(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — "The Young and the Restless" Episode Recap – Tuesday, April 5, 2011.

IT HAPPENED TODAY…

While Billy and Nick discuss how damaging Adam's testimony will be for Sharon, a cocky Adam, in the visitor's room, tells Vance that he's going to make the jury see that Sharon didn't kill Skye.

During a business lunch, Sofia and Neil discuss how what happened between them was only a one time thing and that it will never happen again. Malcolm suddenly appears to tell them that they have an opening at the church to be married. When he tells them that the church is First United, both Sofia and Neil balk that it's a mistake to have the wedding where Cane was killed.

DA Walsh is ready to put Adam on the stand. He begins by listing all of Adam's past crimes and asks on the Newman Hedge Fund. Adam admits to ending things with Skye when he and Sharon fell in love again. Walsh wants to know how far Adam would go to have Skye out of his life; did he send Sharon to Hawaii to kill Skye. Adam tries his best to talk on the video he saw but is stopped dead in his tracks. Once they have him alone, Billy and Nick question him on the video.

Jill and Colin arrive at the coffee house and find themselves talking to Daniel and Lily. When Lily leaves, Colin starts to shed light on how he understands what Lily is going through, pointing out that she needs family and friends to comfort and surround her. Jill realizes that Colin is talking on the loss of his children and the two of them have a heart-to-heart.

Chloe and Gloria are confronted by Jana, who wants to know why Chloe's trying to get her fired from her job. As the twon women bicker, Gloria secretly swipes her key. The two soon start digging through Jana's apartment for anything suspicious, but when they discover Jana is back at the Abbott house, Gloria uses a stall tactic. When it doesn't work, Chloe rushes off with the pregancy pillow and is caught by Billy, wondering what she is up to.

Malcolm talks to Lily about having his wedding at First United; he wants to know if she'd be comfortable being there. She tells Malcolm she needs to think about it. She soon heads to see her therapist, where she discusses the loss of Cane and how she wished she had heard his last words to her on the night he died. When her session is over, she calls Neil and asks if Malcolm is still with him. She tells them both that she'll be at the wedding at the church.

Vance, fearing that Sharon won't win the case, tells her that he thinks she should plead to a lesser charge. Adam tells Vance that he's not helpng Sharon at all by asking her to admit guilt to something she didn't do. A distraught Sharon can't believe she'll never see her kids again. When Adam and Sharon are left alone, Adam tells her that he's going to help her escape.

    IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Victoria fills Billy in on Chloe's demands to fire Jana or she'd seek custody of Delia.

Upstairs in the garage apartment, Jana looks over the account number Kevin helped her with; determined to get to the bottom of who paid Primrose to have Daisy's baby. At the coffee house, Chloe is bad mouthing Jana to Kevin, telling him that if Billy doesn't take her serious regarding keeping her away from Delia, she will find a way to stop him from seeing her. As they are talking, Gloria ear hustles on their conversation, more than willing to help find out what her ex daughter-in-law is up to.

Diane is disappointed that she can't seem to put Victor is a better mood. Victor is slightly upset at the news' portrayal of him after his testimony in Sharon's case. At the court house, Jack is discussing Victor's lack of help with Nick, who tells him that regardless of when Victor decided to testify, DA Walsh is doing a very good job at damaging Sharon's character.

At the bank, Jana probes to find out about the bank account number she has. She passes to the teller, telling her that while the money was transfered, the money never was received. When the teller comes back to let her know that the money did go through, Jana asks if there is a way to get documentation on that. She begins to stall when the teller requests her photo ID. Jana has no choice but to leave empty handed.

Sharon is back on the witness stand, and DA Walsh is in for the kill. He asks Sharon, since Adam is so loyal, where is he? She tells him that he's out trying to clear her name. He goes further to point out that her involvement with Adam has managed to turn everyone in her life against her. Things get heated when Walsh brings up her custody battle with Nick and how her love for Adam would have made her do almost anything to prove his innocence: including killing Skye. As they conclude her testimony, Adam walks through the doors of the court room. Walsh orders that Adam be arrested for skipping town.

During the recess of the court case, Jack gets word about Kyle being hurt while at school. When he reached Kyle, he is more than irked to see Victor taking on the daddy role with his son. Jack tells Victor that while he's playing daddy to Kyle, maybe he should be doing the same thing when it comes to his son, Adam.

