(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — According to early estimates released by Nielsen Media Research, The CW’s telecast of the “36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” in which “The Bold and the Beautiful” took home the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series for the first time, averaged a 2.4/4 in households during its broadcast from 8:00 to 10:00 PM on the netlet. The show averaged approximately 3 million total viewers.
Earlier in the evening “Live from the Red Carpet,” the first Daytime Emmy Award red carpet special, airing from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, averaged a mere 1.0/2 in households with approximately 1.5 million viewers. The special was hosted by “The Insiders” Lara Spencer and “Entertainment Tonight’s” Kevin Frazier.
In total, the CW averaged a 1.9/3 household rating for the night to rank 5th against its competition on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. However, the Daytime Emmy Awards had more viewers than ABC’s 10:00 PM airing of “Defying Gravity,” CBS’ 9:00 PM airing of “There Goes the Neighborhood” and FOX’s 7:00 to 8:00 PM airings of “‘Til Death” and “American Dad.” So there was some good news.
