(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Despite being shot and burned alive, Elijah Clarke makes a not-so-surprising return from the dead next week on "One Life to Live," begging the question that fans have long been asking, "Does anyone ever stay dead on this show?"

Even though the character, portrayed by "Old Navy" spokesperson Matt Walton, only died a few weeks ago, his reign of terror is far from over. Viewers tuning in to Friday's episode were left with the assumption that it was another presumed dead character, Téa Delgado (played by Florencia Lozano), that had summoned Dr. Gregory Evans (Terell Tilford) back to the hospice center in St. Kitts. However, expect it to be revealed on Monday's episode that Eli is alive and (somewhat) well, and continuing to pull at Greg's strings. But it's only the beginning. Look for Eli to continue wrecking havoc with the lives of numerous Llanview citizens in the coming weeks, as well as making an unusual request to someone he's presently blackmailing.

For those of you keeping track, the Eli reveal is thing that "happens in the first five minutes of Monday's episode," which was recently teased in an article on SOAPnet.com. As for the "other bomb" they are referring to, we'll never tell.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — It appears that reports of Téa Delgado's untimely passing have been greatly exaggerated. In what has possibly been one of ABC Daytime's worst kept secrets, Florencia Lozano returns to "One Life to Live" despite the fact that she never really left.

While going all out for the shock factor with the "death" of one of the soap's "major" characters, "One Life" would have been wise to have done a better job of covering their tracks. Not only was Ms. Lozano spotted by fans and photographers frequently entering and exiting the soap's studios around the time that her character succumbed to her deadly brain tumor (which would make for an awful lot of ghost scenes, were that to be the case), but the actress herself was rather coy regarding her future with the show in a Wednesday, September 8 interview posted on The New York Times website about her new off-Broadway play "underneathmybed."

Giving only a "sly smile" when asked if she was finished with "One Life," Lozano didn't refute rumors that there is more to Téa's death which, in true soap opera fashion occurred off-screen, than meets the eye.  However, New York Times reporter Patrick Healy (who interviewed the soap star) was somewhat more candid, reminding us that "Téa who married the show’s rakish antihero four times, is now officially dead, but her body has mysteriously disappeared, and the first rule of a soap death is that anything can happen."

And, if that wasn't enough to cast doubt on the reports that the beloved "OLTL" heroine was dead, consider the fact that none of her fellow cast members seemed surprised or suspicious when the actress recently returned to the set.  In fact, according to Healy, "Dozens of stylish dresses and pantsuits marked 'Téa' remained in the wardrobe department."  Which would seem odd for a character that is supposed to be dead.

Furthermore it should be noted that, while other media outlets were proclaiming that Téa was dead and Lozano was no longer a part of the cast, Soap Opera Network remained largely silent on the issue, which we regarded as irrelevant.

So, if Téa really isn't dead, then when can fans expect to see the character again? That remains to be seen, but we here at Soap Opera Network  suspect that Téa's "return from the dead" will tie in with Roger Howarth's reappearance on the "One Life" canvas later this fall.  All we can say is stay tuned.

OLTL PreVUE: Week of September 13 Edition

Friday, September 10, 2010 at 8:00 AM ET by Scotty Gore

      Photo: Donna Svennevik/ABC

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — A look at what’s happening on “One Life to Live” during the week of September 13, 2010.

THIS WEEK ON: ONE LIFE TO LIVE

Kelly forces Dorian to face the world again and drags her to a meeting with Bo and Nora on Tuesday, September 14. Kelly offers Rex a job tracking down David, saying Dorian needs closure. Kelly gets more than she bargined for when Dorian slugs her during a role playing exercise. Clint gets Inez up to speed on the Buchanan men’s history with Nora. On Wednesday, September 15, an uncomfortable Bo and Nora join Clint and Inez at the Palace. Elsewhere in Llanview, Vivian asks Destiny and Darren if they practice safe sex on Monday, September 14. Layla promises Crisitan they can make things work, and manages to persuade him to extend their engagement by a year. Gigi tells Rex she had a bad first day at LU, and later decides to enroll in Cris’ art class. And, on Thursday, September 16, Gigi wonders if Kelly wants Rex for herself when he tells her of his new assignment.

The Inside Story: Back from the Dead

Todd and Dani grow closer after he admits that he lied to her about Ross on Monday, September 13, at which time she shows him the strange text message she recently received. Natalie is thrown for a loop when John reveals that he isn’t sure if Eli is really dead. At the hospice center, Greg is horrified to find Eli there waiting for him. Eli explains to a flabbergasted Greg how he managed to fake his own death. Back in Llanview, Todd and Dani are surprised when Ross pays them a visit on Tuesday, September 14. After confessing that he sent Dani the text, he states that he came to take her back home to Tahiti. Todd confronts Ross about his connection to Eli’s crime spree. Ross admits that he was his brother’s accomplice and produces Téa’s will, which names him as Dani’s legal guardian. Meanwhile, Greg gives Eli a check-up, and diagnoses him with a subdural hematoma. On Wednesday, Sepetmber 15, Todd is both shocked and suspicious regarding the alleged will. John arrives on the scene and takes Ross into police custody. Eli orders Greg to give him plastic surgery to make him look like Ross. At the same time, Renee allows John and Natalie to search Eli’s old room at the Palace for evidence that the burned body in Tahiti isn’t Eli’s. Meanwhile, Ross is on the verge of getting what he wants.

