Judith Light (Judith Ryland, “Dallas;” ex-Karen Wolek, “One Life to Live”) is probably best known for her onscreen comedic entanglement with Tony Danza on “Who’s the Boss?,” and her next project is set to be just as funny — but with an unconventional twist!
As previously reported, ABC's "The View" is currently in reinvention mode. While it gets ready to launch its new season on Monday, September 15, the show will not only have a new studio, new color scheme and logo, it'll also have a new behind the scenes executive team who will spearhead the production of the talk show with c0-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O'Donnell leading the way in front of the camera. The network officially announced that Bill Wolff, previously of "The Rachel Maddow Show," will take over as executive producer. He succeeds Bill Geddie, who helmed the show from its beginnings in 1997 until this past season. Brian Balthazar, who helped launch the fourth hour of "The Today Show" has been appointed co-executive producer.
After just three seasons on the air, A&E has canceled "Longmire," its highest rated original drama series of all time, reports Deadline's Nellie Andreeva. Based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson, the series followed its central character, Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor, "The Matrix"), the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. It co-starred "As The World Turns" alum Bailey Chase (ex-Chris Hughes) as Branch Connally, a deputy with political aspirations.
Best known for his portrayal of Noah Newman on CBS' "The Young and the Restless" and Elliot Leichter on The CW's "Gossip Girl," actor Luke Kleintank has booked a role in the Amazon Studios pilot "The Man in the High Castle," reports Deadline. The series hails from "The X-Files'" Frank Spotnitz and Scott Free Productions and is based on the Philip K. Dick novel of the same name.
Since joining the cast of ABC's "General Hospital" in the recurring role of Spencer Cassadine last year, 8-year-old Nicolas Bechtel has literally stolen the spotlight from some of the veteran cast with his one liners and spot on delivery. Will he do the same when he appears on FOX's newest comedy "Red Band Society" this fall? Earlier this week Bechtel tweeted, "Atlanta has been great. Working on @RedBandSociety was awesome. Almost time to head back to LA." Since then fans have wondered what role he'll end up playing on the Steven Spielberg executive produced series and Soap Opera Network has the scoop!
While his "White Collar" USA Network series gears up for its final swan song, former "Guiding Light" star Matt Bomer (ex-Ben Reade) has signed on for at least one episode of "American Horror Story: Freak Show," reports Entertainment Weekly, who spoke with show creator Ryan Murphy to get the scoop.
As we first reported back in June, CBS' "The Price is Right" is gearing up for its second male model search, but this time with a twist. Instead of searching for male model hopefuls solely in and around the Los Angeles area, as they did back in 2012 for the first go around, "Price" has widened its search across America with casting calls in LA, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas and Spartanburg, S.C., which kicked off the nationwide search on Saturday, August 16. The prize is a week-long spot on the game show hosted by Drew Carey. "Days of our Lives" star Robert Scott Wilson was the winner of the first competition.