Victoria informs Jana about her visit from Chloe and how she wants her to be fired. An upset Jana tells Victoria that the only reason why Chloe wants her to lose her job is because of Kevin. Victoria assures her that they aren't firing her.

Billy stops by Chloe's to tell her to back off of Jana. Chloe tells him that she won't have their daughter anywhere near her. After Billy stresses there is nothing she can do about it, Chloe challenges him to watch and see. The troubles continue to mount for Billy when he gets word from the bank that someone was trying to access his account. He calls Victoria to let her know and to shred up their statements. Victoria in turn calls Jana to do it for them.

Sharon and Adam are reunited in the vistor's room. When he shows her the camera, she's elated, thinking that he has the proof to clear her name. Her hopes go up in smoke when he admits that the memory card has been taken out. When Adam asks Vance to put him on the witness stand, the lawyer balks, telling him that his history of lying and scheming would only hurt Sharon's case even further. Before they know it, Vance is informed that Adam will be testifying for the prosecution.

Emily O'Brien to Exit 'Y&R' After Soap Looks to Concentrate on Core Families

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — According to published reports, CBS' "The Young and the Restless" has let actress Emily O'Brien go. The two time Daytime Emmy Award nominee, who joined the cast of "Y&R" in the then recurring role of Jana Hawkes Fisher, the future wife of Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), on May 11, 2006, was said to have been in shock when she learned the news. O'Brien was upped to contract status with the soap in October 2006.

In an interview with Soaps.com, O'Brien revealed that she learned she was being let go by her manager. "I think it was the beginning of March, on the fourth. I was on a run and my manager called me to say I was let go," O'Brien said. After her initial shock, the actress made it clear that she has no hard feelings towards the soap. "I'm not taking it personally," stated O'Brien. "The show assured me that this had nothing to do with my performance, which was very sweet." According to the actress, the reason for her ouster is due to a decision by executives to concentrate on core families in an effort to shore up sagging ratings. "They said that they're trying to get back to the core families. I think it had something to do with the ratings, and I understand that," said O'Brien.

Maria Arena Bell, Executive Producer and Head Writer of "Y&R," made it clear in an interview with On-Air, On-Soaps, following news of O'Brien's ouster, that she adores and respects the actress."I love Emily as an actress! She is one of the great young actresses on the show, and it's much more about a character arc and a story point, and has absolutely nothing to do with her as a performer. She has always delivered and was always terrific." Bell also shared that she'll miss O'Brien, but a story is a story in the end. "I am going to miss her very, very much," Bell said. "But again, it's about the storytelling and storytelling has to keep moving forward."

Prior to joining "The Young and the Restless," O'Brien appeared in an episode of ABC's canceled "What About Brian," and had roles in such films as "Seance," "South of Hell," "Rock & Role Eulogy" and "Champagne Society."

While O'Brien's last tape date was Thursday, March 31, and no definitive last airdate has been announced by the soap, sources confirm that O'Brien's last airdate will be the end of April or early May.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — "The Young and the Restless" Episode Recap – Friday, April 1, 2011.

          IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Nick informs Sharon that Phyllis and Adam are in Thailand trying to find evidence to help clear her name. She is slightly hopeful, but that hope is soon erased when Vance tells her that they are down two of her witnesses.

At the Thailand marketplace, Adam becomes frustrated when the memory card is missing from Sharon's camera. Phyllis, not wanting to give up, insist that they continue searching till they find the card. Adam's frustration makes him want to just head back to Genoa City. An insistent Phyllis instructs them to split up to search for the boy that sold them the camera.

An exposed Jana tells a furious Primrose that she isn't trying to cause trouble, but wants to know that her friend's baby has been placed in a good home. Primrose wants to know how Jana found about her but Jana tells her that she won't share that information. She promises that she won't tell a soul about what they discuss but when Primrose threatens to make sure that she doesn't, Jana warns her that people know where she is at. Not buying her story, Primrose pulls out her cell phone but before she can make the call, Jana shoves her out of her way and escapes.