      A Closer Look: Mixed Emotions

Blair asks Dorian if they can hold Téa’s memorial service at La Boulaie and realizes her aunt still isn’t over David’s latest betrayal. John reminds Ross that Téa’s will must be probated before it can take effect, and asks the on-duty cop to trail Ross on Thursday, September 16. Natalie informs John that she has found some DNA evidence. Jessica and Brody reaffirm their love. Natalie is grateful Brody has agreed to keep their secret. As Téa’s memorial service progresses, the tension between Todd and Ross increases. Eli secretly records Todd’s bribe attempt and threat to murder Ross on Friday, September 17. Dani tells Nate that she is sure her mother wanted her to remain with Todd. Eli puts enormous pressure on Greg to return to the hospice center. And Natalie and John learn that Eli’s “body” has disappeared, prompting Natalie to ponder how they’ll prove their hunch. Also, after talking to Kelly about Ford, Langston lures him into a kiss while secretly recording the incident. Ford is fired from his teaching job at LU after Langston sends the photo of the two of them kissing to the Dean. James promises Cole he is keeping his word about staying away from Starr. And James tells Starr that Langston and Ford are back together.

‘One Life’ Recasting a Buchanan Heir

Friday, September 10, 2010 at 4:00 AM ET by Scotty Gore

      Photo: ABC

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “One Life to Live” is on the hunt for a new Joey Buchanan, one day after releasing a “wide release” casting call for the contract role of Viki and Clint’s youngest son.

In the new audition script, Joey is described as being in his “mid to late 30s,  and a extremely good-looking, successful, warm, kind, charming, finance guy.” In 2007, “Castle” star Nathan Fillion was the most recent actor to step into the role (for two episodes – he had previously played Joey from 1994-97), which has already been recast a half dozen times since Joey first aired back in 1982.

Last year, “OLTL” reportedly went after “As the World Turns” star Daniel Cosgrove for the role, however, he turned them down.  As for what brings Joey back to Llanview, “One Life’s” Head Writer Ron Carlivati hints that “Our thoughts for Kelly [Gina Tognoni] are turning to romance.” Back in the day Joey and Kelly were one of Llanview’s more popular young couples.

      In other news…

“OLTL” has also released a casting call for the heavily recurring role of “Eddie,” who is described as in his “40′s, early 50′s, underneath his hot, handsome, sexy, charming exterior lies an extremely violent and abusive nature.”  It is rumored that Eddie is the father of the three Ford brothers and that he will first air sometime in October.  According to reports, the script involves Eddie visiting the apartment of his sons, who want nothing to do with him.

Mandy Evans booked an unknown “Under 5″ role on “OLTL” on August 20th.  She taped her scenes on August 25th.

Terrell Tilford (Greg) has added more airdates for his character on his Facebook page.  In addition to September 10th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th, 27th, 28th, and 30th, fans can also expect to see him in the October 1st & 4th and November 2nd episodes.

The Jessica/Natalie baby bump picture discussed recently is from a scene that airs the week of September 27th.

Kristen Alderson tweeted on September 8th that she had just finished up a photo shoot with her co-stars Nic Robuck (James) and Brandon Buddy (Cole).

And Kassie DePaiva (Blair) tells fans “Thanks for all the nice post and emails about my scenes with Matt [Walton - Eli] this week [August 31st - September 3rd]. Those scenes were exhausting but I thought they turned out well. Let me know what you think…” Prior to that, she stated that “I’m loving working so much. Keep watching…. it’s getting good!!!!”

ABC Gives ‘One Life to Live’ a New Look

        Photo: ABC

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Although fans shouldn’t expect the ABC sudser to transition to HD anytime soon, they will notice a slightly different appearance to the show in the coming months.

With NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” expected to make the switch in November, “OLTL” remains one of only two daytime dramas (“The Bold and the Beautiful” being the other) that wiill not be broadcast in High Definition as of this fall.  However, Broadcasting & Cable is reporting that ABC “will start shooting episodes [of 'OLTL'] in the 16 X 9 [widescreen] format for December airing.”  A first airdate has not been announced.

Last year the network announced that “One Life to Live” would convert to HD upon its move into sister soap “All My Children’s” old studio’s following that show’s relocation to near Los Angeles, however those plans were soon scrapped due to a sagging economy.  Plans for the “AMC” conversion went on as scheduled, due to the fact that the equipment at the show’s new West Coast studios had already been upgraded.  “General Hospital” began broadcasting in HD in April of 2009 after ABC reportedly spent upwards of $3,000,000 to make the move a reality.  And ABC’s morning gabfest “The View” made the transition in 2006.
