“All My Children’s” Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane) has been given the moniker “Queen of Soaps,” but with some recent moves by the production team behind her new series, “Devious Maids,” she just may be called “Queen of Telenovelas,” too!
In order to appeal to a Latino audience, the pilot for the Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella Williams, “The Young and the Restless”) co-executive produced series — which was created by Cherry and is based on Televisa’s hit telenovela “Ellas Son La Alegría Del Hoga” — will be available via digital platforms prior to its Sunday, June 23 Lifetime premiere in both English and Spanish (meaning yes, we’ll get to see what it look like for Lucci to speak the language of love)! Plus, following the network premiere, each following episode of the show will be available in both languages on myLifetime.com, Lifetime’s Video Watch app and A + E Network’s distribution partners’ Video On Demand services, sites and apps the day after its 10PM time slot.
Since the news broke that “General Hospital’s” Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones) was set to appear in an episode of Nick at Nite’s original series, “See Dad Run,” fans have been chomping at the bit for either more details or a chance to see the star in action on the family sitcom. Well, the time has come for both!
Though we’ve tried hard to see Josh Duhamel as any other character besides “All My Children’s” Leo du Pres, it’s been impossible. The unique and loveable charm of David Hayward’s endearing brother always seems to sneak out. That is, until now.
In “Scenic Route,” which is one of Duhamel’s darkest projects yet, the North Dakota native tackles the role of Mitchell, a man who has it all — until an unsuccessful road trip leaves him stranded in the desert with a friend. Emotions run high while Mitchell and Carter (Dan Fogler) try to survive the elements, and then…
Jennifer Lopez may just be Jenny from the Block, but there’s a whole lot she can do: acting, singing, judging “American Idol,” executive producing ABC Family’s new series, “The Fosters.” Oh, and personally answering everything you’ve always wanted to know about her, “The Fosters” or Sherri Saum (ex-Keri Reynolds, “One Life to Live”), who stars in the alphabet network’s new drama!
Movies and TV shows have stemmed from books (“Twilight,” and “True Blood,” anybody?), but it’s a rare day when TV shows and books are created simultaneously to create an integrated storytelling experience. But that’s about to change! As ABC preps for the premiere of the new reality series, “Whodunnit?” (an interactive program that puts amateur sleuths’ investigative skills to the test in a mystery murder reality competition), executive producer, Anthony E. Zuiker (creator of “CSI”), has teamed up with Hyperion Books to release a series of novels that will be released along with the series to enhance the viewing experience.
Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time for barbeques, catching up with friends and working on that (long overdue) tan, but being soap fans and all, it’s only natural to squeeze in a little soap-worthy entertainment, as well. Luckily, Lifetime Movie Network knows this and chose tonight to premiere ‘The Perfect Boss,’ an original movie staring “Melrose Place” alums Jamie Luner (ex-Liza Colby, “All My Children”) and Linden Ashby (ex-Paul Hollingsworth, “Days of our Lives,” ex- Cameron Kirsten, “The Young and the Restless”)!
“Days of our Lives” stars Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis) and Shawn Christian (Daniel Jonas) have a lot to celebrate. In addition to surpassing their Kickstarter page donation goal for their new web comedy project, “Addicts Anonymous,” a new star has joined the cast: “Full House” alum, Lori Loughlin!
Loughlin, who’s also known for her roles on “The Edge of Night,” “Summerland,” and the new “90210,” will play Smith’s character’s mother (opposite Christian, who will portray Smith’s character’s dad) if the project is made.
Check out the “Addicts Anonymous” Kickstarter page for more information and to find out how you can help create the potential web series, which also stars comedy veterans Matt Walsh (“Veep,” “Ted,” “The Hangover,” “Old School”) and Jerry Lambert (“Shameless,” Family Guy,” “Bad Teacher”), and former “DAYS” beauty Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie Kiriakis).
On Monday, June 24, CBS premieres the highly anticipated summer event drama series, “Under the Dome,” based on Stephen King‘s best-selling novel. With an order of 13 episodes, “Dome” follows the story of a small town that finds itself suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world without any explanations. Viewers will get to see how the town deals with the seclusion and their fight to get out.
Many of you have probably not heard the full theme song used for “All My Children” titled “We Are The Love” by Imaginary Friend, but no one has heard the full “One Life to Live” theme titled “Brand New Start” by IZA, who is newly signed to Boss Lady Entertainment and Snoop Lion‘s Berhane Sound System label, until now!
The OnLine Network announced today that both theme songs are now available for streaming via their newly created SoundCloud page. In addition to the opening theme music, fans will also get to hear “Parachute” by Denyse Tontz (Miranda Montgomery), which was featured in a recent episode of “AMC.”