At the coffee house Daniel and Michael once again get into it regarding Daisy. Daniel stresses that he was a victim too of Daisy, but Michael continues to find flaws in his explanations. He accuses the young man of purposely letting Daisy go so that he didn't have to deal with possibly seeing his baby. Soon after, Lily and Lauren arrive and hear the commotion going on. When Lauren sees Daniel, she blasts him for letting Daisy get away.

Jana, with the copied digits she filmed from Primrose's files, she heads over to the coffee shop and asks Kevin to help her figure out what they mean. An annoyed Chloe departs and heads over to pay Victoria a visit. She stresses that Billy and she need to fire Jana because she is unstable. Victoria points out that Jana is very good with Lucy and doesn't see any problems. Chloe tells Victoria that if they don't fire Jana, she'll go for custody of Delia. Victoria lets her know that she doesn't have the power to take the young girl away. Back at the coffee shop, after some investigating, Kevin tells Jana that the numbers that she have are account numbers; one of them being of someone's account in Genoa City.

Not wanting to wait for another trial, Sharon is told by Vance that he's putting her on the witness stand. Vance asks her to tell the jury about her reasons for going to Hawaii. Sharon says that she only went to Hawaii to bring Skye home so she could clear Adam's name. She points out that while she wasn't a saint, she didn't set out to harm Skye when she arrived in Hawaii. When it's Walsh's turn to cross-examine her, he tears about her character by bringing up her stint in a psychiatric hospital and the fact that three men she was involved with had to have a paternity test to determine who Faith's father was. Nick and Billy look on, worried about how the case could change.

When Adam and Phyllis meet back up from searching for the boy who gave them the camera, Adam points out that it is hopeless; they don't have what they need to help Sharon. Adam soon spots the boy and asks about the memory card. He along with another boy purposely scam Adam and run off with the rest of his cash. Adam tells Phyllis that he is heading back to testify on Sharon's behalf because he knows what he saw on the camera. It dawns on Phyllis that someone else has seen it too; Koa. They race back to the motel room, only to find it empty. Koa has managed to rip himself from the bed post and escape.

After bowing out after losing, she manages to switch the dice and drop a sedative in Koa's drink. Shortly after, Koa is kicked out of the gambling venue after he's discovered cheating with the loaded dice. When he sees Phyllis, he realizes he's been set up but passes out thanks to the sedative.

Chloe grows tired of not being able to be with Kevin. He warns her that her being around him is only putting her in danger with Angelo. She soon leaves to meet him and Angelo is curious to know what Chloe wants to meet with him about. Koa doesn't believe them when he's told that Victor has already talked to the police about seeing Sharon trying to save Skye and that he's going to take the stand on Sharon's behalf. Fed up with Koa's stall tactics, Adam threatens him. Koa soon admits that the same day he caught Adam with the camera and knocked him out, he gave it to a street kid to sell.

The judge gives both Sharon and Walsh a stern warning about outbursts in the courtroom. Walsh continues to rip apart Sharon's character and tells the jury that Sharon not only committed the murder of Skye but also tried to flee the country. When it's Vance's turn, he deflects Walsh's statements of Sharon being an unfit mother who committed murder, stating that Sharon was in Hawaii to prove Skye was very much alive and to bring her back to Genoa City to clear Adam's name.

Adam and Phyllis become frustrated with one another due to the fact that they still can't find any dirt on Koa. The two of them continue to bicker when Phyllis rolls the dice again. The two of them realize that Koa has loaded dice to cheat his way into winning any game. As for Sharon, she gets a visit from her mother, Doris. Doris is upset at how Sharon let this happen to herself. She belittles her for taking up with the likes of Adam, especially over her own children. Doris tells her that she can no longer stand by her side and walks away.

Michael gives Lauren and Kevin the news that Daniel and he caught up and found Daisy, only for Daniel to let her escape. Michael and Kevin come down on Daniel for his actions, causing him to leave. Lauren tells Michael he could have been a bit more understanding to Daniel's feelings.

Jill and Colin talk about paying a visit to Lily. Across from their table, Lily and the family gather to do a little surprise birthday celebration for Sophia. Olivia starts to catch up with the goings on with the family when Sophia and Malcolm arrive. Neil watches on uncomfortably Sophia and Malcolm's lovey-dovey actions. During the birthday celebration, Lily spots a man she swears is Cane and runs up to him.

