’s first TV series project.

According to Deadline Hollywood, former “Days of our Lives” star Mark Hapka (ex-Nathan Horton) has joined the cast of the FOX Digital Studio original sci-fi series, “Parallels.”

Per the website, Hapka will portray Ronan Carver, a street-smart underground MMA fighter who has been estranged from his family since age 16 only to be forced to confront his past in an adventure through parallel universes. Also cast in the series are Jessica Rothe (“Gossip Girl”), Eric Jungmann (“Night Stalker”), Constance Wu (“One Life to Live”), Yorgo Constantine (“24″) and Michael Monks.

“Parallels” hails from the mind of writer/director Christopher Leone with Laura Harcom set to produce.
