HBO leads the Prime Emmy pack with 108 nominations, the most of any network this year. “Game of Thrones,” which completed its third season earlier this year with record ratings, powers the network with 16 nominations. “Behind The Candelabra” received 15 nominations, “Phil Spector” received 11 nominations and “Boardwalk Empire” received 10 Nominations.
USA Network miniseries “Political Animals,” which sadly did not move on to become a regularly scheduled primetime series as hoped, has instead become a cult classic and is now a multi-Primetime Emmy award nominee!
The political dramatic soap that followed Sigourney Weaver as Elaine Barrish, the former First Lady and Governor of Illinois, and current Secretary of State, who by the conclusion of the mini is once again seeking to become the first female President of the United States, was nominated in the category of Outstanding Miniseries or Movie. Weaver was nominated in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie, while co-star and onscreen mother, Ellen Burstyn (Margaret Barrish Worthington), was nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie category.
The anticipation leading up to the announcement of the 65th Primetime Emmy awards has been building for weeks, and “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul and “How I Met Your Mother’s” three-time Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris (who’s also hosting the ceremony this year) finally made the official list public this morning.

ABC’s “Castle” may have had a small production bump due to a reported dispute with star Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey Buchanan, “One Life to Live”), but that hasn’t stopped the casting department from moving forward. And the latest actor they’ve put to work comes from Llanview, too: Yancey Arias (ex-Emilio Gonzales)!