Jana is at Crimson Lights with Lucy when Chloe arrives. When she spots the ultrasound pictures, she scoops them up from Jana asking what she's doing. Jana quickly takes them from her and tells her to butt out. Chloe, determined to find out what Jana is up to, threatens to tell Billy and Victoria about what a loose-cannon she is, and how unsafe she is with both Delia and Lucy. After learning that Daniel had Daisy and how she escaped, Jana wants to be the one to find her and the baby as a way to get closer to Kevin; while Chloe wants to do the same thing for different reasons. She leaves and makes a telephone call to the one person she thinks could help her: Angelo.

In Thailand, Adam and Phyllis buy their way into an illegal gambling venue. When they arrive, they await to see if Koa will show up; and he does. Adam realizes that they have to come up with another scheme before Koa recognizes him. Quick as a flash, Phyllis leaves and dons her little red seduction dress. With loaded dice in hand, Phyllis re-enters the gambling room and stands right next to an unsuspecting Koa.

At the courthouse, Vance asks Sharon if her mother is coming to lend moral support. A crushed Sharon tells him that nobody is coming to give their support to her. She looks around and sees those on the jury glaring at her. Vance starts off by questioning some of the jury members to see what their perceptions are regarding Sharon based on what they have either read or what they have heard regarding her. After asking his questions of them, he takes a minute to tell Sharon how he's targeting those on the jury that she can get the most sympathy from.

Michael and Lauren argue about Daniel's logic in letting Daisy go. Lauren points out that if Michael were in his shoes, he'd do the same thing in order to find Fen if he were missing. It suddenly dawns on Michael that Daniel deliberately let Daisy get away because he doesn't want the baby found to begin with. IT HAPPENED TODAY…

Primrose wants to know how Jana went about getting her name. Jana tells her that she knows a family that she helped. When Primrose goes to touch Jana's stomach Jana jumps away from her. When Jana starts asking too many questions about Primrose's tactics, Primrose begins to get nervous and demands her to leave. When Jana makes another attempt, Primrose gives her ultimatum: bring the full ultrasound and medical work and she'll think on helping her.

Every one continues to watch the press conference. When Kyle asks Diane about what's going on, Diane gleams that Victor will be even richer. Back at Victoria and Billy's everyone is chatting on Victor's decision. Billy sneaks out to try to hone in on the press conference. Meanwhile, Katherine rips into each Newman for their role in causing Victor to go public. Tucker, wanting to get his hands on stock tries to talk Katherine into going in with him. She blasts him for his greed and walks away.

Michael tells Lauren that Daniel and he have found Daisy. He promises her that she will be back in lock up. Unfortunately for him, Daniel, who is with Daisy back at the motel room, decides to let her get away. When Michael comes back with the police, he's upset to learn that she's escaped again.

Billy is at the press conference and begins grilling him as to his true motives for going public. Victor tells Billy that he's moving toward a new venture and disregards him to further ask questions. Meanwhile, Jack tries to butter up Abby with kind words and apologies, while in another part of the Abbott house, Victoria whines to Nick about not getting Beauty of Nature.

Nick barges into the Newman mansion and demands to know why Diane outright lied to him. She swears that she didn't and tells him what she heard; but didn't know anymore on Victor's plans. An angry Nick tells Diane that everything that people have said about her is true.

Tucker, still on his gloat session, offers a toast to Ashley being sole CEO of Jabot. When she questions him what he's talking about, he admits that he fired Jack for not coming through with Beauty of Nature. Just then, Abby and Jack arrive. Jack wants Ashley to help him get his job back, but she refuses. Abby demands the same thing from Tucker, pointing out that her mother won't be blinded by his antics for too much longer. Meanwhile, Ashley crushes Jack's hopes of getting Jabot by telling him that his obsession has consumed him and that it's best that she runs the company.

Billy returns and asks Victoria and Nick why they can't just be satisfied with having their billions. Victoria says that she wants Beauty of Nature and she's going to do whatever it takes to get it from Victor.

Tucker, Ashley, Jack, Nick and Victoria all find themselves in a mad dash to get as much Newman stock as they possibly can; unaware that Katherine and Victor could have possibly set up a plan to make that impossible for them to do.
