Legendary hip hop artist Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg) just wrapped his final (for now) appearance in Llanview, but he left a lovely parting gift: The full music video for the show’s theme song, “Brand New Start,” which he and his protégé, IZA, created!
“Pretty Little Liars” actress Tammin Sursok (ex-Colleen Carlton, “The Young and the Restless”) took to Twitter yesterday to announce some very big news: She’s expecting her first child with husband Sean McEwen, whom she married in 2011!
Soap fans can hardly keep a lid on the excitement that’s been building for the premiere of Lifetime’s soapy series, “Devious Maids,” a dramady starring Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramírez, Roselyn Sánchez, Edy Ganem and Judy Reyes as five maids who have dreams and ambitions of their own, even though they work for wealthy bosses like Genevieve Delacourt (Susan Lucci, ex-Erica Kane, “All My Children”). And perhaps the excitement inspired the producers over at ABC’s “20/20,” as the news magazine program is premiering a special episode detailing the lives of some real-life help of super rich families!
There’d be no Pine Valley and no Llanview if it hadn’t been for “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” creator, Agnes Nixon. The 85-year-old penned both sudsers and consequently is responsible for putting thousands of people to work over the past 40-plus years. She’s received countless awards for her additions to the genre, most recently receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences during the 37th annual Daytime Emmy Awards in 2010. And Vincent Irizarry (David Hayward, “AMC”) thinks the legendary lady is overdue for yet another recognition!
NBC’s only daytime drama, “Days of our Lives,” has started the summer off with a bang: For the week of May 27 through May 31, the sudser was able to draw in its biggest women 18-49 viewership in 18 months and its largest overall audience in more than two years!

“The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” have had their fair share of daddy-centric storylines, and now two of CBS Daytime’s other shows are trying to catch up! Just in time for Father’s Day, both “The Talk” and “The Price is Right” will be featuring special “dad” episodes, and the latter will also be airing a special “high school graduates” episode.
As we previously reported, Camryn Grimes is returning to “The Young and the Restless” this summer, and fans are abuzz with speculation about her upcoming appearance. Will she be returning yet again as a ghost? Could she be headed back to the canvas as a completely new character? And just how long will the beloved actress be sticking around in Genoa City? We caught up with Sharon Case, who plays Cassie’s mother, Sharon Collins, to get a sneak peek at what’s ahead!
“The Young and the Restless’” Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Newman) hasn’t even left Genoa City yet, but there are already fans crossing their fingers in anticipation of a future return. But is it possible? Angelica McDaniel, Senior Vice President of CBS Daytime, thinks so! “She is an icon,” the exec tells Soap Opera Network of Stafford, who began playing George and Lydia Summers’ daughter back in 1994. “She’s an amazingly talented woman... and she brings so much as Phyllis to the show. But we have to respect her decision, and [leaving] was her choice.”
Stereotypes about soap operas have been flying around since their 1952 television debut, but never once has it been uttered that watching passionate and steamy daytime sudsers can actually reduce fertility rates — until now!
Robert Scott Wilson has taken “All My Children” by storm as Opal Cortlandt’s (Jill Larson) son, Pete Cortlandt. So much so, that he’s fast becoming a Pine Valley tycoon even his own father, Palmer, wouldn’t have messed with!
Fans of “The Young and the Restless’” Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) were kept in the loop about the actress’ illness and eventual passing by her son, Corbin Bernsen (“Psych”), and now the actor is set to speak out yet again on his mother’s tragic death.
We may not envy the icy hearts of the characters on ABC’s “Revenge,” but their stellar wardrobes certainly leave us panting. Lucky for us — and fellow fans of the drool-worthy outfits put together by the show’s three-time Emmy nominated costume designer, Jill Ohanneson — the series’ clothing could be coming to a store near you!
“All My Children’s” Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane) has been given the moniker “Queen of Soaps,” but with some recent moves by the production team behind her new series, “Devious Maids,” she just may be called “Queen of Telenovelas,” too!
